January iPsy Bag: Fresh Start Update

January iPsy Bag: Fresh Start
Hello, hello my Winter ray of sunshines. LOL. Hope you’re all doing well this Hump Day. I know, yet another Wednesday already. Just like that, half of February is gone.
After my monthly iPsy bag came in the mail in the pretty, shiny pink package, it is that time of month again where I update y'all on the products I have spent the last month using and trying out. For the first time in several months, here is an iPsy update post.
January iPsy Bag: Fresh Start
However, please keep in mind that while I have continuously received my iPsy bag each month, I just failed to do a post entry about them. So the last iPsy related post was back in October. Not to worry guys, I will be more diligent from here on out. No more excuses, no more slacking off!
Enjoy this month's iPsy products below. :)

So what is better than a soft synthetic brush? Easy, a super soft PINK synthetic brush, but do you know what can make it even better?? Yes! An Elizabeth Mott, pink, super soft synthetic all over shadow brush. Oh wow, that's a mouthful.
I first discovered Elizabeth Mott through iPsy, I forgot if I had gotten the Lash Card or the mascara first, but after receiving the mascara, I fell in love instantly. After the mascara, I continued to receive more of Elizabeth Mott's products, all of which have fast become favorites. So when I found out she now has a brush, mind you, a cute pink brush that is super, duper soft, I was ecstatic. One can never own too many makeup brushes, nope, never.
The brush is 100% synthetic, which means it is as soft as it can be. Lengthwise, it is about the size of my hand, fingertip to wrist and also very light.
In all honesty however, I do not find this brush at all necessary if you are like me and already own enough brushes and brush sets. It does pick up powder shadows very well and applies beautifully. I do not agree that it is an "all over shadow brush" because I can only use it in certain ways. Being Asian, my eyes are smaller and the crease are less visible. When I used the brush to sweep the shadow on my lids, it did get a little messy. What I have been using it for, and it works great, is using it as a blending brush to buffer out the harsh edges.
I do think this is a very great quality brush, but I only recommend it to non Asians or people with larger eyes and more prominent creases. For Asians or those with smaller eyes and hooded lids, I think this brush is great as a blending brush.

First time owning a Probelle Nail Lacquer, and lemme tell ya, I have been missing out.
I have actually used this nail color already and also did a whole Manicure Monday post about it.

I know that Pacifica comes out with very great lotions and hand creams but not every product they have is a hit. Although I have had great luck with the products sent to me, I can't help but read the mixed reviews about their eyeshadows.
Ever since I received this shadow, I have used it twice. Once in The Ethereal Babydoll and the other time was actually yesterday when I went for the natural, yet needs a little picker upper.
This is the second time I have received Pacifica eyeshadows; the shadows are very similar in shade and equally gorgeous. I can definitely see myself using this shadow all over my lids for that ethereal, iridescent look, would pair great with an intense cat eye.
The only complaint I have is with the packaging. It is so darn cheap! The lid almost broke off from the container when I was trying to open it. I know it is a sample, but c'mon! For this, I can never travel with this eyeshadow because the percentage of the shadow breaking is quite high. However, Pacifica does not sell single shadows so if anyone else is interested in this eyeshadow, you will need to buy the whole palette. I have not seen the palette in person, so I cannot tell you how the packaging is. I am just hoping that it isn't so cheap.
Besides that, the shadow itself is a tad dry but not to the point of being flaky. One sweep with a soft brush can easily allow me to apply the shadow onto my lids with ease. I had no problem with pigmentation or it not showing up on my lids nor did I have any issues with blending. I personally like this shadow a lot, it goes well with my skin tone and does wonders for my eyes, in regards to trying to brighten them up and looking more awake.

A new eyeliner pencil! Yay!! Never will I complain about receiving an eyeliner. One of my makeup must haves are eyeliners. I can probably promise you, you'll never catch me leaving the house without at least some eyeliner.
The eyeliner is very soft and buttery so it was able to glide on with ease. Nothing annoys me more than a dry eyeliner that drags at my eyes, it's painful and no one should have to go through that. The staying power didn't really impress me but to be honest, I have used this eyeliner maybe four or five times at most this past month. Every time, maybe around midday or after a day of running errands outside, the eyeliner would smudge and give me raccoon eyes. ICK... I should have been fair and used it several more times, on different areas, mixing it up and all but after it failed me the first two times, I kinda just subconsciously pushed it to the back of the drawer.
My current favorite, go-to eyeliner pencil of choice is the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Perversion. I was a bit disappointed that this eyeliner could not be compared to the Urban Decay because I like having options and not having to depend on just one product.
Stay tuned though because I might just continue to use this eyeliner all this month and will compose a whole post entry on it. Like I said, I was hoping for this to rival Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil.
While this is not be the first time I have received Juice Beauty moisturizers, I am grateful as if it was the first time.
If you're a regular, you'll know that I am a HUGE advocate of moisturizing! I don't ever leave the house with a moisturizer with SPF, I don't go to sleep without first applying a hydrating moisturizer; I moisturize religiously.
While I absolutely love Juice Beauty, it is somewhat on the more expensive side so it's not like I am readily gonna purchase it. I appreciate these samples very much, and maybe, just maybe, I'll go ahead and use the code for discount and splurge on this moisturizer.
But in all honesty, I don't really see much of the need to own it. My Olay and Aveeno does the same great job at repairing, hydrating and moisturizing my skin for a fraction of the price. With that said, I still have not opened this sample and use it yet because I am slightly OCD, I dislike having a whole bunch of products all opened and in use at once. It just irritates me so! Like I also mentioned above, I have already tried out this moisturizer before and I didn't see a difference when I am using this and my normal drug store moisturizer.
