Today's Make Up: Pop of Lip, Radiant Orchid

Happy Wednesday all! We made it through another Hump Day, cheers to that. Now if only tomorrow can also come and go already. Weekend needs to come asap.

Welcome to another Today's Make Up, today is all about the lips. Radiant Orchids, it's been a while. If you're still not aware, Radiant Orchid has been named Color of the Year by Pantone.

After moisturizing, I used the concealer under and around my eyes. Whatever that's left on my brush, I apply on my forehead, bridge of nose, cheek bones and chin. This concealer is also an eye brightener so I only lightly go over those areas with foundation to let the brightening peak through to act like a natural highlight. It's been a while and to be honest, I kinda forgot aboout my Stay Matte powder. I forgot how much I used to love this as a setting powder; it used to be my go to powder waaaay back. This powder completely mattifies my face, keeping it shine free for a good while. I used my favorite bronzer to contour and give my skin a sun kissed glow. I happened to have a nice purple-ish blush, it kinda matches with the lipstick I plan on wearing. It's a nice tie in in my opinion. I did however, kept my cheeks very subtle, just a hint of color is all.

Today's look is by no means natural or subtle. I didn't want to go overboard and matched my eyes with my lips and cheeks. The next best thing is to match the eyes in another way. I think gold and purple goes very prettily together. So that is what I used, my Ulta Mineral Eyeshadow Duo. I used the dry gold shadow, in my inner corner, lower lash line and highlight my brows. Then I wet my brush to intensify the shadow that went all over my lids. I took a bit, only a bit, of the purple onto my crease and outer V to give my eyes definition. I want the gold shadow to show but not outshine the lips.

Annnnd we get to the lips, the key point today. First I lined and filled in my entire lip with a lip liner that's similar in color to the lipstick. Then applied this creamy lipstick for that POP! Use concealer to clean up the edges if you like that chic, precise, clean edge. I didn't do this because I wanted a more natural feel. When wearing bold lipsticks/lip products, remember to always double and triple check to see if there's anything on your teeth.
