the Balm - Hautelook Event

Hello Tuesday my lovely readers!! Monday came and go and here we are, Tuesday again, a day closer to the Lunar New Year. Tomorrow will be New Year's Eve and the Mother took a day off to help me prepare... Not entirely sure if I should be grateful or cry. LOL. As the new year nears, everyone is trying to get their share of things done so everyone is on edge and just so... It takes efforts, lots of it to be nice. :P

I apologize for not being as active the last couple of days. Lunar New Year's week is by far the busiest holiday for us. Yes, Thanksgiving and Christmas is time consuming as well but the times reserved for Lunar New Years is just ridiculous. I will be "back" by Friday, hopefully. By then, it will be day 2 of the new years and by traditional superstitions, we are not to "clean" or "work", just "play" and relax for those three days. So yeah, by Friday I should be back; hopefully with an iPsy post because my bag came home today.

Anyways though, for today, I wanted to share with y'all a couple of things I picked up from the the Balm event on Hautelook not too long ago. And by a couple, I mean only three.

BLUSH
Instain Long Wearing Staining Powder Blush in Houndstooth & Lace

This will be the second and third Instain blushes I own. I already own one called Argyle, which I adore so much that as soon as I saw the Balm on Hautelook again, I had to hurry over to place my order. My goal is to order a few at a time until I have collected them all... Or the shades that I wear anyways.

Let me tell you, these Instains are A M A Z I N G, just amazing. In the Summer especially, I might have to touch up the blush midday because I weather blotted, wiped or sweat the blush away. But with these babies, they stay on from morning til night, with (almost) the same intensity. I have to say almost because by the end of the day, the blush will not still have that same vibrancy it did that morning, but it sure as heck did a good job setting and stained my cheeks.

With the weather changing and Summer is fast approaching, I am super glad I was able to pick up these two shades, to make three.

I swept my fingers across the blush then blended it out to my skin. As you can tell, the pink one, Lace, shows up much more intensely than Houndstooth. I'd either have to use a heavy hand with Houndstooth or go for that barely there look.

EYESHADOW
Overshadow The Sexpots in You Buy, I'll Fly

This beauty here called You Buy, I'll Fly, will be the second addition of The Sexpots in my collection, the first being No Money, No Honey.

This is called an Overshadow, meaning it is typically worn over an eyeshadow for extra glam, extra pizzazz, extra OOMPHS for them windows to the souls of yours. ;) I wear them, however, alone. Yes, I have worn them over an eyeshadow before but I prefer them on their own. It has juuuuuust the right amount of pigment to give me some color but still very sheer for a clean, natural look. I super glad this shade is finally on sale on the event this time. I feel like this shade matches my skin tone very well.

How I use my Sexpots is just lightly dust it all over my eyelids then line my eyes. As easy as that but it can transform any tired eyes into alert and wide eyes in an instant.

I am definitely looking forward to future the Balm events on Hautelook, I will pick up a few more Instains for sure... Annnnd maybe one more Sexpots. Maybe... :P
