Happy Hump Day everyone! We're half way through the week, almost there guys... almost there.
I have not gone swimming in two weeks and I want to sooo bad this Friday. Hopefully Arizona will hold off on the rain until the weekend instead. Arizona is currently in the middle of Monsoon season, which basically means, thunderstorm month for us. Monsoon season started on June 15th I believe, since then, we have only received a pathetic amount of "rain" the first week. It was just enough to wet the grounds and dirty the cars and then it's over. Since then, not much luck, although for the past week, it has been majorly overcast; the skies are covered in dark, gray clouds, no traces of the sun whatsoever, it gives like a gloomy feel. I am hoping for rain soon, but just not Friday. Knowing my luck though, it will probably start pouring Friday.
As much as I love the rain, I cannot for the life of me stand the humidity... which unfortunately, the rain will bring with it. As much as I complain about the dry heat here in Arizona, I'd rather dry heat than humid. Something about it just irks me! Another bad thing about Monsoon seasons are the dust storms and/or haboob. It is one scary sight and you do not want to be driving around when one arrives. As a matter a fact, emergency alerts are sent out to our phones alerting us of from and til when the dust storms will arrive and leave and advises us to not travel during that time. If you still don't know how scary a haboob looks like or still curious, below are some pictures.
Yeah... You probably have an idea now. I've been receiving warnings about these coming everyday. Not fun at all.
I shouldn't be complaining though, other places have it far worst. Like Hurricane Arthur that just hit the US not long ago and Typhoon Neoguri that's devastating Japan as of now.
Please stay strong Japan! I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers. And for anyone else whose home are being affected by any natural disasters, please stay safe and be extra careful.
My skins' progress have been improving over the past few days. I have been applying hydrating masks, done facials that will help with the oiliness, done steam facials and used scrubs. Everything, thank goodness, has helped thus far. One major component, I think, that helped me improve so quickly is the lack of makeup I've been wearing. I have kept my words on that and stayed away from makeup almost all week. That is until today, but, buuuut, I only wore eye makeup today. I applied nothing but moisturizer with SPF, no BBs, no CCs, no concealer, not even tinted moisturizer.

Like I mentioned up there, I used nothing on my face today, just a hydrating moisturizer with SPF to protect my skin. I also misted my face with Avene Spring Water to further lock in the moisture. I am not at all conscious about my blemishes today, my main goal is to get my skin back to its healthiest state.
It is one hot and humid day here in the AZ, so I chose a primer that I know can withstand my super oily lids. After priming my eyes, I used a flat shadow brush to pack Sin onto my lids. I'm not doing anything fancy, just adding some brightness into my eyes. This shadow is super gorgeous, alone and paired with another shadow. It adds color and dimension all the while give my lids a little sparkle sparkle. What was left on the brush, I used on my browbone as highlight. I used The Curve to line my eyes, not too thin but not too thick either. I am a huge fan of thick liners on bare face. I applied two generous coats of mascara to the bottom lashes to sorta balance the liner on top.
I swiped Stainiac on the inner parts of my lips and popped my lips a few times so the color will transfer evenly. This was an order I placed on Hautelook a while ago and it just arrived last week. I am working on a haul post for it and will be posted soon. So please look forward to it. To finish off my lips, I applied City Color Lip Balm in Baby Pink. This lip balm will keep my lips hydrated for the next couple of hours while providing me with a gorgeous color combined with Stainiac.
After I came home, I immediately took off this makeup and boiled up a steam facial to cleanse my pores. Face feels super light and my skin feels firmer.
Thank you for visiting and thanks for reading. Please come back soon! :)
