BH Cosmetics 10 Color Palette: Foundation/Concealer & Blush

wpid-img_20150226_134634.jpg
Why hello, hello there my dear lovely readers. I hope you're all doing well today. Just one more day until the weekend guys, just ONE. More. Day. :D
Today, I bring y'all another mini-mini haul, some BH Cosmetics, a couple products I picked up from Hautelook some weeks ago. It actually arrived last Friday but I didn't get around to opening it until today. I have been trying to get my hands on these two items for as long as I can remember. They're both the 10 color palette, the first being the Professional Blush and the second being the Foundation & Concealer.
Even with constant sales and clearances going on on the BH Cosmetic sites, the events on Hautelook tends to be cheaper so I always look forward to the events to stock up. Unfortunately, I was always too late to pick these two palettes up as they are clearly very popular. I was able to snag the Foundation & Concealer Palette for $12 and the Blush for $7.50. Although BH Cosmetics aren't top of the line, they are still able to get the job done. You get what you pay for, but with BH Cosmetics, you get what you pay for, plus more.
I love palettes with large varieties like this because it is so convenient to travel with. I don't even need to pack a bunch of individual blushes because all I need is to throw this into my case and I am good to go. The case quality from BH isn't bad either. I won't need to worry about the case breaking off and the products getting everywhere. BH Cosmetics products are pretty reliable when it comes to being travel friendly. I plan on going on a one week cruise sometime next year and I am thinking about bringing this blush palette along with my the Balm How About Them Apples? cream palette. Two palettes that wouldn't take up much room and I'll have all the shade ranges and finishes I need.
Check out the two palettes below. :P
wpid-20150226_133220_richtonehdr.jpg
First off, the Professional Blush Palette. As previously mentioned, the palette includes 10 shades that ranges from neutral to vibrant, matte to shimmer. These blushes are in powder form so don't be confused that it might be a cream even though it comes in a palette as such.
wpid-picsart_1424984317068.jpg
As you can see, the 10 shades are dramatically different in ranges. Top left and top right can be worn as a bronzer for me because I have fair skin but for anyone with darker skin, I think it would look gorgeous as a blush. In contrast, the second shade from top left is so light, I might be able to use it as a highlight instead.
My automatic favorites has to be the top row, third one over and bottom row, first and fourth ones. I just absolutely love pink blushes, they're just so natural and cute. But of course, the corals and oranges are beautiful as well, perfect the heated Summer that is to come.
I will not swatch them yet because with 10 shades, I don't even know if I have enough room on my arms to swatch, but I will swatch as I use them for y'all.
wpid-20150226_133232_richtonehdr.jpg
And second, the Foundation & Concealer Palette. Like the Professional Blush Palette, this palette also consists of 10 colors. The shades ranges from the fairest to the darkest with both warm and cool undertones. Unlike the Blush Palette, this palette are cream products.
wpid-picsart_1424984383262.jpg
The beauty of a concealer palette with variety is that you can mix and blend the shades to create new ones. If these concealers are anything I've tried from BH before, they should be buildable, so you can build up the coverage to your desire.
I have always been on the lookout for a good cream highlight and bronzer. I wanted to try out that sculpted look that's been ever so popular nowadays but I didn't have any cream bronzer and highlight. This was the main reason why I had picked up this palette in the first place. I can use that ghostly fair shade up top as a highlight and the darker shades on the bottom as bronzer to sculpt my nose and cheekbones. Even if I wasn't going for that Kim K look, I still need a good cream product to contour my nose. I have been using only a powder, and yeah, it's working but by midday, the oil from my skin will kinda wash the powder away and I'll have to reapply. Hopefully with a cream base, I can eliminate that issue.
Another pro for having a concealer palette is the handiness when it comes to skin color changes from the seasons. Although I cannot tan for the life of me, even though I live in AZ; I'm the type that just turns lobster red, peel, and goes back to being fair as dough. I do however, get SOME color in the Summer months because during the Winter months, I do notice a change in color as I return to being super pale again. With that said, I do need a large range of concealers and foundations to match my ever changing skin. With a palette now, I can just mix and blend to my desire.
Again, I will not swatch these just yet. I will swatch them as I use them. If you're interested, please follow me on Instagram as I will most likely post the swatches and impression on there.

the Balm - Hautelook Event

wpid-picsart_1424211291722.jpg
Hello Tuesday my lovely readers!! Monday came and go and here we are, Tuesday again, a day closer to the Lunar New Year. Tomorrow will be New Year's Eve and the Mother took a day off to help me prepare... Not entirely sure if I should be grateful or cry. LOL. As the new year nears, everyone is trying to get their share of things done so everyone is on edge and just so... It takes efforts, lots of it to be nice. :P
I apologize for not being as active the last couple of days. Lunar New Year's week is by far the busiest holiday for us. Yes, Thanksgiving and Christmas is time consuming as well but the times reserved for Lunar New Years is just ridiculous. I will be "back" by Friday, hopefully. By then, it will be day 2 of the new years and by traditional superstitions, we are not to "clean" or "work", just "play" and relax for those three days. So yeah, by Friday I should be back; hopefully with an iPsy post because my bag came home today.
Anyways though, for today, I wanted to share with y'all a couple of things I picked up from the the Balm event on Hautelook not too long ago. And by a couple, I mean only three.
Check them out below. :)

Wet N Wild Color Icon Blushers

Hello all! Hope you all are having a terrific Tuesday.

It's been a while since I've last posted a go-to beauty product or brand so here it is today. I wanted to share with ya'll a couple of affordable, drugstore blushes that I absolutely love from the moon and back. They are Wet N Wild Color Icon Blushers; four shades are currently in the line... Although I wish there were more.

Wet N Wild is fairly easy to track down, here in Arizona, I am able to find them at WalgreensK-MartWal-Mart and some Ulta. In my opinion, Wet N Wild is one of the most affordable drugstore brand with great quality of products. They have a variety of beauty products from face to eyes to lips. I can't say I'm a fan of all their products because there are hits and misses. I will say that I am a huge fan of their eyeshadows, some of their lip products and nail polishes. Besides those, I am also a fan of their blush and bronzer.

Wet N Wild Color Icon Blushers are priced for $1.99 each, plus tax, here in Arizona. And like I mentioned earlier, there are four shades to choose from, from a pearly pink to a shimmer berry. I, being a blush enthusiast that I am, own all four. Of the four, I use three of 'em the most. Out of the three, one of them has been a constant go-to blush. Whenever I don't know what blush to reach for, it'll either be this or ELF Studio Blush in Pink Passion.

If I were to give you only one reason why I love these blushes so much, I'd have to say it's the formulaWet N Wild has got it down! The blush is just so creamy when rubbed between my fingers, it glides on like butter and blends like a dream.  A teeny, tiny bit goes a long, long way. Not to mention the lasting power. Other blushes tend to fade as the day go on, not these babies. Nuh uh! They cling on, with the same intensity from beginning to end. I've been complimented a few times and asked what blush I wore, they were genuinely surprised when I said Wet N Wild.

Wet N Wild Color Icon Blushers

PEARLESCENT PINK
The name pretty much says it all. This is a pearly light pink shade. It has bits of glitter in it so whenever I wear this, I gotta be extra careful where I place it or else I'll look like a grease ball. I usually wear this when I go for the natural, almost nothing there type blush. I can skip the highlight when wearing this because this blush already gives a radiant glow, but of course, pair it with a matte highlight works also.

HEATHER SILK
My favorite shade out of the four; it absolutely compliments my skin tone wellbringing out natural blushed cheeks. The pink is somewhat intimidating and what do you know, it shows up with the exact same intensity on the skin as it is in the pan. Unlike Pearlescent PinkHeather Silk is a matte blush, with no specks of glitter or shimmer whatsoever. Just a teeny, weeny, tiny dab of the brush will be more than enough for color, for my skin tone at least. When blended out, it's just the most beautiful blush color ever. This is an everyday type blush for me, can be paired with any eye or lip look.

Wet N Wild Color Icon Blushers - Pearlescent Pink & Heather Silk

MELLOW WINE
Despite the name, Mellow Wine, this shade isn't really "wine" to me. I think of it more of a dark corally-orange. This blush has very minimal shimmer in the pan and will not even be visible once applied to the skin. I don't wear this shade as often, but when I do, I usually pair it with a neutral eye and/or nude or coral lips. Like Heather Silk, a tiny dab of the brush will be all you need. Very pigmented this blush is.

BERRY SHIMMER
Of the four, I use this one the least. I probably used this no more than 10 times ever since I purchased it. I don't think I've ever worn this shade in the Spring/Summer months at all. Since it is a berry-wine color, I think it's more appropriate for the Fall/Winter months. Like Pearlescent Pink, this blush is packed with glitter and very shimmery. When worn in the Winter, it instantly gives the face a nice glowcontrast to the dull Winter.

Jordana Powder Blushes

Jordana Blush
Hello Tuesday all! How are ya'll doing? Hope you're all well. As for me, I started coughing up a storm last night... Out of no where. I thought I got over being sick, apparently not. Ugh!
Last week, I did a haul post from K-Mart; today, I want to go into detail on certain products from the haul. The chosen products for today are Jordana Powder Blush.
Jordana has 29 shades from their Powder Blush, 12 shades are new and only recently been released. All 29 shades are available for purchase on their site. I've only seen Jordana sold at Walgreens and K-Mart. Of all the Walgreens I've seen Jordana at, I do not believe they carry the Powder Blush. At the K-Mart I went to, they carry seven shades, most of them new. I was able to pick up five of the shades, Pink BeautyHot RaspberryBlushing RoseApple Cheeks and Rose Silk.
Jordana Powder Blush
Left: under natural sunlight
Right: in a room with most of the windows open with no light on
Sold for $2.49 each, this blush is even cheaper than my favorite ELF Studio blushes, which are, by the way are sold for $3 each and Wet N Wild Color Icon Blushes for $2.99.
I have to say, these Jordana blushes have climbed the ladder and kicked ELF Studio and Wet N Wild down to second and third places. That is a bit much of a claim but it's the truth. These blushes are soooo smooth and creamy. It feels super nice between my fingers and the pigmentation is super intense. With just one dab of the brush you'll have enough for both cheeks, especially true for the brighter shades like Hot Raspberry and Apple Cheeks.
The reason why I feel that Wet N Wild is now second isn't because Jordana has them beat in the quality. I feel like both have the same smooth, creaminess feel to them. It's just that Wet N Wild only has four or five shades. Jordana has them beat with their huge shades selection. Just simply that.
As for ELF Stuido blushes, it's not quite on the same level as Wet N Wild and Jordana yet. Their blush formula is rather dry and bit flaky. I cannot just dab my brush in and expect to have enough for my cheeks. It takes many many dabs and swirls to pick up enough blush. ELF however, have a moderate selection with ten or twelve shades to choose from.
highly recommend Jordana Powder Blush to anyone looking for a cheap yet pigmented blush, anyone looking for large variety of shades, any beginners who are getting into make up, just anyone looking for a trustworthy drug store blush.

HUGE City Color Haul

City Color Haul
Saturday Greetings! How was your Friday night? Hope you had an enjoyable night. Now it is Saturday, the start  of the weekend. While you're enjoying your weekend, here's a haul post from City Color. My order came in at the beginning of the week but I didn't have time to sort them and what not until yesterday.
You'll probably notice that most of the items are blush and lip products. Unfortunately, their eye products and other face products didn't appeal to me and I didn't want to force myself to purchase things I did not have a 100% satisfaction for. Maybe if it's from a store where I physically bought it, that way I can physically return it if I do not like it. I hate sending things back and forth through mail, you just don't know what can happen.

K-Mart Haul

K-Mart Haul
Helllllllo Tuesday all!!! This will be a haul post, all from K-Mart. They had a MASSIVE clearance saleWet N Wild and Sinful Colors were buy one get one 50%... So I went a little crazy...
K-Mart Haul NailsNAILS
Sinful Colors Pink Forever
Sinful Colors Purple Diamond
Sinful Colors Cinderella
Sinful Colors Why Not
Wet N Wild Mega Shine Here Comes Trouble
Wet N Wild Mega Shine Lavender Crème
Wet N Wild Mega Shine Tickled Pink
Wet N Wild Mega Shine Sparked
Wet N Wild Mega Last Silver Lining (limited edition)
Wet N Wild Mega Last Champagne (limited edition)
Essie Penny Talk
Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Twinkle Toes-Ty
You all know I adore my Sinful Colors, so it's not surprising that I could not pass up a good deal of buy one get one 50%. Same story for the two Mega Last limited edition polishes, I loved the two I wore last week so much I had to pick up the other two colors I didn't pick up last time. The Mega Shines are only 99 cents each; although they don't have as long a lasting power as the Mega Last, they have great color pay off, perfect for a last minute, quick manicure. I don't know if it's just me but I feel bad for taking off a "high end" polish right away. By high end, I not only mean Butter LONDON or OPI that ranges in the $10+, I also mean brands like EssieChina Glaze, Sally Hansen or Zoya whose prices ranges from $3 to $7ish. I even feel bad if I take off my Sinful Colors manicure right away, and they only cost no more than two bucks. That's why I always have several 99 cents polishes on hand like Wet N Wild Mega Shine or NYC Long Wearing. Albeit you get what you pay for, but they both have intense colors and takes not more than two coats to get the opaqueness, it'll fade and chip away within a day or two but that's alright for me.
Within the craziness of all the sales and clearance sales going on, they also had like these super-reduced-clearance bins where they just dump a bunch of things in there, nail polishes, foundations, eyeshadow palettes, lipsticks, you name it. These items are drastically reduced because they're either damaged in some way or old. That's how I picked up the Essie and Sally Hansen, they were both priced at $2.
Of the four Mega Shine polishes I bought, I used three of it right away as yesterday's manicure. Like I said, beautiful colors but I do not expect them to last long.
K-Mart Haul LipsLIPS
Rimmel Lasting Finish Color Rush in Make Me Blush
Rimmel Lasting Finish Color Rush in I Want Candy
Rimmel Lasting Finish Color Rush in Lady Marmalade
Jordana Lipstick in Strawberry Shortcake
Jordana Lipstick in Candied Pink
NYC Expert Last Lip Color in Candy Rush
Jordana Sweet N' Smooth Nourishing Lip Balm in Yummy Strawberry
The last thing I need is probably MORE pink lip products... but I seriously cannot resist! I didn't know Rimmel came out with jumbo lip pencils; the way it is package, it reminds me a lot of Jordana. I love their lipsticks so I am having high hopes for this jumbo goodness. Plus! It smells like vanilla!! Rimmel's lip products always smells the best!
I picked up two Jordana Lip Stick and one Lip Balm. Jordana Twist & Shine have been my go to balm stains for the longest while, while their lip liner is amongst my most used products. So when it comes to lip products, I think Jordana has it right, gonna try out their lip stick to see if it is also a hit. Their lip balm reminds me SOOO much of Maybelline Baby Lips, this shade in particular reminds me of a cross between Pink Wink and Melon Mania. I am not too crazy about the scent of the lip balm, you can smell the "strawberry" but it's ehh, the lipsticks though, smells like watermelon. Yummy.
I also wanted to try out NYC's new lip color. They almost always hit with the lip products so it never hurts to try.
K-Mart Haul Face & Eyes

Wet N Wild Color Icon Single in Cheeky

The last thing I need more of are blushes. I have enough to last me 3-lifetimes. Yet here are more to add to my collection. Please meet my newest additions, Jordana Powder Blushes... Please look forward to an updated favorite blush post, I have a feeling it will come really soon.
I finally got my hands on the limited edition Walking the Red Carpet, and at half price. Yay! I've never, ever, purchased a glitter-packed eyeshadow before, Groupie is my first. I think it's a fun color to experiment with. Maybe I can wear it for New Years or a party. Cheeky is a beautiful burgundy color, I just couldn't resist it. The thing with Wet N Wild's single is that it is buildable. I can easily create a look with one shadow only, this burgundy is no exception.
Between the last haul, this haul and my City Color order that came in, I think I am more than ready for Spring, nails, lips, eyes and all. Yep, March 20th is the official date... but it's not like I haven't already been sporting the Spring trendHa!
I'm feeling a little under the weather today, but I hope you're all doing better than I am. Thank you for visiting my Blog and thanls for reading guys! :)

Throwback Thursday: Current Faves Perfect for Spring

Time is flying by at a rapid pace, or the week skipped and I wasn't aware or something because it it Thursday already. Time is seriously not kind when you get older. I remember when I was younger, I could not wait for the "long" week to be over, now it is the total opposite. Sigh...
Today's post will be a throwback, not that far back, just last couple of months back to prepare you for Spring. When I think of Springpastels, pinks, corals, soft colors generally come to mind. How lucky am I to have conveniently posted several posts about my current favorite products, which also happens to be Spring inspired as well.
If you love pink lipsthis post is for you. It ranges from tinted lip balms to lip stick to balm stains so no matter what type of lip products you like, there's a pink shade recommended for you.
Soft pink lips are usually accompanied by fresh pink cheeks. In this post, I shared with ya'll my favorite pink and coral blush. Check it out if you are looking for a great, reliable blush to be your new favorite this Spring.
Lastly, I posted about my favorite eyeshadow palettes in Nude. I know it isn't really a Spring trend, but I mean, c'mon, it's Nude, it works year round right? This post is just a bunch of my current favorite nude palettes, mostly drug store and a few high end.
This is a bonus post. I change my manicure every week so it really is hard for me to have a favorite nail polish, but I do trust Sinful Colors and Wet N Wild to always deliver. So even if I haven't tried out these polishes yet, I still want to show you all them in case you want to purchase them yourself. They're fairly popular so you gotta be quick!
Have a great Thursday night everyone. Thank you for reading guys. :)

Current Favorite Blush: Pink & Coral

Hi all! It's Thursday! Last stretch til the weekend. Today's post will be the third installment of my 'Current Favorite' series. First being my Pink Lip ProductsNude Eyeshadow Palettes being the second and this third one will be about Pink and Coral Blush.
Favorite Blush
I've noticed that I've recently used a lot of pink and coral blushes; by recent I mean the last month or month and a half. When it was the dead Winter's month, I was still mainly into berries and wine blushes. It's not even the fact that berries and wine shades were the trend, it was more so a feeling. The slightly darker shades seemed to match with the gloomy Winter weather. It makes sense right? Or am I just weird?...
Anyways, the Arizona weather decided that it didn't want to wait another 20 something days for Spring so it decided to go ahead with its own schedule. The temperature has been slowly rising the last two weeks, reaching mid-80s everyday. For everyday that it does not feel like Winter anymore, another "Winter product" gets put away; by now, everything Winter related has been snuggly tucked away. I can't say I miss them, I am too excited to pull out the pastels, corals, pinks, them Spring colors! Yay for happy colors!!
It is no surprise that my current favorite blushes are pinks and corals. Today I will share with you nine of them, all drug store products. The most "expensive" blush out of the nine is, if I remember correctly, $7 or $8; the cheapest one is $1.99.
Two of Milani's Baked Blush made it on my fave list, surprise surprise. Both of them are baked blush, Dolce Pink being the pinkie shade while Corallina is a bright coral shade. I love Milani's Baked Blush because no matter how light or dark the shades are, it will give you an instant goddess radiant glow, it must be the fine glitter swirl baked along with the blush pigment. I am super excited because they just came out with two new shades, cannot wait to get my hands on them.
Wet N Wild never fails to impress me when it comes to their eyeshadows and blushes...sometimes lip products too but that's another story. They have four shades in total from their Color Icon Blusher line, all of which I super love and use all the time but I love their matte shades just a tad more than their shimmers. Heather Silk isn't exactly pink, it's more of a soft berry but it is borderline and a great transition shadeMellow Wine, contrary to its name, is not a wine color; it's more orangey. This shade in particular is SUPER pigmented, one dab of the brush is enough. Gosh, I have accidentally over-blushed with this shade a couple of time. It. Was. Ridiculous. For the price that Wet N Wild offers them, I wish they could come out with more shades. I know I would grab every single shade. If you're listening Wet N Wild, more blush please!!
The first reason why I decided to buy a Jane Cosmetic blush was because of the super cute design. I am a sucker for cute designs and packaging. I'm glad the blush wasn't a flop because I would have been super mad, but luckily the blush was super pigmented. I returned to Ulta the next week to pick up two more. Two of those three have made it onto my fave list. Pink Bouquet is a light pink while Berry Bouquet is a darker pink/soft berry, another one perfect for the transition phase. These two shades are matteno glitter, no shimmer. Just give your brush a swirl around the pan to pick up every color.
If you read my post yesterday about my brushes, you'll probably remember the part where I raved and raved about ELF. They have a large selectionthey're affordable and their quality is amazing for a drug store brand. That being said, Pink Passion is exactly what its name suggests. A brightPOW! BAM! in your face pink. But don't let what you see from the pan scare you from trying it out. It's the perfect pink blush to give you that flushed, innocent baby doll look.
I feel like I am repetitive or come across as pretentious when I keep saying I love every single product/brand I talk about, but guys, I am 100% honest here. These brands brought my make up experience to a whole new level of enjoyment. I mentioned that because this next blush is from NYX, my other favorite brands. I've mentioned, many, many times before that NYX never fails to impress me. I don't think they've ever came out with a product that I do not like or love. NYX is great when it comes to large color selections of shade ranges, which is always a plus. Their products are always innovative. I own a lot of their powder blush and I had a really hard time trying to choose just one. I almost did eny, meeny, miny mo to choose, but of course that just goes against my blog. I finally settled for Rose Garden, a beautiful pink with fine gold glitter within. Albeit it is not the most natural looking blush when applied, but it is the most fabulous indeed. When I put this one, I feel polished and well put together. It's like a little picker-upper for me.
Ahhh, Hard Candy...I cannot say I love everything they have out but you should totally try out their baked products if you haven't already. Their baked blush and baked shadows are my favorite amongst the baked products. I'm not sure how many baked blush they have out, but I own two, Living Doll and HoneymoonLiving Doll is my favorite; it is a baby pink blush, very shimmery. This is a lot like ELF Pink Passion, but it gives you a radiant glow also.
