Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Custom Eye Enhancing Shadow - Nude

Physicians Formula Shimmer Strip Custom Eye Enhancer Shadow - Nude
Helllllo everyone and happy Tuesday! And before you say anything, there is always a reason to be happy. Gotta think positive; be happy because today is no longer Monday, we're one day closer to weekend.
I hope you all had an enjoyable Monday night. Did ya'll check out my Manicure Monday: Many Shades of Purple yesterday? The shades of purples in a pizzazzed up manicure. Head on over to check it out if you have not already. :P
That was yesterday, for today, I want to share with you a palette I've been using endlessly lately. It's not a big palette, it is quite small with only nine strips of shade. I'm talking about the Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Custom Eye Enhancing Shadow in the Nude collection.
I don't own a lot of Physicians Formula's eyeshadow, I'm more into their face products. However, I do own three of their Shimmer Strips Custom Eye Enhancing Shadow collection, okay, that is waaaaaay too long to keep typing, from this point onward, I shall refer to it simply as Nude. Out of the three, I must say I favorite this one the most. It's just so easy to use and wear, albeit all of the shadows are highly shimmery.
I like the formula of the eyeshadows even though the texture isn't as creamy as other shadows, but it isn't dry or flaky either. It just doesn't feel buttery between my fingers. I absolutely adore the fact that these shadows have very little fall outs, if any in that case. My brushes picks up the shadows well, with ease. I have no problem blending these shadows out, nor have issues of them showing up. With that said, these shadows can be worn wet and dry. I usually wear it dry for the softer look...and it's quicker that way. But when I want to intensify the shadow, I'll wear it wet, There is definitely a stark difference between wet and dry. Also, with water, these shadows can be worn as a type of eye liner, especially flattering for the lower lash line.
When it comes to cute packaging, Physicians Formula has got that down. I absolutely adore the cute packaging on this palette so much! The satin nude fabric, covered by black lace, finished off with a nice satin pink bow. How can anyone not love that?! Cute packaging they have down, but not travel-friendly. Their face products especially, they're not compact at all because they all have a compartment for the brush it comes along with so it's very thick and dome-y. It takes up a lot of space in a tiny make up bag. Buttttt, but Nude here is very compact; it is thin and flat. However, the only problem I have with it is that the lid is closed by just a magnet, no clasp or anything to secure it. It could be easily opened, with literally one finger. I took this with me to Vega last July, and the whole time, I was worried that Nude might have accidentally opened and yeah....don't like the idea of a ruin palette and the shadows getting all over. Luckily though, that did not happen because I packed it well.

WISHING THE NEW BYUNTAE/BAEKYEON COUPLE A HAPPY, BRIGHT FUTURE!!

Never think anything is impossible! Regardless to what other fans might say, I, 100% support Taeyeon and Baekhyun. Look at them, they're soo happy! Idols bring us joy, happiness, entertainment, the least we could wish for them is their own happiness. I don't understand how some "fans" can say they feel "betrayed" and go harass Taeyeon or Baekhyun as if they're an ex who just got dumpedNo... Idols and fans are in two different worlds. We idolize them but they don't even know we exist, we're just another screaming fan to them. Idols already sacrificed so much to be where they are today, so if there's anything we can do (or NOT do) to ease their painwhy not?
We don't want them to one by one leave the entertainment industry because they're sick of it... JUST LET THEM BE!

On another note, GO TAEYEON!!!! Noona-Dongsaeng Relationship FTW!!!!!!! Age is but a number...
And jail is but a room... yeah, yeah, yeah. This is differentthree years is nothing!

Did ya'll check out my Manicure Monday: Back to Basics yesterday? I'm sporting some fresh Spring colors on my nails this week. Check it out if you're into light pink, pale blue or beautiful shimmers.

That was yesterday, for today, I want to share with you a palette I've been using endlessly lately. It's not a big palette, it is quite small with only nine strips of shade. I'm talking about the Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Custom Eye Enhancing Shadow in the Nude collection.

I took this with me to Vega last July, and the whole time, I was worried that Nude might have accidentally opened and yeah....don't like the idea of a ruin palette and the shadows getting all over. Luckily though, that did not happen because I packed it well.

Nude has nine shades, with three sets, one can infer. Starting from the top is the lightest shadow, getting slightly darker as we progress with the darkest shade, a charcoal black  being all the way at the bottom. I call the first set, Light, because it includes the lightest of shades. The second set is Medium because the shadows are medium tone with taupe and light brown while the last set is Dark, with dark brown and charcoal.

Light set is the top three shadows. The first shade, on the very top is a light, light beige, for the inner corner and highlight. The middle shade of the set is a beige color, for all over the lids while the third shade of the set, a light, light milk chocolate brown, for the crease. With these three shadows, you can effortlessly create a light nude look.

The Medium set are the three middle shadows. The first one, for highlight and inner corner is a super light pink-coral shade, the all over the lid shade is a pretty taupe color and the third shade for the crease is a light brown. To me, this set is the most natural of the three sets. It's not too dark nor it is too light.

The third set, Dark, includes the three darkest shades in the palette. You can easily create a smokey eye with you use these shades wet, they're so pigmented it's crazy. Because this set is Dark, even the highlight shade is darker than most, it is light taupe, the all over the lid shade is a brown and the crease shade is a charcoal black.

Of course you can mix and match all the shades however you please. Make up is an art, one is not confine to what you're told. You express yourself however you like, with whatever you like. Just because it's suggested that way does not mean you have to wear the shadows in such way, it's only a suggestion. I've mixed up the shades to wear and it came out to my liking.

Thank you for visiting and thanks for reading. :)

Throwback Thursday: Current Faves Perfect for Spring

Time is flying by at a rapid pace, or the week skipped and I wasn't aware or something because it it Thursday already. Time is seriously not kind when you get older. I remember when I was younger, I could not wait for the "long" week to be over, now it is the total opposite. Sigh...
Today's post will be a throwback, not that far back, just last couple of months back to prepare you for Spring. When I think of Springpastels, pinks, corals, soft colors generally come to mind. How lucky am I to have conveniently posted several posts about my current favorite products, which also happens to be Spring inspired as well.
If you love pink lipsthis post is for you. It ranges from tinted lip balms to lip stick to balm stains so no matter what type of lip products you like, there's a pink shade recommended for you.
Soft pink lips are usually accompanied by fresh pink cheeks. In this post, I shared with ya'll my favorite pink and coral blush. Check it out if you are looking for a great, reliable blush to be your new favorite this Spring.
Lastly, I posted about my favorite eyeshadow palettes in Nude. I know it isn't really a Spring trend, but I mean, c'mon, it's Nude, it works year round right? This post is just a bunch of my current favorite nude palettes, mostly drug store and a few high end.
This is a bonus post. I change my manicure every week so it really is hard for me to have a favorite nail polish, but I do trust Sinful Colors and Wet N Wild to always deliver. So even if I haven't tried out these polishes yet, I still want to show you all them in case you want to purchase them yourself. They're fairly popular so you gotta be quick!
Have a great Thursday night everyone. Thank you for reading guys. :)

Current Favorite Eye Shadow: Nude

Drug Store & High End
Drug Store & High End
A couple of posts ago, I made it quite obvious that I was a huge lip junkie. If there's anything I adore more than my lip products, it has to be my eyeshadows; whether it's a palette, duo, quad or singles, I love, love, loooove them all! Over the years, I have tried  many, many products, some are great while others were flops. Nothing annoys me more than eyeshadows that are unpigmented, flaky or dried and fall outs...those darn fall outs. But that doesn't stop me from venturing out to try new brands and products.
In today's post, I will share with you my current favorite go to eyeshadow palettesnude edition. I've been into the nude eyes lately, it just makes life so much easier and if done right, can transform your eyes from sleepy to totally bright and awake.
I feel so bad for having this many "go to" products, but I really do use all of them on rotation. I really cannot choose a favorite, but if I was told to throw everything away and was only allowed to keep one and ONLY one, I think I will have to choose the Sonia Kashuk Eye on Neutral Shimmer. That palette is seriously very versatile, I can get the natural look by day and transform it into a smokey for night. Sonia Kashuk's eyeshadows are so creamy, so buttery, so very pigmented; I've said it before and I will say it again, her products never disappoints me.
You'll probably notice that I did not include, probably the most popular nude palettes known in the make up world, the Urban Decay NakedNaked 2 and Naked 3 palettes. Like I said, they're so popular and well known that I don't think I need to mention them as a favorite. I will say, however, that out of the three Nakeds, Naked 3 is my favorite. I really like the rose-gold shades, it's so pretty.
Let's start with what I did mention. First up are my high end pick, Urban Decay and Lorac. I chose to mention Naked Basics out of all the Nakeds because I find this cute little thing very handy and portable. Although it does not have as many shades to choose from, it does have the basics...hahaha. I can easily create a simple natural eye with this effortlessly. Not my all time favorite but I do reach for it when I am in a hurry to do an eye look, no brainer. The convenience of the Lorac Pro palette is that it has both matte and shimmer shades, equivalence to each other all in one palette. It also ranges from hightlight shades all the way to a deep dark black shade; again, it is one of those day to night type palette.

NYX has got to be the most favorite over-all-products brand of all time for me. Lipstick, lip balm, lipgloss, eyeshadows, foundations, eye liner, blush...I can go on and on about everything that I love about NYX. Here are my NYX pick, The Runway Collection in Caviar & Bubbles and Butt Naked Eyes. I have traveled with just the Butt Naked palette before, no need to bring blush, bronzer and hightlight either because it is ever so conveniently in the palette as well. These blushes are no different from their original blush sold separately, same quality.
Physicians Formula is a hit and miss brand for me. I can love one product but absolutely hate another. Its never been a brand that I check up on constantly. Even though it is a drug store brand, the prices are on the higher end. For a brand whose quality isn't constant with a price like such, it's not hard to understand why. However, I absolutely love their shimmer strips custom eye enhancing shadows, Nude in particular. It's not the best of the best, say, compared to Sonia Kashuk or NYX, or even Wet N Wild, but for Physicians Formula's standard, this is good. Physicians Formula has one thing right, their cute packaging. It is one of the few brands with impressive packaging currently out there...that isn't Asian brand related.

Sonia Kashuk, please repeat after me guys, has never disappoint me! Case in point, two of her palettes made it on my list. Eye on Neutral is all matte shades while Eye on Neutral Shimmer are all shimmer shades. The shades from both palettes correspond with each other. How these two palettes work hand in hand like this, it reminds me a lot of the Lorac Pro. This can actually be Lorac's dupes because both have the same consistency, same creaminess; Sonia Kashuk is like the Lorac of the drug store. One down side is that since one palette is all matte while the other is all shimmer, you'll need both to mix and match, which is an inconvenient, especially for traveling.
Sonia Kashuk Eye on Neutral 02 and Eye on Neutral Shimmer 03

The last bunch of nudes. Maybelline and Cover Girl are basically two of the few great drug store brands out there. They have way more hits than misses so that's okay; their prices are average, though it will become costly to buy all of their new products... Marketing done right. Maybelline Eye Studio Color Plush is one of the best line Maybelline has in my opinion. Every single one of the quads, limited edition included, are always a must buy for me. The shadows are so silky and it's crazy how pigmented they are. To represent Maybelline in this Nude battle, I selected three quads, two regular and one limited edition.
I enjoy Maybelline eyeshadows more than Cover Girl, not saying that Cover Girl does not have great eyeshadows; they do but they just never have that appeal to me. I own maybe four or five and I make good use of all of them. This Cover Girl Eye Enhancer in Fard Accent is one of the most basic quads I have. The shades are all nude-ish, nothing too dark, nothing too shimmery. It is basically the go to quad to brighten up your eyes after pulling an all-nighter.
I don't know how Wet N Wild does it, but I'm glad they do. Because of their super affordable prices, I purchase every single eyeshadow that they put out. They have out many trios, ranging from nudes to tropic to rainbows of colors. Even though they're one of the cheapest drug store brand, they have qualities that can be matched with high end brands like Urban Decay or Two Faced. I really had a hard time choosing which trios and palettes to show because there are quite a few good neutral, nude shades but I ended up choosing these three because they match with this post more. These are more nude tone while the ones I didn't choose are more bronze, copper-ish.
Next to last, my Hard Candy Baked Eyeshadow duo in Peace. I absolutely love Hard Candy's Baked line, blush, bronzer, highlight and eyeshadows; actually, the Baked line is basically all I love when it comes to Hard Candy. Wait...no, I lied, I like their Glamouflage heavy duty concealer, primer and Glow All the Way. So quite a few, but eyeshadow wise, I only enjoy their baked line. This is a shimmery duo but it can give you what you need. I create eye looks with just this duo all the time. When you use these baked shadows wet, it will give you an entirely different look then when you use it dry. It's pretty interesting.  Don't get me wrong, this isn't a shadow that you need to use it wet in order to pick up the pigment, it's just another method to use it.
Lastly is this quad I got with a purchase from Ulta. I believe this used to be a quad from their eyeshadow line, but got discontinued or something. I'm not sure, but I got this quad maybe one and half years ago. I don't really use this when I'm at home, because of its small size, it's always in my bag for back up. It served me well a couple of time when there was an emergency so I felt like I need to add it to the list, as a thank you. Ha!

And there ya have it. I find it really fun to share with you all my current faves, I might do another one soon. Yeah?
Can you believe it's Thursday already? This week kinda just flew by. But it's almost weekend again, yay! Thank you for reading guys. :)
