Today's Make Up: "Lace" In "Anguilla"

It's Saturday guys, it's Saturday! What a glorious Saturday... What a busy day. :/ Only reason why I'm so excited is because it is the weekend, besides that, I'm so busy today. Gaaaaaaaaaaaawd. I cannot wait for dinner tonight. Me so hungry and haven't even had the time to eat yet.
Face is made today, completely made, the whole nine yards with foundation and blush and all that good stuff. I must say... I miss my hour long therapeutic makeup sessions a lot. I also miss the feeling of pampering myself  and dolling up.
Alrighty, so I woke up to gloomy, cloud weather today. Apparently the forecast predicted that Arizona, well, my area at least, will receive some rain today, tomorrow and Monday. Hmm, we shall see. Gimme all you've got rain! So why am I suddenly talking about the weather? Well, if you are a regular, you'll realize that I kinda base my makeup for the day on the weather. Dreary weathers like today calls for bright pick me uppers. The picker uppers in today's makeup mess are on my cheek and eyes. Babydoll pink cheeks, paired with sweet pink lips and subtle pop of colors on the eyes.

Today's Make Up: The "Flirtatious" "Pixie" Name "Ethereal"

Heeeey guuuuys! How are y'all doing today? Can't really complain here in the AZ, maybe just the fact that the AC is turned back on in my house "mid Winter". I can already tell that once Summer officially comes, it will be just a whole 'nother level of scorching heat... Yay!... Fun... :/ On the up side though, I'd rather deal with heat than the cold. Ugh, shivers..
Annnnnywho, had a little outing with my bestie today, first time in a while actually. It was a chill day, didn't do anything fancy. So ya know, the makeup wasn't at all over the top, just a few picker upper for my eyes and a pop of the lips was all I needed.
One of the main reason why I haven't been wearing all that much makeup lately is because a certain special someone has told me on numerous occasions that they prefer "natural beauty" over ya know, too much makeup. Due to my diligent usage of my DIY masks, my skin has been behaving oh so well! I get an occasion pimple every now a then but for the first time in a long time, my skin is pretty clear and very healthy. Hence why I don't find the need to cake on foundation or even BB Cream as of late. Own your beauty gurl, be as comfortable in your own skin as possible because you shouldn't hide behind makeup; makeup should only help you enhance that natural beauty of yours. :P
Also, I would like to apologize in advance for my will be lacking of new materials for the next week and a half. It will probably be a whole lot of throwbacks and flashbacks. The reason being, Lunar New Year is next Thursday. As I've mentioned last year, Lunar New Year also known as Chinese New Year is REALLY big for me as a Vietnamese AND as a Buddhist. There are a whole lot of tedious tasks that must be completed before Thursday so it's basically work, work, work all day, errrrrday for me until then. Of course blogging will still be my first priority, I will try to wake up earlier than planned to get something new in, but if I cannot, I apologize in advance.

Today's Make Up: Casual, Rainy Friday

Happy end of the week everyone! I hope that your Friday has been as awesome as mine. I was up since 4:30 this morning and was out in the cold, rainy streets to rescue my cousins from their car troubles. Fun... what an awesome way to start off the weekend. Haha. But hey, it has been raining ALL day, such PERFECT cuddle weather. ;)
Super, super quick post today to share with y'all what I have on the face. Then, I gotta run to the family dinner. Ugh, so much to do in so little time.

Throwback Thursday: Winter Face Routine & Products Used

Hello, hello my pretties. :) It is one b-e-a-utiful day here in the AZ... Well, in my area at least. Nice cloudy weather with the sun snuggled away in said clouds, MY kinda day, for sure.
I bring you another throwback post, this was actually my first ever entry... How my blog started out. It was of my Winter Skincare routine and the products I used. Even though it has been a whole year, or more, the products have not changed much. But I will definitely to an update entry in the near future... I should get going on that considering how Spring is um, fast creeping up on us, March to be exact but y'all know how fast time seems to fly by.
Anyways, when I do get around to the updated routine, I will post it for y'all asap. Waaaaaaait for it guys! :P
Hi guys! So winter hasn't officially started yet, it will on December 21st, but it sure already feels like it. Here in Arizona, we have been in the 55°F as the high and 35°F as the low with an average humidity of about 25%. Arizona has relatively dry weather year round where temperature can reach a startling high 115°F. However, no matter how hot, cold, dry or humid the weather can get, one thing that stays the same year round is my oily skin. The T-Zone is my problem area, if not only area. I've been into make-up for quite a while now, and have been watching Youtube beauty gurus for years; I have tried all of their tips and a whole lot of products to try to control the oily situation, but nothing helps.
After switching and mixing up products, I think I have finally found what works for my skin during the winter, control the oil but also keep my skin moisturized. Below I will list the products I currently use.

Today's Make Up: Back to "Basics"

Saturday greetings all! I hope you're all enjoying your Saturday as much as I am. Been up since early and it has been a "productive" day.... So I'd like to think. Haha.
My Aunt flew back from Nebraska for the short weekend so we just had to make time for her before she left again. Started off the morning, like a true Asian, by going to dim sum. Although I am still super, duper full, we are already planning dinner. We are also gonna go all out with dinner, Korean BBQ, hot pot to name a few. There is much to do before dinner and bro, cousins and I are tasked to go grocery shopping. Thaaaaaank goodness because I'd much rather be out basking int he Winter sun than cooped up in the kitchen with my Mom and the aunts.
It has truly been a long while, but it feels so good to have makeup on again. I sure miss this feeling; it's just magnificent. Hence why I did not skimp out and half assed. :P I went all out with the makeup. Makeup mess down below, products I used on my face today.
Enjoy!! :)

Today's Make Up: The "Peacock" of "Bora Bora"

It's weekend everyone, it is weekend!! Hi guys! And how are you all doin' ?
Another breezy yet warm day here in the AZ, which I spent out and about. I must say, I dreaded less being out today then yesterday, maybe the fact that the sun was out and warming things up had something to do with it, maybe. Like I said, I am a true Arizonan girl, I like my sun. 8-)
Able to get some sleep last night, I woke up more of less refreshed this morning. I was in the mood to do a full face of makeup today. Yes, less is more and natural beauty is always better but sometimes, sometimes you just gotta glamafy yourself! And that sometimes is today. I felt like spending an hour to myself just applying makeup, that's all; just me, myself and I, alone in my makeup room.
Today's Make Up: The "Peacock" of "Bora Bora"

I used an eyeshadow quad called Bora Bora from Be A Bombshell. I did a whole entire blog entry in details and swatches a while ago, click here if you are interested. :P

Today's Make Up: "Strawberry Milk" Flavored "Cotton Candy"

Hello Friday everyone!!!! How are you all doing?? Are we all recovered from the hectic Christmas day? LOL.
I am very blessed to have family that totally can read my mind. Haha. We all went out to dim sum this morning. Never gonna complain about having dim sum, especially with these crazy people I call family. :P Love them to bits and pieces... Even though they are so loud. Typical Asians.
After dim sum, we actually went post Christmas shopping and just wandered everywhere really. No matter doing what, I just love spending time with them. There seriously needs to be more holidays when everyone is off and can get together. Not enough, ever.
The makeup mess today includes a few old faves and some new products. I'll use this (not so) new mascara and let y'all know how it works on my thick and heavy lashes.

Today's Make Up: "Metropolitan Mauve" Meets "Olympian Blue"

Hello Thursday everyone!! Happy almost-weekend all! For many, weekend already started at the end of the work day today while for others, that will begin tomorrow. Either way, another weekend is underway!! Hooray!!!! :D
I come to you all with this post from the food court of a mall. I was... forced? Obligated? Begged. Yes, my little cousins begged me to take them to the mall for something and they've been about since, leaving me with my phone and tablet alone at the food court. Haha. It's okay, I'll work with what I have.
I was rudely awoken early this morning by some friends, demanding I go to breakfast with them. Waking me up is never a good idea, especially when I didn't get any sleep the night prior. But being a good friend, I braved the cold and got up. And guess what! Another lazy makeup day for me today. Haha. :P
The specialty for today is the contrast of the vibrant blue and a pink mauve on a bare canvas.
Today's Make Up: "Metropolitan Mauve" Meets "Olympian Blue"
FACE
Essence Forget It! 3-in-1 Concealer
Revlon Nearly Naked Pressed Powder in Fair

Essence Long Lasting Eye Pencil in Hot Chocolate
Milani Powder Eyeshadow in Olympian Blue
Benefit They're Real! Mascara
LIPS
NYC City Proof Twistable Intense Lip Color in Metropolitan Mauve
I swept Iced Latte all over my lids to brighten up my sleepy eyes. I lined my lower lash line with Olympian Blue for a pop of color because everything else was so plain.
I must say, this Twistable Intense Lip Color cannot compare to my favorite balm stains. But that aside, I do enjoy the pigmentation it provides my lips. I did apply a lip balm underneath, that is not something I am willing to gamble with. The application was smooth and glided on with ease. There were no weird smells that I can make out and it was very comfortable on my lips. It did started drying out maybe 3 hours after application but I was already expecting that.
Thank you for visiting and thanks for reading. Enjoy the rest of your day. Please come back soon! :)

Today's Make Up: Make It "Smoky" With A Side Of "Sheer Red"

Friday greetings y'all and happy weekend!! How are all you lovelies doing this fine Friday? This week seemed to have flown past like a gust of wind, but I'm not complaining though, the weekend is always welcomed here. LOL.
Imma be spending this weekend mostly at home, getting the tree and decorations up. I am actually super late this year, last year and the many years before that, the tree went up at the latest, the Saturday after Thanksgiving. I have no idea what happened this year, got older I guess... :/ Hahaha. But yeah, tree will go up, decorations will be hung while I sip on hot cocoa, blasting Christmas carols. LOL. 'Tis the season.
Roamed the wet and humid streets today with the brother. Sibling bonding time, hooray!! Weather is still gloomy as ever, no rain though, which is a slight disappointment to me. On days like this, I tend to sport bold lips to compensate for the dreary weather. Today, I have on luscious red lips, paired with purple smoky eyes.

BH Cosmetics BH Party Girl Waterproof Gel Eyeliner Pencil in Spin
Maybelline The Mega Plush Volume Express Mascara
LIPS
NYC Ultra Moist Lip Wear in Sheer Red
Nothing special on the face today because I usually do not wear much face makeup on humid days. Humidity alone makes me want to tear my skin off, wearing a thick face of makeup is just unimaginable. So just some creamy concealer and a hydrating BB Cream. True Plum is a berry-plum matte-ish blush. Love it to bits.
I was in an adventurous mood this morning, so I created a purple smoky eyes, something I usually do not wear. The purple shades on this palette is just gorgeous. I actually have a whole post about this palette with swatches if you're interested. SMOKY PALETTE
Y'all enjoy the rest of your day now. Thanks for visiting and thank you for reading. Please come back soon! :)

Today's Make Up: "Pink Punch" "Punk"

Saturday greetings my pretties! I hope you are all enjoying your Thanksgiving weekend. Four days off for most of us but two days down already... We are now back to a regular weekend.  Everything happening so soon. :/ I don't think I am recovered from the chaotic weekend as of yet.
We will finally have our formal Thanksgiving dinner tonight. Everyone is exhausted but shopping is done and over with. Thank goodness. Now it's time to just kick back and relax these last two days.
I have had face full of makeup on for long periods of time these last couple of days so I tried to tone it down a little today. It is just going to be dinner at home with the family, not going anywhere fancy.

Minimal face makeup today; just concealer and a bit of powder to set and some bronzer to sculpt and contour.
As for the eyes, a bit of champagne eyeshadow swept across the lid and tight line with a pencil liner, finished off with a sweep of mascara. My eyes seemed somewhat boring so I added a pop of lime green shadow to my lower lash line to keep things fresh.
Last but not least, just a pop of sheer pink lip balm on the lips for color and moisture alike.
Y'all enjoy the rest of your weekend now! Be safe and stay warm!!

Today's Make Up: Black Friday Ready Makeup

Although I am all about being grateful and giving thanks everyday and not just one day out of the year, it is however Thanksgiving Day. And what do we do on Thanksgiving Day besides eating to our heats' desire without feeling guilty? Haha. Yep, give thanks and be thankful.
This Thanksgiving, like all the others before, I am grateful for my family, my friends, my home, my life, being alive and healthy but this year, unlike others, I am thankful for you guys. All of you. :) I started my blog last December so this is the first Thanksgiving I am celebrating with y'all.
I'd like to take a moment to thank y'all whether you're a follower, a regular visitor or even a wanderer that happens to stumble upon my page. Whoever that takes their time to read what I have to say, I'd like to thank.  Each views means a whole lot to me because I know that someone, somewhere is reading what I say. That alone, means so much to me. So thank you!!
But anyways, even though it is Thanksgiving today, the family will not be having our dinner today. Yeah... I blame retail. :/ They're one upping one another and opening earlier and earlier, as early as 5 PM in my area. And of course, the sales are too sweet to pass up so my aunts are all going crazy. So we all agreed, albeit not happily, to move dinner until tomorrow night so they can go get their shops on today and tomorrow morning. There's no point in me just waiting around at home ya know... Imma be joining them, or rather, embark on my own journey. LOL.
Makeup today is long wearing and budge free, in other words, Black Friday ready makeup. ;)
Today's Make Up: Black Friday Ready Makeup

Milani Shadow Eyez in Champagne Toast
Maybelline The Mega Plush Volume Express Mascara
LIPS
Peri Pera Peri's Tint Water in Pink Juice
Maybelline Baby Lips Crystal in Mirrored Mauve
I chose concealers that will not dry my skin out bu midnight. It will be one long night so I applied Brightening Peach to my under eyes to assure that I will look refreshed throughout the night. I mixed a bit of BB Cream and long lasting foundation to give me coverage without wearing too thick of face makeup. I also stayed away from products that has shine, glow or shimmer in risking looking like an oily disco ball by the end of the night. I used Instain as my blush of choice because I know this blush will not budge on me. Just a little will go a loooong way.
Eyes are kept as simple as can be. First with a primer to ensure no creasing and/or fading until I decide to remove it tomorrow morning. Then I swept Sin all over my eyelids, keeping the edges clean from corner to corner. Next I used Perversion to tight line my waterline and gave it a little flick at the outer corner. Then I used Champagne Toast to rim my entire lower lash line to create a wide eyed, awake illusion. This will definitely come in handy later tonight. Lastly I gave my lashes a good curl and coated them in mascara.
After giving my lips a good scrubba dub dub, I applied a moisturizing lip balm. Then I applied two coats of Pink Juice, allowing it to dry before topping off with Mirrored Mauve.
Wearing makeup for 24-ish hours can really take a toll on my skin. So to ensure that my face retain its moisture and not gets the life sucked outta em, I brought along a travel sized can of Avene Thermal Spring Water.
I wish everyone of you a Happy Thanksgiving. Spend it with your loved ones and make great memories. Please enjoy your weekend and be safe!
As always, thank you for visiting and thanks for reading. Please come back soon. :)

Today's Make Up: I Want Candy!

Hiiiiiiiii guuuuys!! D-2 until Thanksgiving and I am in hyper mode running my butt off to make way for the food coma that's to come. :D

The roads and stores were packed today... already! I cannot imagine how it will be tomorrow, yet tomorrow, I'll have to make a final trip to the store to buy what's left on the list that is yet to be composed by my mom and aunt. :/ I will have a FANTASTIC time tomorrow trying to navigate my way through the stores and try not to curse too much while driving. Haha.

I took another trip to the airport today to pick up the last of the family friends that will be joining us for Thanksgiving this year. While we were out anyways, we decided to finish up the home shopping for their house. I usually don't like to stereotype, but I get why they say that Canadians are unnecessarily well mannered and polite. LOL. These guys might just be the most well mannered men I have ever seen in my life.

Annnnnyways, on the face today are the semi-mess below. TOM is currently visiting so my face is exploding with zits... those nasty, disgusting unwanted zits. So I am trying to keep my face makeup as light as possible.

Today's Make Up: Fairytale

Happy, happy, happy Saturday everyone! How are y'all doing this fine Saturday? I am doing well, besides the fact that my fingers might be a little stiff and frozen. Haha. My poor phalanges are taking the abuse whilst the rest of me are bundled up. Maybe it's just me, but my hands and feet are usually the first body parts to be cold, and the last to be warmed up. It takes forever to warm them up, which is frustrating. Cold feet is no laughing matter. LOL.

Although it is Saturday, no family gathering today. We are saving that for next week. As for this week, we all have our own ish to do. For me, I have to take those new Arizona residents around so they can pick up things for for their house to make it homely. I usually like to spend my weekend lounging around being lazy but it is quite nice to be productive on the weekend. Let's not make it a habit though. :P

The mess below are products on the face today. My makeup nowadays are very similar day to day. I've been too lazy to be experimental... I know that's bad to say. I did however, messed around with the eye makeup today using a palette that has not seen light since a while ago. Haha.

Today's Make Up: Fairytale

FACE
NYX Pore Filler
Benefit Erase Paste in Medium
Covergirl + Olay Concealer Balm in Fair

Maybelline The Mega Plush Volume Express Mascara

LIPS
the Balm Stainiac in Beauty Queen
Jordana Twist & Shine Moisturizing Balm Stain in Sweet Pink

Again with the luminous bare face. Ugh!! It is too easy to wear that I keep going back to it. It looks so freaken naturally beautiful. I must say, this L'Oreal Magic Lumi Light Infusing primer is perfect for this exact look. It gives off the most subtle glow without making me look too oily or too shiny. I am still in a very berry mood and did not hesitate to show that on my cheeks.

I did a simple smoky with this Covergirl palette. These new palettes cannot even compare to the old ones Covergirl used to have. You know those blue package ones? Even though they claimed that the formula didn't change, I find that hard to believe. The old ones applied like butter whereas the new ones are more dry and sometimes flaky. I also found this new palette less pigmented than the old ones. And no, this isn't the first time I used this palette... There's a reason why I haven't used it when I have so many other options to choose from. LOL.

My very berry mood did not extend to my lips today as I wanted pink lips instead. After applying a lip stain as a base, I applied a muted pink balm stain to the pouters. Love the color combination.

I hope all of you are having a great weekend by far. Enjoy the rest of your weekend. Thank you for visiting and thanks for reading. Please come back soon! :)

Today's Make Up: "Blushing Rose" Of "Sultry"

Happy Friday all! Raise your hands if any of you is TGIFing with me!! Haha. As of today, we are six days away from Thanksgiving. Who is excited?! Everyone? Okay, good, I thought I was alone. LOL.

I motivated myself to run, run, run yesterday. That motivation was still lingering today as I started out my morning with a quick jog around the neighborhood because it was such a beautiful morning. I luckily got home in the neck of time before dark clouds started rolling in and the wind started picking up. Since then, my day has been smooth sailing, even with all the errands I had to run.

I have a slight headache and cramp at the moment but it's not enough to ruin my day... yet. Let's hope it doesn't get to that point.

Any who, pulled out my Lorac Pro palette that's been neglected for god knows how long. I still need to get my hands on the Lorac Mega Pro but I can do without it for now. It is definitely on my Christmas wishlist. :P

Today's Make Up: "Blushing Rose" Of "Sultry"

FACE
Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser
Pixi Correction Concentration in Brightening Peach
Revlon Photo Ready Concealer in Light

Etude House Tear Eyeliner in Silver Tear
Elizabeth Mott It's So Big Volumizing Mascara

LIPS
Revlon Color Burst Matte Balm in Sultry

I cannot get enough of this face you guys. This luminous bare face has been my go to all week if y'all have been keeping up. I used a mauvey-berry shade of blush today. These Jordana blushes are crazy pigmented so just a light dab of the brush is enough. Do not swirl it because that will not end well... Unless you're going for a clown look or something exotic.

My eyes are kept fairly simple, as always. I wanted to go for an especially large doll-like eyes today. I extended the liner far beyond my outer corner and used dark shadows to create am extended wing to create an illusion of large eyes. I added a bit of Tear Liner to the inner corner of my lower lash line to further give that innocent-like sparkle.

Sultry is the type of shade that I don't really sport because it makes me look older. It's just one of those shade I cannot pull off. However, I went all daredevil and wore this mauveish shade. I can't say I hate it, but it surely isn't a favorite. I love these type of balm stains for chilly days like today.

As the days become colder, the more moisture is sucked out of my skin. Ewww. Thank godness these Avene Thermal Spring Water are life savers. A quick mist and I am good to go. A full sized bottle at home and a travel size for on the go.

Y'all enjoy your weekend now. Stay safe and bundle up!! Thank you for visiting and thanks for reading. Please do come back soon. :)
