Physician Formula Shimmer Strips Custom Eye Enhancing Shadow - Smoky

Physician Formula Shimmer Strips Custom Eye Enhancing Shadow - Smoky
Hello, Hello again everyone. It is another gorgeous Thursday here in Arizonaclear blue skies with white fluffy clouds drifting, light breeze and the sun shining brightly in the sky...maybe a little too bright, for Winter standards at least.
Today, I will share with you my third and last Physician Formula Shimmer Strips Custom Eye Enhancing Shadow in the Smoky collection. I already talked about the other two palette, Nude and Casual the past two days. Out of the three palettes, this is my least favorite. I don't hate it, no, it's just the shades are not those I gravitate towards on a daily basis.
This palette is identical to Nude and Casual, with the exception of the shades. Similar to Nude and CasualSmoky has a  plain black package with a biggo sparkly "diamond" to oomph the palette; I guess it's trying to give off an elegant feel. Regarding the formula and texture, it has the same not-so-buttery yet not too dry, flaky or chalkiness. This could also be worn wet or dry for a soft or full intensity lookSmoky also has nine shadows, all of which are shimmery. Like the others, Smoky also has three suggested sets of shadows to create different looks. Think of it as three trios in one palette. But of course you can use all nine shadows however your heart desires. It's suggested to make our experience easier.

Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Custom Eye Enhancing Shadow - Casual

Happppy Wednesday everyone! We are one day closer to the much awaited for weekend! Just need to climb and get over this massive hump of a day! :P
Following yesterday's post about Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Custom Eye Enhancing Shadow Nude collection, I figured I'll share with you my second palette from the line, which is the Casual collection.
Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Custom Eye Enhancing Shadow - Casual
This palette is pretty much identical to the Nude, by identical I mean the packaging, the formula, the shimmeriness of the shadows. Like Nude, the packaging of Casual is also very adorable. The palette is of a denim fabric, finished off with a golden zipper; really captures the "casualness". Haha. As for the texture, still not as creamy as other brands' shadows, but it isn't dry or flaky; it just doesn't feel butter soft between my fingers. The shadows are very pigmented and could be worn wet or dry, dry for a softer look and wet for a more intense look.
Similar to NudeCasual also has nine shimmery eyeshadows, ranging from light to dark; the lightest being a light beige and the darkest being either the navy blue or dark brown. Like NudeCasual always has three suggested sets for three looks -  natural, smoky blue, and golden glow. This is just my opinion, how I conceive this palette.

Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Custom Eye Enhancing Shadow - Nude

Physicians Formula Shimmer Strip Custom Eye Enhancer Shadow - Nude
Helllllo everyone and happy Tuesday! And before you say anything, there is always a reason to be happy. Gotta think positive; be happy because today is no longer Monday, we're one day closer to weekend.
I hope you all had an enjoyable Monday night. Did ya'll check out my Manicure Monday: Many Shades of Purple yesterday? The shades of purples in a pizzazzed up manicure. Head on over to check it out if you have not already. :P
That was yesterday, for today, I want to share with you a palette I've been using endlessly lately. It's not a big palette, it is quite small with only nine strips of shade. I'm talking about the Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Custom Eye Enhancing Shadow in the Nude collection.
I don't own a lot of Physicians Formula's eyeshadow, I'm more into their face products. However, I do own three of their Shimmer Strips Custom Eye Enhancing Shadow collection, okay, that is waaaaaay too long to keep typing, from this point onward, I shall refer to it simply as Nude. Out of the three, I must say I favorite this one the most. It's just so easy to use and wear, albeit all of the shadows are highly shimmery.
I like the formula of the eyeshadows even though the texture isn't as creamy as other shadows, but it isn't dry or flaky either. It just doesn't feel buttery between my fingers. I absolutely adore the fact that these shadows have very little fall outs, if any in that case. My brushes picks up the shadows well, with ease. I have no problem blending these shadows out, nor have issues of them showing up. With that said, these shadows can be worn wet and dry. I usually wear it dry for the softer look...and it's quicker that way. But when I want to intensify the shadow, I'll wear it wet, There is definitely a stark difference between wet and dry. Also, with water, these shadows can be worn as a type of eye liner, especially flattering for the lower lash line.
When it comes to cute packaging, Physicians Formula has got that down. I absolutely adore the cute packaging on this palette so much! The satin nude fabric, covered by black lace, finished off with a nice satin pink bow. How can anyone not love that?! Cute packaging they have down, but not travel-friendly. Their face products especially, they're not compact at all because they all have a compartment for the brush it comes along with so it's very thick and dome-y. It takes up a lot of space in a tiny make up bag. Buttttt, but Nude here is very compact; it is thin and flat. However, the only problem I have with it is that the lid is closed by just a magnet, no clasp or anything to secure it. It could be easily opened, with literally one finger. I took this with me to Vega last July, and the whole time, I was worried that Nude might have accidentally opened and yeah....don't like the idea of a ruin palette and the shadows getting all over. Luckily though, that did not happen because I packed it well.

Today's Make Up: Make It "Smoky" With A Side Of "Sheer Red"

Friday greetings y'all and happy weekend!! How are all you lovelies doing this fine Friday? This week seemed to have flown past like a gust of wind, but I'm not complaining though, the weekend is always welcomed here. LOL.
Imma be spending this weekend mostly at home, getting the tree and decorations up. I am actually super late this year, last year and the many years before that, the tree went up at the latest, the Saturday after Thanksgiving. I have no idea what happened this year, got older I guess... :/ Hahaha. But yeah, tree will go up, decorations will be hung while I sip on hot cocoa, blasting Christmas carols. LOL. 'Tis the season.
Roamed the wet and humid streets today with the brother. Sibling bonding time, hooray!! Weather is still gloomy as ever, no rain though, which is a slight disappointment to me. On days like this, I tend to sport bold lips to compensate for the dreary weather. Today, I have on luscious red lips, paired with purple smoky eyes.

Nothing special on the face today because I usually do not wear much face makeup on humid days. Humidity alone makes me want to tear my skin off, wearing a thick face of makeup is just unimaginable. So just some creamy concealer and a hydrating BB Cream. True Plum is a berry-plum matte-ish blush. Love it to bits.
I was in an adventurous mood this morning, so I created a purple smoky eyes, something I usually do not wear. The purple shades on this palette is just gorgeous. I actually have a whole post about this palette with swatches if you're interested. SMOKY PALETTE
Y'all enjoy the rest of your day now. Thanks for visiting and thank you for reading. Please come back soon! :)

Today's Make Up: "Pink Peony" And A "Rose"

It's Wednesday guys!! D-1 until Thanksgiving!!!! Can you tell I am ecstatic?! Haha. I hope you're all enjoying your last day of work and/or school before the four day weekend. It is a necessary break if you ask me. :P

Much to my dissatisfaction, I was out doing last minute shopping for tomorrow's.. er.. Friday's dinner. Long story short, because all the shops and stores decided to one up each other and open earlier and earlier and the deals are too sweet to pass up on, we as a family decided to move 'Thanksgiving' dinner from tomorrow to Friday. So all of tomorrow and possibly Friday morning will be dedicated to shopping. Fun, fun!!

But anyways, the last minute shopping. I am a very punctual person; time is important to me. For me, arriving 15 minutes early is late. So if it were up to me, I will not wait until today to go out and make the final purchases. Unfortunately that is not up to me because my mom and aunts are the chiefs this year so they make the list, I am just the errand runner. The stores were PACKED! The streets were JAMMED. I was not in a good mood at all. It took me like and hour and 15 minutes to get to somewhere that it would normally take 20 minutes. It's pretty ridiculous.

Today's makeup, pink cheeks with matching pink lips and a pop of green on the eyes for fun. ;)

Went for the luminous bare faced look again today. Haha. What's new? I feel like since I am a beauty blogger, I should be more experimental with my makeup but I honestly love this face makeup so much. It's so easy and simple to do yet makes me look very youthful. Adding to the mix are rosy cheeks. This Physicians Formula blush itself has a glow to it so it'll give my cheeks a glow along with providing the rosiness. I opted for a matte highlight to keep everything from glowing and radiating; there's a fine line between glowing and looking like a disco ball. LOL.

To pair with my bare faced, I went for clean neutral eyes. I didn't even sport my usual cat eyes because I wanted my cheeks and lips to be the focal point today. Since rose pink and green goes well together, I decided to add a hint of green to my lower lash line. Not too much, just a bit of color to keep things interesting.

The pink lips I kept talking about is a shade called Pink Peony. I picked this up in the clearance section at Target not too long ago and haven't really worn it much since, maybe three or four times at most. It's like a tinted lip balm with minimal shine to it. I fairly enjoy wearing it. It isn't tacky nor is it sticky on my lips, No special scent either. It does stain a little so do expect it to be a bit darker after it sets than when first applied it.

Thank you for visiting and thanks for reading. Please come back soon! But do take the time to spend it with family and create ever lasting memories. Enjoy your holiday weekend y'all!! :)

Today's Make Up: "Éclair" Are As "Sweet As Candy"

Annnnd the weekend is officially underway; how are you all doing today?? Besides freezing my butt off right now, I am doing quite well. Yes, it is getting quite chilly around here, which I cannot complain nor embrace. Not yet at least, once I get used to this cold I'll start enjoying the beauty of it...As is every year. Haha. Don't forget to bundle up guys! Don't let yourself catch a nasty cold now.

Weekend for me means another family gathering. I'm Asian, we like to do everything as a whole family. We eat together, we have a good time together and just make time for one another to bond. With gatherings, there must be food. Food is vital for a gathering. Any Asians can testify that. LOL.

Alright, well let's get to it, makeup wise. :P I went for a glowing bare face, sweet doll eyes paired with sweet pink lips. It doesn't get anymore innocent looking than that. Haha.

Today's Make Up: "Éclair" Are As "Sweet As Candy"

FACE
Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser
Sonia Kashuk All Covered Up Concealer in Porcelain
L'Oreal Magic Lumi Light Infusing Primer
Skin79 Lovely Girl BB Cream
Revlon Nearly Naked Pressed Powder in FairNYC Smooth Skin Bronzer in Sunny
Hard Candy Baked Blush in Honeymoon
Physicians Formula Happy Booster Glow & Mood Boosting Powder in Translucent

EYES
NYX HD Eyeshadow Base in ESB04
Wet N Wild Color Icon Eyeshadow Trio in Sweet As Candy
Wet N Wild Mega Liner Liquid Eyeliner in Dark Brown
Elizabeth Mott It's So Big Volumizing Mascara

LIPS
Peri Pera Peri's Tint Water in Cherry Juice
NYX Butter Gloss in Ã‰clair

As I mentioned above, I wanted the glowing yet bare faced type look today. Yesterday's look, I went for a bare face also, but I kept that more matte, whereas today, I used a light infusing primer, mixed in with my BB Cream for a subtle glowing effect. But before I did that, I applied Baby Skin to the areas where the pores are most problematic. I then sparingly used the All Covered Up concealer for the acne scars and uneven skin tones and such. Alright, after the BB Cream application, I set everything with a light weight powder. Then I sculpt and contour my face as I normally would. The blush I used today is very luminous so a highlight might not be necessary. It gives my cheeks the necessary hint of color while giving me a glow all at once.

Sweet As Candy is seriously sweet as candy. Whenever I want to go for a sweet, natural pink eye, this is my go to trio. I actually did a whole post raving about this trio, check it out if you'd like. :)

But yes, I used this trio on my eyes then used a dark brown liquid liner to thinly line my eyes, just enough to open up them but nothing too extreme. We are keeping things sweet and doll-like today. I didn't just use the eyeshadows on my eyelid, I took it to my lower lash line as well, incorporating all three shades as I did on my eyelid. Not in the same manner of course. Then I heated up my eye lash curler with a hair dryer before curling my lashes. Be VERY careful if you do the same because you can easily burn yourself. Lastly I coat my lashes in mascara.

**Details** If you're interested to know how I used this trio, I first applied browbone to my browbone and inner corner. I pulled the shadow to my top and lower lash line so it creates a 'C' shape, Then I used a flat eyeshadow brush to sweep eyelid all over my lids, keeping it only on the lids. I covered my entire lid, from inner corner to outer corner, not passing my crease. I then took a detailed brush and applied crease on my crease and outer V. I blended as I went, only applying more shadow if necessary because remember, I am going for an innocent look, not a smoky eye. The brown to the crease will help my eyes look bigger and more doll like, therefore more innocent. Using the same detailed brush with crease, I took that to the outer corner of my lower lash line, taking it about 1/3 way in. Back to the flat brush, I took eyelid to fill in the other 2/3 of my lower lash line all the way to my inner corner. I then flipped the brush around and took browbone and lightly applied that on top of eyelid by my inner corner. When everything is applied to my liking, I started to blend away, blend those harsh edges and transitions away!

As for my lips, I first applied Cheery Juice to stain my lips then topped it off with Ã‰clair. Easy as 1, 2, 3. :P

That is the look I am sporting today. What do you have on today? Is it a lazy makeup day or did you go all out?

I hope y'all enjoyed this post. Now go and have fun. Enjoy your weekend!! But remember to stay safe. I'd like to thank you for visiting and thanks for reading. Please do come back soon. :)

Today's Make Up: Fall Trend - Jewel-Tone Eyes & Red Lips 2

Wednesday greetings everyone! Hope your week is going well. I cannot complain about mine I guess, so that makes it okay. Haha.

I actually did this exact look a couple months back, but I liked how it came out that time, I decided to recreate it again. First on the list, jewel-tone eyes and red lips. I'm not sure what it was, but I had this urge to sport bright red lips today. The orangey-red with the warm undertones, not the one with the cool undertones. I went through all of my lip products and Wild Watermelon almost immediately caught my eyes.

So on the face today are the mess below.

Today's Make Up: Fall Trend - Jewel-Tone Eyes & Red Lips

FACE
L'Oreal Magic Lumi Light Infusing Primer
Maybelline Dream Fresh BB 8-in-1 Beauty Balm Skin Perfecter in Light/Medium
Physicians Formula Bronze Gems Healthy Glow Bronzer
ELF Essential Blush in Shy

EYES
ELF Eyelid Primer
Maybelline Eye Studio Eyeshadow Quad in Green With Envy
Wet N Wild Mega Liner Liquid Eyeliner in Dark Brown
Covergirl Lash Blast Fusion Mascara in Very Black

LIPS
Peri Pera Peri's Tint Water in Orange Juice
Revlon Color Burst Lip Butter in Wild Watermelon

I actually incorporated another trend into today's look, which is the bare faced with the flawless glow. In order to achieve that, I mixed a pump of Magic Lumi Primer and Dream Fresh BB and applied it all over my face. The Magic Lumi will give me that glow while the BB Cream will give me a dewy finish for the natural look. To keep the natural feel going, I didn't use too dark of a bronzer to sculpt my features as I usually would. I used this light bronzer to lightly dust it all over my face to give it some color and used the gems side of the compact as a highlight. Shy is that type of blush that is so subtle, it's border line barely there. For today, it provided what little color it did that it looks almost natural.

When jewels are mentioned, I immediately think of Sapphire blue, Emerald Green and Ruby Red, of course there are different colors too like purple or yellow. For today, our jewel tone eyes will be of a green shade, Green with Envy to be exact. I think using black liquid liner will contrast the green too much, so I opt for a brown instead. I wanted to keep the green as the main focus so I didn't wing it or applied it too thickly. Then I curled my lashes and applied mascara. Easy peasy.

As for lips, I first applied an orange tint water than topped it off with an orangey-red Lip Butter. Super, duper gorgeous.

Hope y'all enjoyed this post. Have a great rest of the night. Thank you for dropping by for a visit and thanks a bunches for reading. Please come back soon! :)

Today's Make Up: The "Casual" And The "Beauty Queen"

Heeey guys! Before we start today, I just want to take a few minutes to thank the veterans that we are honoring today (in the U.S.). I sincerely thank those heroes who served our country to protect our freedoms. Your services will forever be remembered with much appreciation. I am forever grateful to be an American. All in all...

And because it is Veterans Day here in the U.S., most public, no, scratch that, all public services and schools are off. Yay! The brother has the day off and he doesn't want to deal with homework so we're just having some sibling bonding time. Nothing too special, just lunch, some errands and a quick browse at the mall.

Makeup today is a blend of quick-fix and going all out. Ya know, the not going to great lengths, spending an hour plus but also not being completely lazy and just BSing it. Haha. Also, I used a BUNCH of products I have no used, quite possibly, so long that it has not made an appearance on my post, EVER! You'll see in a bit what I'm talking about.

Today's Make Up: The "Casual" And The "Beauty Queen"

FACE
ELF Mineral Infused Face Primer
Hard Candy Glamoflauge Heavy Duty Concealer in Light
L'Oreal Magic Skin Beautifier BB in Fair
bare Minerals Original Foundation with SPF 15 in Light
NYC Smooth Skin Bronzer in Sunny
Wet N Wild Color Icon Bronzer in Reserve Your Cabana
NYX Cream Blush in Boho Chic

EYES
ELF Eyelid Primer
Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Custom Eye Enhancing Shadow in Casual
Wet N Wild Mega Liner Liquid Eyeliner in Black
Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Perversion
Etude House Tear Liner in White Tear
Maybelline The Falsies Flared Mascara

LIPS
the Balm Stainiac in Beauty Queen
Revlon ColorStay Ultimate Suede Lipstick in Preview

For a long period of time, I used to use only ELF Mineral Infused Face Primer as the only primer. I'm not sure why that was when the Rimmel primer was so much better and for about the same price. These Mineral Face Primer, I believe are sold for $6. It doesn't really prime my face as it  erases the pores. So I'm basically using it as a pore eraser. As for blush, this is probably the first time I am using cream blushes this season and I am already in love. I love how natural cream blushes look. Apply with a small stipple brush and you're golden. I used my ELF Studio Small Stipple Brush.

As for my eyes, I was sorting through my palettes when these particular shades immediately caught my eyes. I am talking about the first three shades from the palette, it's at the top with the plum and beige. Told ya I've been into plums lately. It's just so gorgeous for this season.

I wanted to somewhat match my lips with my eyes. Since my eyes have hints of that gorgeous cranberry shade, I found the perfect lip color to my lips, only it is more intense. And yeah, I did apple Stainiac before I applied Preview, but it is completely unnecessary. I personally just prefer a tint underneath my lip products.

Thank you for visiting and thanks for reading. Please do come back soon! :)

Today's Make Up: "Hot Damn" What A "Hot Mess"

My gosh, what happened to the days... It was like Monday yesterday and it's already Wednesday today.. :/ Another blink and tomorrow will be Friday. Time is seriously zipping by in lightening speed.... Please excuse my rant, I'm just having an ehh kinda day. I do hope yours is better though. :)

Below are the makeup I have on my face today since I had a few business to run earlier. I was in the mood for bright red lips today, not muted red, not toned down red, but BRIGHT red. I even topped off with a gloss to make it extra shiny.

Today's Make Up: "Hot Damn" What A "Hot Mess" It Is

FACE
Olay Complete  All Day Moisturizer With Sunscreen SPF 15 for Combination/Oily Skin (not pictured)
Avene Thermal Spring Water (not pictured)
Neutrogena Healthy Skin 3-in-1 Concealer For Eyes in Buff

NYC Smooth Skin Bronzer in Sunny

EYES
ELF Eyelid Primer
Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Custom Eye Enhancing Shadow in Nude
Wet N Wild Mega Liner Liquid Eyeliner in Black
BH Cosmetics Waterproof Eye Crayon in Sapphire
Maybelline The Mega Plush Volume Express Mascara

LIPS
Be A Bombshell Lip Crayon in Hot Damn
Be A Bombshell Lip Gloss in Hot Mess

As always, nothing special on the face. Just moisturizer, a bit of concealer for the eyes and a little bronzer to sculpt and chisel away. You probably noticed by now that during the week, I tend to not wear a full face of makeup. It's all mainly "quick fixes". I do however, wear a full face on Friday and for the weekend if necessary.

Since my lips will be red, I didn't want anything else to take away its spotlight so my eyes are kept super simple. I used light, shimmery shades on my eyelids, paired with a thick winged liner, balanced with a Sapphire blue shadow on my lower lash line.

Now that the weather has turned chilly, I always begin by scrubbing my lips with a toothbrush to get rid of the dead skin. Then I applied a moisturizing lip balm before anything else. Maybe it's just me, but I wait maybe one or two minutes after applying lip balm before I apply any other lip product. In this case, I am using a Lip Crayon called Hot Damn, topped with Hot Mess, a Lip Gloss, both from Be A Bombshell.

Today's Make Up: Birthday Lunch With Friends

Hello Thursday all! One more day guys, just one more day until the weekend. D-1 until my 25th birthday. Gahhhh, happening too soon. I'm not quite sure how to feel about turning 25 yet. Haha.

Anyways, since tomorrow is my official birthday and I will be hanging out with the brother, my friends wanted to have lunch today. It was great seeing them happy again. We caught up during lunch and did some shopping together, like the good ol' times.

Keeping the makeup simple today with the fall trend of natural face and smoky brown eyes.

LIPS
Rimmel Lasting Finish Color Rush in I Want Candy

I've been into the whole mixing the Magic Lumi with a BB Cream to create a glowing natural look. Truly super gorgeous and natural looking.

I kept my eyes a light smoky brown since my lips will be a super vibrant pink. I have not used this palette in a while and I remembered why that is. I needed to use it wet in order for the shadows to show up, or being able to pick up at that. A damp brush does the trick.

Today's pop of pink comes from my blush by Jane Multi-Colored Cheek Powder and Rimmel Long Lasting Color Rush Balm Stain. Keeping it pink. Pink for the cure! #Pinktober
