Today's Make Up: Lady And The Vamp

Hello my adventurous blog readers!! How are you all doing this firs Thursday of 2015?

I could be doing better. Would rather be at home, Netflixing it on such a breezy day, but nooooo, instead, I am out chilling at several government offices since morning. LOL. Yeah... my day was THAT bad. Haha. DMV AND Social Security office? Gosh... :/

I threw on some makeup today, with everything working around vampy lips. It just HAD to be vampy lips. No details today because I literally JUST got home. But with these products, I guess it is pretty self explanatory.

Today's Make Up: Fairytale

Happy, happy, happy Saturday everyone! How are y'all doing this fine Saturday? I am doing well, besides the fact that my fingers might be a little stiff and frozen. Haha. My poor phalanges are taking the abuse whilst the rest of me are bundled up. Maybe it's just me, but my hands and feet are usually the first body parts to be cold, and the last to be warmed up. It takes forever to warm them up, which is frustrating. Cold feet is no laughing matter. LOL. 

Although it is Saturday, no family gathering today. We are saving that for next week. As for this week, we all have our own ish to do. For me, I have to take those new Arizona residents around so they can pick up things for for their house to make it homely. I usually like to spend my weekend lounging around being lazy but it is quite nice to be productive on the weekend. Let's not make it a habit though. :P

The mess below are products on the face today. My makeup nowadays are very similar day to day. I've been too lazy to be experimental... I know that's bad to say. I did however, messed around with the eye makeup today using a palette that has not seen light since a while ago. Haha.

Again with the luminous bare face. Ugh!! It is too easy to wear that I keep going back to it. It looks so freaken naturally beautiful. I must say, this L'Oreal Magic Lumi Light Infusing primer is perfect for this exact look. It gives off the most subtle glow without making me look too oily or too shiny. I am still in a very berry mood and did not hesitate to show that on my cheeks.

I did a simple smoky with this Covergirl palette. These new palettes cannot even compare to the old ones Covergirl used to have. You know those blue package ones? Even though they claimed that the formula didn't change, I find that hard to believe. The old ones applied like butter whereas the new ones are more dry and sometimes flaky. I also found this new palette less pigmented than the old ones. And no, this isn't the first time I used this palette... There's a reason why I haven't used it when I have so many other options to choose from. LOL.

My very berry mood did not extend to my lips today as I wanted pink lips instead. After applying a lip stain as a base, I applied a muted pink balm stain to the pouters. Love the color combination.

Mini-Haul: Ulta & Walgreens

Hellooooo everyone! Once again another Hump Day, almost there folks. Alllllmost theeeere. In the mean time, let's join me for yet another haul post, well mini-haul. These were actually bought last week, but I didn't get around to organize them until today. It's just a few things I picked up while I was at Ulta and Walgreens. They're all mostly lip products and a few nails. Here, I'll just show you...

My night lip balm ran out so I picked up this Nivea to give it a try. I always apply a lightweight lip balm before heading off to bed to keep my lips hydrated and lock in the moisture. Seriously, do this and your lips will be silky smooth, baby skin soft in the morning. I've been using this since last week and I must say, feels pretty comfortable on my lips, no weird scent, feels light, not tacky or sticky. It's perfect, I like it.

Most of the Wet N Wild products at my Walgreens were on sale, 50% to 75% off. These Balm Stains were like a dollar each, so why not right? I bought one shade a while ago in A Stiff Pink, a bright bubble gum pink. It's not the most hydrating balm stain I own, but it's definitely not the most drying. DO wear a clear LIP BALM underneath though. The only thing I have to complain about this stain is that after it sets on my lips, maybe, 15 minutes after applying, the color totally changes. When first applied, the shade on the lips looks identical to that from the pencil, however, after 15 minutes, it turned to a whole 'nother shade, like a dark, rosy pink. It's not just once either, it happened to me every time I wear it. So I'm not sure if it's just the lighter shade or not, so I'll give these darker shades a wear to see what will happen. Besides that, there's really nothing else that bothers me. The scent, unlike the Fergie Vicious Varnish High Shine Lip Stain, is very faint to the point where I can't even smell it. That is a relief.

Because I own so many Balm Stains, I will eventually do an updated recommendation post. So if you're into Balm Stains, please be on the lookout.

Now for NYX, love NYX. I picked up the last two shades from the Butter Lip Balm, now I own all of the shades. These Lip Balms are amazing, the color is so pigmented, so comfortable on the lips, long-wearing, moisturizing, low maintenance. These are my on the go Lip Balms. It gives me color, does exactly what a lip balm is supposed to do and does not need a mirror to apply.

Bright pink Butter Gloss, ah, yes please. I have been into the bright pink lips lately, this shade in Cupcake will be perfect to top it off. I love how this gloss feels on my lips, and you all know how much I dislike lip glosses. These Butter Gloss does not bother me because it's not like a normal glosses, it's more of a high shine lipstick. That, I can deal with.

Just another pretty pink shade of Butter Lipstick. Love, love, loooooove these Butter Lipstick. Even though I do love these lipsticks, I really do think I'm being biased. To be quite honest, there's nothing especially special about these lipsticks. They're hydrating, long wearing but still moisturizing, pigmented, comfortable on the lips...many other brands have lipsticks with the same qualities. I am just a huge NYX fan and think the shade selection is superb so I pick them up.

I loved the Nail Art Dry Drops so much I decided to stock up and buy another bottle. The Essence section at my Ulta hardly ever gets stocked up and Essence might discontinue this product (like they always do), so stocking up on a beloved Essence product is totally necessary. If you don't remember, I first gave this a go when I did my Easter nails a couple of weeks ago and I immediately fell in love. From the moment you drop the liquid onto the nails, one or two seconds later, it becomes dry. This thing is AMAZING! I urge you to give it a try, it's very affordable, only $2.99 at my local Ulta.

There's only so much one can do with their nails (at home at least), so I find ways to jazz it up to not be boring. I was into the whole Ciate Caviar crazed back when they first came out; I only bought one kit though, the price was a definite turn off. Can you guess how excited I was when I came across these beads? These were either $2.99 or $3.99, waaaaaaay cheaper than Ciate is what the price is. But ya know, you get what you pay for, I don't expect this to be on the same level as Ciate, but hoping it's at least worth the price.

The Walgreens' Beauty Expert stuck this into my bag after ringing me up. Samples are always nice, I shall give these a try to see how  they are, even though I already have the Damage Eraser Butter.  I bought it a while ago but I have not started using it yet. I'm actually waiting for the Summer, when my hair gets super dried and damaged from the chlorine and sun.

I'm actually more interested in the Hydra Recharge, it claims to keep hair hydrated, weightlessly silky for two whole days. Hmmm.

Unexpected Haul

Ran some errands yesterday, picked up a few things here and there to what now turns out to be a haul post. Hmm... Here goes, the unexpected haul.

Can you guess who super excited I was when I saw the new Sinful Colors display when I walked into Walgreens?! Yes...I was ecstatic!! There had to be at least 30 new shades out, but I was all over the pastels. If you're a regular of my blog, you already know that I am a Sinful Color fanatic, so Sinful Colors in pastel is like ice cream with a cherry on top. I cannot wait to use them! I also came across the new limited edition Wet N Wild display which had four Mega Last nail polishes. I picked up two of the four, one shimmery lavender, the other shimmery rose gold. The picture does not do any of the nail polishes I picked up any justice.

Yes...more pink balm stains...I can't help myself. Balm stains are the most life changing products to ever happen to me. I love all of the balm stains I own, like Revlon, Jordana, Neutragena and ELF. Balm stains are the new IT thing, so every company is trying to come up with their own version. I said before that Wet N Wild is one of my favorite drug store brand with most hits than miss in the eyeshadow and lip department. But no one is perfect, the last lip product they came out with was a total flop in my opinion. I do have high hopes for this new balm stain...it would break my heart if it were to flop again... NYC Color is one of those brand I don't mention often, but own a lot of their products, mostly their nail polishes. I have a few of their lip sticks so I really don't have a reference before using this new balm stain. Actually, this jumbo lip pencil has neither balm nor stain in its name. So I have to keep this in mind when using it; if it so happens that my lips become dry or the color fades, they're not to blame because that isn't what they claim to be. From above, the top swatches are the lip colors straight from the jumbo pencils and the bottom is the stain it left upon removing them. I have my fingers crossed for the Wet N Wild Balm Stain to be honest, please don't let me down.

I honestly do not need anymore eyeshadows...but seriously, how can anyone resist these?! Wet N Wild revamped their packaging and came out with new 5-pan palettes. I believe there are four or five new palettes released, but I only picked up two. I could not pass on the naked one... They also have two new 8-pan palettes of which I bought one called Poster Child, such fun colors. Along with the limited edition display where I picked up my nail polishes, there were two 8-pan palettes as well. I picked up Flirting At The After Party, but I was really, really interested in the Walking The Red Carpet. There was only one palette left but it was a mess, all of the eyeshadow broke and it was just everywhere. Sigh...I wanted that palette so bad! I will get my hands on that palette, just wait.

Remember last week when I talked about my current fave pink and coral blush? I said Milani came out with two new baked blush and I couldn't wait to get my hands on it? Yeah? Well, look! Aren't they gorgeous??? Unlike the baked blush that came out before, these are matte.

I have endlessly searched for the Maybelline Baby Skin when I was heard about it. It took forever and a day for it to finally hit stores in Arizona. Sooooo looking forward to throw this product into my daily male up routine.

HAIR
Garnier Fructis Damage Eraser Strength Reconstruction Butter

This is not so much for me, but for my brother. He has such dry, course hair. I'll have him use it and tell me how it is. Of course I'm gonna try it out myself too, but I doubt it'll make a difference to my hair which isn't "damaged". Thanks to my hair routine, my hair is silky and healthy.
