Sephora by OPI - Handpicked for Me Review

Hello, hello, Monday greetings everyone! A Monday in which we still have off. Hope you all enjoyed your three-day weekend.

But in all seriousness, today isn't simply a day we have off. Let's take a moment to think about, appreciate and thank those men and women whom have sacrificed for our country. The United States as we know it wouldn't be the same without these brave people. Thank you very, very much.

So guys, today is Monday, which means this post will be manicure related. Unlike other weeks, I will not share with you a new manicure this week. I tried out a polish from Sephora by OPI for the first time last week. Since it is my first time trying the brand out and the fact that it is still holding up well even today, I decided to keep it for another week. Today's post will be a review.

So to back track, the polish I used last week is called Handpicked for Me - a shimmer polish; I bought this along with four others from Hautelook a while back. It was priced for $3 and the original price marked was either $15 or $18, I forget.

I had no issues with application as it applied very evenly without streaking and it dries super quick. Like literally, within a minute or two, I was able to apply the second coat. This polish is very sheer with just one coat, my nails were very visible. With two coats, the nails underneath was still visible but you gotta look very closely. I was satisfied with three coats, my nails no longer was showing. Please keep in mind that I do very thin coats each time. I find that thin coats dry faster and it looks neater. I rarely ever do thick coat, maybe when I only do one coat... but that's another story.

I used a base coat to protect my natural nails but I did not use a top coat (with the exception of the middle finger). I am really surprised at the longevity of this polish without a top coat. I did all sorts of hands-on activities the last week, from swimming to scrubbing rocks, hammering cements, gardening and lots of dishes washing. Other than my nails growing out and a little bit of chipping from the top, the polish itself is somewhat fading, losing its color intensity.

From afar, you can't really tell in my opinion. As seen below, last week, fresh paint and this week, not much of a difference.
