How do you clean your brushes? With baby shampoo? DIY brush cleanser? Store bought brush cleansers? I've used many different brush cleansers, some high end, drug store and even DIYs. Although all of them did work, nothing can compare to to what I currently use now. Two words, Sonia Kashuk. Yes, you have and will continue to hear her name repeated in more posts. Of all the products I have used, none of them disappointed me. From her eye shadows to lipstick and even her brush cleanser.
1. Rinse all of the brushes in warm or cold water.
2. Spritz one or two squirts directly onto the brush, depending on the size.
3. Let it sit for about three to five minutes.
4. Swirl the brush in circular motions on the palm of your hand.
5. Gently squeeze all the liquid from the brush.
6. Rinse in warm/cold water again.
7. Spritz one squirt directly onto the brush again.
8. Let it sit for one or two minute.
9. Swirl the brush in circular motions on the palm of your hand again.
10. Rinse under warm/cold water until water runs clear. (If not, or you feel that your brushes aren't clean to your content, you may cleanse it one more time.)
11. I take a large bowl and place two or three paper towels inside the bowl. You can place towels in the bowl instead or even use a towel and fold up the ends or however you like to dry your brushes.
12. Squeeze as much water from the brush as you can.
13. Stand the brush (downward) in the bowl. Never dry your brushes facing upright, the water will come in contact with the glue in the shaft and your brush will fall apart.
14. Let the brushes dry overnight.
And that's it, by morning, you will surely have fluffy, clean brushes you can use. It is that simple. I have been using this method for a while and my brushes are still in terrific shape.
Enjoy your Saturday. Thank you for reading. :)
