Today's Make Up: "Smitten" For Berry Lips

Thank goodness it's Friday!! Who else is TGIFing with me here?? LOL. Might I add, what a b-e-a-utiful day it is here in the AZ. One of the few things that can put me in an immediate good mood is the weather. And I must say, today's weather is the definition of perfect; consistently in the mid to low 60s with intermittent clouds...er..overcast. Just VERY cloudy and the sun is snuggily tucked in behind the clouds paired with light breeze blowing through my face. Believe me when I say it is truly lovely. <3

Y'all know that when Friday rolls around, the brother and I put good use to our sibling bonding time by running errands together. It is too much of a good day to not go out. To be quite honest, we didn't really need to go anywhere or do anything urgent today so we were just kinda wandering about. Went to lunch, wander several malls, visited Ulta and Sephora... Haha.
I was in the mood for very berry lips today. Again, this was one of those, waking up and said to myself, "It is a berry lips kinda day". And berry lips it shall be! Paired with my berry lips are nude smoky eyes and a "bare" face.

Today's Make Up: "Smitten" For Berry Lips

FACE
Palladio Herbal Foundation Primer
Hard Candy Glamoflauge Lite Blendable Concealer Duo in Ultra Light
Skin79 Super + BB Triple Functions
ELF Translucent Matifying Powder in Translucent
NYC Smooth Skin Bronzer in Sunny
the Balm Shadow/Blush in Cabana Boy
Wet N Wild Color Icon Bronzer in Reserve Your Cabana

EYES
Urban Decay Primer Potion
Maybelline The Nudes
Wet N Wild Mega Liner Liquid Eyeliner in Black
Two Cosmetics Duo Eyeshadow in Heartache
Covergirl Lash Blast Fusion Mascara

LIPS
Revlon Color Stay Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Smitten

I wanted to go for the natural "bare" faced today so I needed my canvas to be flawless, pore wise anyways. I started off with a primer, which I used on problem areas only like around my nose and such. I then used my handy concealer duo on acne scares and under my eyes. With a damp beauty blender, I applied my BB Cream evenly, in a thin layer. I went back and concentrated on areas that needs more products afterward. I used a translucent powder to mattify and set the BB Cream. I contoured and highlight using my favorite NYC Bronzer and Wet N Wild highlighter. Since my lips will be a berry shade, I wanted my blush to be somewhat of a berry shade also. Cabana Boy is berry, but not too much berry to overwhelm my bare face.

As for my eyes, I used everything from the The Nudes palette. I just kinda free hand it while I went along. Nothing too crazy with the eyes. I did sport a cat eye though. Whenever I wear a bold lip color, which I hardly do, but when I do, I usually sport crazy cat eyes or intense liner. In my opinion, it balances out the lips. I did take it a step further though, I applied a pinkish-berry eyeshadow to my lower lash line. I used the slightly darker shade at my outer corner and the lighter of the two in my inner corner, allowing them to meet in the middle-ish. Lastly, I gave my lashes a good curl and masked my lashes in a thick coat of mascara.

I gave my lips a good scrubbing with a toothbrush before applying a moisturizing lip balm. Then I went to town using my Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Smitten. Always remember to check for lipstick teeth when wearing any bold lipsticks, let's spare ourselves the embarrassment. LOL.

Y'all have a great weekend now!! And be safe. Bundle up and don't catch a cold. Enjoy the rest of your night now. Thank you for visiting and thanks for reading. Please do come back soon! :)

the Balm Haul - Hautelook Order

the Balm Haul

Hello weekend everyone! How are you guys? I am enjoying one relaxing Saturday. Not really doing much, just cleaning and derping around. I don't know about you guys, but I do enjoy cleaning the house; just blast the music and I can go all day. I stopped for a bit for lunch but before I dive back to cleaning, I should take a moment to do a blog.

Its been a while since I did one of these post, but here it is, another Haul post. I am super excited because this is actually my first the Balm purchases ever! Although I already own one or two the Balm products, they're either from my iPsy bag or was a gift. I was lucky enough to have caught the Balm featured on Hautelook and I just had to place an order. I didn't pick up everything that I wanted, had to stop myself and only got what I really, really wanted.

the Balm Haul

I know I am super, duper late but I finally got my hands on these blushes. I have heard soooo many rants and raves and reviews about these things and I was just dying to get them..FINALLY though. These shades look super gorgeous and I definitely cannot wait to use them. These arrived sometime last week and as you may know, I have stayed away from makeup this past week in order to better my skin. As soon as I start wearing makeup again, these will be my go-tos. They look so beautiful, I can't get my eyes off of them. Since I have yet to try these, I cannot tell you how they are as of yet, I do plan on doing an update post after I have used them enough. If you're interested, please look forward to an update post in the near future.

I am a lip junkie, I love lip products and lip stains are one of the many obsessions I have. I could not pass up this stain and glad that I didn't. I did give this Stainiac a try on Wednesday so I can give you some input about this stain. This particular shade is called Beauty Queen, it's a reddish-berry-y-pink shade. Unlike Benefit Benetint, Beauty Queen is a gel stain and the applicator is a sponge-tip, not a brush. There is no smell to it, at least, none that I can smell and there isn't a weird taste when applied either. That alone is 10 points for me. As for the formula, I do wish that is was more hydrating and less dry and sticky. Within a minute after applying, so basically when it dries, it becomes a bit sticky. It's not super glue sticky, just melted sugar sticky if you know what I mean. Nothing too hard to fix, I applied Baby Lips or Butter Gloss over it and everything is peachy. Staying power wise, I give it an 8 or 8.5. It did not last me all night, through eating and drinking but it did stain my lips pretty well and the stain did withstand me eating an drinking. I really like this and hope that the Balm will come out with more shades like baby pink, lilac and/or coral.

Besides the Balm blushes, the other product I keep hearing good things about from everyone are their highlighters. While everyone raves about Mary-Lou, I personally prefer Cindy-Lou. Mary-Lou it seemed, is more of a gold base while I prefer a pinkish tone instead, which is what Cindy-Lou is. Like the blush, I have yet to use this but I'm itching to. I bet it'll look so gorgeous, shimmering and radiating. I wonder if this can take over as being my ultimate favorite highlighter, which is currently Hard Candy Baked Bronzer in Tiki.

Down to the eyeshadows, one palette and one single. Ever since I heard about this palette loooong ago, I have set my eyes on it. But I hesitate to purchase a palette that I don't really need for $36. Luckily, these were prices at $18 and it was the first item to be in my cart. For half the price? Hecks yeah! I did play around with some shades from the palette, ugh, so beautiful. The quality is comparable to Too Faced or Urban Decay. Loooove and glad I waited. The last item and other shadow I picked up is called Overshadow Shimmering All-Mineral Eyeshadow in No Money, No Honey. Hahaha, love the Balm's clever names. It is said that this shadow is used over other eyeshadows for a shimmery glow. I might use this as instructed and as the sole eyeshadow to see how it shows up. No Money, No Honey is a shimmering gold, which is one of my favorite shades for the eyes. After I placed my order, I hopped on over to the Balm's site and I saw a shade called Work Is Overrated, a shimmering pink champagne, which I adore witj all of my heart. Unfortunately, Hautelook did not feature this shade, but if I end up loving No Money, No Honey so much, I might just buy Work Is Overrated.

Annnd that's all folks. I will most like do an update post regarding these products, whenever I get to them. Please look forward to it. Hope ya'll enjoyed this haul post. Back to cleaning I go.

Thank you for visiting and thanks for reading. Come back soon! :)
