Today's Make Up: "Blushing Rose" Of "Sultry"

Happy Friday all! Raise your hands if any of you is TGIFing with me!! Haha. As of today, we are six days away from Thanksgiving. Who is excited?! Everyone? Okay, good, I thought I was alone. LOL.

I motivated myself to run, run, run yesterday. That motivation was still lingering today as I started out my morning with a quick jog around the neighborhood because it was such a beautiful morning. I luckily got home in the neck of time before dark clouds started rolling in and the wind started picking up. Since then, my day has been smooth sailing, even with all the errands I had to run.

I have a slight headache and cramp at the moment but it's not enough to ruin my day... yet. Let's hope it doesn't get to that point.

Any who, pulled out my Lorac Pro palette that's been neglected for god knows how long. I still need to get my hands on the Lorac Mega Pro but I can do without it for now. It is definitely on my Christmas wishlist. :P

Today's Make Up: "Blushing Rose" Of "Sultry"

FACE
Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser
Pixi Correction Concentration in Brightening Peach
Revlon Photo Ready Concealer in Light
Hard Candy Sheer Envy Skin Illuminating Primer
Maybelline Dream Fresh BB 8-in-1 Beauty Balm Skin Perfecter in Light/MediumMaybelline Dream Wonder Powder in Classic Ivory
NYC Smooth Skin Bronzer in Sunny
Wet N Wild Color Icon Bronzer in Reserve Your Cabana
Jordana Blush Powder in Blushing Rose

EYES
Urban Decay Primer Potion
Lorac Pro Eyeshadow Palette
NYX The Curve in Black
Etude House Tear Eyeliner in Silver Tear
Elizabeth Mott It's So Big Volumizing Mascara

LIPS
Revlon Color Burst Matte Balm in Sultry

I cannot get enough of this face you guys. This luminous bare face has been my go to all week if y'all have been keeping up. I used a mauvey-berry shade of blush today. These Jordana blushes are crazy pigmented so just a light dab of the brush is enough. Do not swirl it because that will not end well... Unless you're going for a clown look or something exotic.

My eyes are kept fairly simple, as always. I wanted to go for an especially large doll-like eyes today. I extended the liner far beyond my outer corner and used dark shadows to create am extended wing to create an illusion of large eyes. I added a bit of Tear Liner to the inner corner of my lower lash line to further give that innocent-like sparkle.

Sultry is the type of shade that I don't really sport because it makes me look older. It's just one of those shade I cannot pull off. However, I went all daredevil and wore this mauveish shade. I can't say I hate it, but it surely isn't a favorite. I love these type of balm stains for chilly days like today.

As the days become colder, the more moisture is sucked out of my skin. Ewww. Thank godness these Avene Thermal Spring Water are life savers. A quick mist and I am good to go. A full sized bottle at home and a travel size for on the go.

Y'all enjoy your weekend now. Stay safe and bundle up!! Thank you for visiting and thanks for reading. Please do come back soon. :)

Today's Make Up: NS Yoon-G "Yasisi" Inspired Makeup

"It's sexual, it's sexual"
Helllllllo Tuesday all! Hope your day has been well. I am having a terrific day;
it's been a while.

About today's post, I am suuuuuper, duuuuper, uppppppber excited to share!!!!!!!!!! One of my adored K-Pop soloist dropped her MV last night, and it was really love at first sight for me, her make up. Oh my gosh....oh my gosh. Her make up was so on par, it was magnificent, it inspired me. I had to recreate her make up look today.

She had three, at most four different make up looks in the whole MV. I must say, I loved every single look she sported, I was in awed every single frame she was in.

Inspired look for today.

Gosh she is gorgeousEpitome of a sexy, confident goddess. Anyways, here we go, what I used to try to recreate her make up look.

Today's Make Up: NS Yoon-G "Yasisi" Inspired

FACE
Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser
Covergirl + Olay Concealer Balm in Fair
Benefit Erase Paste in Medium
Skin79 Super+ BB Triple Functions
Revlon Nearly Naked Pressed Powder in Fair
Maybelline Dream Mousse Bronzer in Sun Glow
Physicians Formula Happy Booster Glow & Mood Boosting Powder in Translucent
Hard Candy Baked Blush in Living Doll

EYES
Maybelline 24Hr Color Tattoo in Barely Beige
Lorac Pro Eye Shadow Palette
L'Oreal 24H Infallible Lacquer Liner in Blackest Black
Covergirl Lash Blast Fusion in Very Black

LIPS
ELF Essential Jumbo Lip Gloss Stick in In The Nude
City Color Auto Lip Pencil in Pink

What better way to get that "natural" skin look from a K-Pop MV than to use a Korean brand makeup? I keep forgetting to use my Skin79 BB Cream when the weather is still pleasant out because once the temperature reaches the 90 or 100, I most likely will not be able to use it. I love the dewiness this BB Cream gives my skin.

I'd like to clarify before hand that I'm not claiming this is how to get the exact look. This is how I interpret her looks, this is how I see it and what I see as the key factors. That's the beauty of makeup, anyone can be inspired and interpret it in their very own way.

Like Yoon-G's face, I also kept mine very "natural", meaning everything - foundation, bronzer and blush - are kept very minimal. This BB Cream has very light coverage but very buildable. However, I did not want to cake on the cream, that would look very heavy and unnatural. I used a very moisturizing, full coverage concealer so I was able to use only one thin layer of the BB Cream. I chose a mousse bronzer because they are easy to blend, thus not having that harsh contour visible with powder bronzers. I also opted for a subtle, light pink blush. Korean artists almost always sport the barely there blush or a very subtle pink one. This baked blush gives my cheeks the right amount of color so my face won't look sickly. From how I see it, having a "natural" face can make your face look very flat. But thank goodness there are highlights. Don't go over board with it but only use it where the sun naturally hits your face.

The eyes, once again are the focal point here. With the face looking so natural, Yoon-G brought the attention to her eyes with intense winged liner. In this particular look I'm basing my look from, her winged liner is kept clean, not smoked out like one of her other looks. I did use a pearly beige as a base shadow, to wake up my eyes. I also used a gel liner instead of a liquid liner because I wanted a softer look; liquid liner would have been too harsh, I think. The eyes as a whole are kept very alert and clean with light shadow on the lower lash line and inner corner with a soft winged liner.

Popsicle stained lips or ombre lips have been my favorite lip trend. Super happy she sported all shades of them in the MV. The look I'm going for she actually used a lilac shade, which is what I used. I used a nude lip pencil to nude out my lips, then blotted the shine away. Then I took the lilac lip pencil and filled in my inner lips and pressed my lips together. This can cause your lips to look super dry so be sure to put on a moisturizing lip balm before you apply any lip color.

That was super fun! She still has three other looks that I might even try to recreate sometime this week if not next.

I really appreciate each and every one of your visits and reads from both followers and non-followers. I hope it has been an enjoyable read for ya'll and I will continue to work hard to bring your more exciting posts. Thank you so much! :)

Current Favorite Eye Shadow: Nude

Drug Store & High End
Drug Store & High End
A couple of posts ago, I made it quite obvious that I was a huge lip junkie. If there's anything I adore more than my lip products, it has to be my eyeshadows; whether it's a palette, duo, quad or singles, I love, love, loooove them all! Over the years, I have tried  many, many products, some are great while others were flops. Nothing annoys me more than eyeshadows that are unpigmented, flaky or dried and fall outs...those darn fall outs. But that doesn't stop me from venturing out to try new brands and products.
In today's post, I will share with you my current favorite go to eyeshadow palettesnude edition. I've been into the nude eyes lately, it just makes life so much easier and if done right, can transform your eyes from sleepy to totally bright and awake.
I feel so bad for having this many "go to" products, but I really do use all of them on rotation. I really cannot choose a favorite, but if I was told to throw everything away and was only allowed to keep one and ONLY one, I think I will have to choose the Sonia Kashuk Eye on Neutral Shimmer. That palette is seriously very versatile, I can get the natural look by day and transform it into a smokey for night. Sonia Kashuk's eyeshadows are so creamy, so buttery, so very pigmented; I've said it before and I will say it again, her products never disappoints me.
You'll probably notice that I did not include, probably the most popular nude palettes known in the make up world, the Urban Decay NakedNaked 2 and Naked 3 palettes. Like I said, they're so popular and well known that I don't think I need to mention them as a favorite. I will say, however, that out of the three Nakeds, Naked 3 is my favorite. I really like the rose-gold shades, it's so pretty.
Let's start with what I did mention. First up are my high end pick, Urban Decay and Lorac. I chose to mention Naked Basics out of all the Nakeds because I find this cute little thing very handy and portable. Although it does not have as many shades to choose from, it does have the basics...hahaha. I can easily create a simple natural eye with this effortlessly. Not my all time favorite but I do reach for it when I am in a hurry to do an eye look, no brainer. The convenience of the Lorac Pro palette is that it has both matte and shimmer shades, equivalence to each other all in one palette. It also ranges from hightlight shades all the way to a deep dark black shade; again, it is one of those day to night type palette.

NYX has got to be the most favorite over-all-products brand of all time for me. Lipstick, lip balm, lipgloss, eyeshadows, foundations, eye liner, blush...I can go on and on about everything that I love about NYX. Here are my NYX pick, The Runway Collection in Caviar & Bubbles and Butt Naked Eyes. I have traveled with just the Butt Naked palette before, no need to bring blush, bronzer and hightlight either because it is ever so conveniently in the palette as well. These blushes are no different from their original blush sold separately, same quality.
Physicians Formula is a hit and miss brand for me. I can love one product but absolutely hate another. Its never been a brand that I check up on constantly. Even though it is a drug store brand, the prices are on the higher end. For a brand whose quality isn't constant with a price like such, it's not hard to understand why. However, I absolutely love their shimmer strips custom eye enhancing shadows, Nude in particular. It's not the best of the best, say, compared to Sonia Kashuk or NYX, or even Wet N Wild, but for Physicians Formula's standard, this is good. Physicians Formula has one thing right, their cute packaging. It is one of the few brands with impressive packaging currently out there...that isn't Asian brand related.

Sonia Kashuk, please repeat after me guys, has never disappoint me! Case in point, two of her palettes made it on my list. Eye on Neutral is all matte shades while Eye on Neutral Shimmer are all shimmer shades. The shades from both palettes correspond with each other. How these two palettes work hand in hand like this, it reminds me a lot of the Lorac Pro. This can actually be Lorac's dupes because both have the same consistency, same creaminess; Sonia Kashuk is like the Lorac of the drug store. One down side is that since one palette is all matte while the other is all shimmer, you'll need both to mix and match, which is an inconvenient, especially for traveling.

The last bunch of nudes. Maybelline and Cover Girl are basically two of the few great drug store brands out there. They have way more hits than misses so that's okay; their prices are average, though it will become costly to buy all of their new products... Marketing done right. Maybelline Eye Studio Color Plush is one of the best line Maybelline has in my opinion. Every single one of the quads, limited edition included, are always a must buy for me. The shadows are so silky and it's crazy how pigmented they are. To represent Maybelline in this Nude battle, I selected three quads, two regular and one limited edition.
I enjoy Maybelline eyeshadows more than Cover Girl, not saying that Cover Girl does not have great eyeshadows; they do but they just never have that appeal to me. I own maybe four or five and I make good use of all of them. This Cover Girl Eye Enhancer in Fard Accent is one of the most basic quads I have. The shades are all nude-ish, nothing too dark, nothing too shimmery. It is basically the go to quad to brighten up your eyes after pulling an all-nighter.
I don't know how Wet N Wild does it, but I'm glad they do. Because of their super affordable prices, I purchase every single eyeshadow that they put out. They have out many trios, ranging from nudes to tropic to rainbows of colors. Even though they're one of the cheapest drug store brand, they have qualities that can be matched with high end brands like Urban Decay or Two Faced. I really had a hard time choosing which trios and palettes to show because there are quite a few good neutral, nude shades but I ended up choosing these three because they match with this post more. These are more nude tone while the ones I didn't choose are more bronze, copper-ish.
Next to last, my Hard Candy Baked Eyeshadow duo in Peace. I absolutely love Hard Candy's Baked line, blush, bronzer, highlight and eyeshadows; actually, the Baked line is basically all I love when it comes to Hard Candy. Wait...no, I lied, I like their Glamouflage heavy duty concealer, primer and Glow All the Way. So quite a few, but eyeshadow wise, I only enjoy their baked line. This is a shimmery duo but it can give you what you need. I create eye looks with just this duo all the time. When you use these baked shadows wet, it will give you an entirely different look then when you use it dry. It's pretty interesting.  Don't get me wrong, this isn't a shadow that you need to use it wet in order to pick up the pigment, it's just another method to use it.
Lastly is this quad I got with a purchase from Ulta. I believe this used to be a quad from their eyeshadow line, but got discontinued or something. I'm not sure, but I got this quad maybe one and half years ago. I don't really use this when I'm at home, because of its small size, it's always in my bag for back up. It served me well a couple of time when there was an emergency so I felt like I need to add it to the list, as a thank you. Ha!

And there ya have it. I find it really fun to share with you all my current faves, I might do another one soon. Yeah?
Can you believe it's Thursday already? This week kinda just flew by. But it's almost weekend again, yay! Thank you for reading guys. :)
