Midweek Update: Harem by Illamasqua

Happy Thursday everyone! :)
I want to give y'all a quick update regarding my manicure this week. If you're just joining us, welcome! To bring you up to date, last Monday, I had used a Nail Varnish by Illamasqua called Harem, a beautiful creamy lilac shade, perfect for Spring.
Manicure Monday: Harem by Illamasqua
You can read all about here, which is basically my first impression of the brand and how I liked it. Lemme just say, it didn't impress me then and there.
Comes to this past Monday, my manicure was still in pristine condition. Needless to say, I had quite a few praises for this nail color.
Manicure Monday: Harem by Illamasqua One Week Update
As you can see, for a old week old manicure, that is pretty impressive. Shine was still there, hardly any chips. You can read about how I changed my opinion about Illamasqua here.
But, what happens when that one week mark passes? Will the manicure still be in great condition? Or will it start to deteriorate that makes me wish I had done a new manicure on Monday? Hmmm.

Manicure Monday: Harem by Illamasqua One Week Update

Hey, hey, heeeeeeey you lovely gals (and guys). :) What a lovely way to start off the week, with rain, lots and lots of rain all day. I love it so much! Downside to all this rain is I am way too lazy to get out of the house. It's okay, I'm good at improvisation, I have plenty of ish to do staying in as well. So that was pretty much my day, stayed in, sipping on hot cocoa with lots of marshmallows, can't forget the marshmallows. :P Heehee. Uhhh... what now? Oh yeah, not all about sipping hot cocoa, I did work too, boring stuff. Mehh, like cleaned my brushes, dusted, cleaned and reorganized the makeup room. I also cleaned out my makeup, threw out the old ones and wiped down the ones I kept. Overall, it was a very productive day. I am kinda hoping it'll rain again tomorrow so I can have a reason to stay in to finish up, but let there be sun on Wednesday so I can head out for errands.
Anyways, new week usually means new manicure, however, I'm sure y'all read that biggo title up there stating that this is an update post. Haha. So yes, I am reporting back here with one week nails, using Illamasqua Nail Varnish.
Remember my manicure from last week? No? Not a problem, lemme help you out.

But aren't you curious as to how one week nails without a top coat would look like?

Manicure Monday: "Pink Popsicle" One Week Update

Monday greetings to all my lovely Autumn blossoms. :) And just how are you all doing on this lovely Autumn day? The weather has really gotten cold Bundle up and keep warm my pretties! Don't want y'all to catch a cold now.
If you are a regular to my blog, you'll already know this but if you're a browser or a new follower, Monday's are usually, always manicure related. I usually switch up my nails on Monday and do a post entry about it. It's been a good while but today's entry will be an update rather than a new manicure. Why might you ask? Well, take a looksy below and you can probably understand why I couldn't bring myself to remove this manicure.
Manicure Monday: "Pink Popsicle" One Week Update

Yes, what you see here is not fresh paint, nope. This is one week old nails WITHOUT a top coat.
This is my first time using Pop Beauty's nail color so I didn't know what to expect. Usually, when I try out a new brand of nail color for the first time, I risk it and do not use top coats, for obvious reasons. I usually don't do update posts, not unless the nail color deserves recognition as an outstanding nail color. In my opinion, Pop Beauty does deserve a shout out! From the formula to the application to the long wearing, everything is a thumbs up in my book. I am glad I was able to pick this up from Hautelook for only $3. I will definitely keep my eyes on Hautelook for the next Pop Beauty event.

Manicure Monday: Pink Popsicle
Not much of a difference I dare say. With the exception of my nails growing and the slight chipping at the tip. For the most part, no fading, no major chipping or anything of that sort. I think it is rather important to mention that I did NOT apply a top coat to this manicure, so all the props goes to Pop Beauty. I did however use a base coat, so for what it’s worth, the combination of drug store nail colors I used all can last for more than a week.
If you are interested in how I created this manicure, please feel free to visit my manicure post from last week called Pink Popsicle ; just clicky click on the link and it should take you to said post.
That shall be it for today. Enjoy the rest of your night. As always, much appreciation for your visits and taking time to read. Enjoy the rest of your day now my pretties. Please do come back real soon. :)

Manicure Monday: "On A Trip" One Week Update & Preview

Monday greetings to all my lovely Autumn blossoms. :) And just how are you all doing on this lovely Autumn day? News are going around that a cold front from Alaska will be pushed to the 48 states sometime this week, so be sure to look out for it. Bundle up and keep warm my pretties!

Manicure Monday: "On A Trip" One Week Update

Yes, what you see here is not fresh paint, nope. This is one week old manicure by using only drug store nail colors. I am pretty impressed with Wet N Wild I must say. Good job Wet N Wild!

This is nothing new to me though. I've said times and times before that I absolutely love this Wet N Wild Mega Last nail color formula. They glide on with ease, no streaks if you're careful, and if you apply a thick coat, you can probably get away with just that. I always like to do two so I break it up to two thin coats instead. The dry time is ridiculously fast; I'll give it 5 minutes, 10 minutes max and your manicure is good to go. And of course, the main reason why this post exists is because of the long wearing power. Mega Last for sure. I did not go easy on my manicure this week, did a whole lot of heavy duty chores and yet, look at that.

Besides the formula, I am so much in love with the brush. I think that all brands should have a brush like that. It is wider than most traditional brushes so the application is effortless, one or two strokes and you're done.

WNW MegaLast Salon Nail Color Brush (left) VS. Traditional Nail Color Brush (right)

The manicure is made possible by two Wet N Wild product, one is a nail color being sold everywhere and the other is a limited edition item that, to my knowledge, is no longer sold. I think they might come out with another set sometime next Spring because that was when I had picked these toppings from.

I will use the tutorial provided by Julep as a guide to show y'all how I Winterize my nails. I will be using products that I own and love to use in my manicure routine. So if you're a nail enthusiast like myself, please do stop by next week for the tutorial. :) I'll be working hard to provide you all with an enjoyable, fun post. Until then.

June iPsy Bag: Pretty In Paradise Update

June iPsy Bag: Pretty In Paradise

Hello all! How are y'all liking the week by far? Work week is in full swing but I cant help but keep looking forward to the weekend. Who's with me? LOL

This is a little overdue but here it is guys! I greatly apologize to anyone actually waiting for the updates for June's bag. But I finally have time to sit down and compose this post. You've all waited long enough so I won't keep you waiting any longer. Here is the June iPsy Bag Updates!

June iPsy Bag: Pretty In Paradise - Products

I had such HIGH hopes for this mascara, mainly because it's a Be A Bombshell product. Unfortunately this time, Be A Bombshell did NOT deliver. Where do I even begin with this mascara?... Because this has got be one of the worst mascaras I have EVER used.

1. This mascara straight up smells like plastic or that of something synthetic. The smell is so foul I had a hard time breathing the first time I applied it. It is so bothersome and I am not one to be sensitive to the scents of makeup.

2. The formula, oh my gosh the formula. Straight from the tube, the mascara was dry and clumpy. Like you know how you can just tell how a mascara is just taking the wand out of the tube? If it's too watery or too dry. Well this was beyond dry, like I was actually worried if it would apply at all.

3. Well it did apply, but not well at all. It clumped on my lashes, leaving chunks on each lashes. It did not lengthen, extend, volumized my lashes at all. The only thing it did was weigh my lashes down.
4. No lasting power what-so-ever. It started flaking within an hour or so. I had to constantly wipe the fall outs off my face the entire day.

5. It was such a b**** to remove! UGH! Although this was not waterproof, it clung onto my lashes like it was waterproof. I could easily take off waterproof makeup with my Sonia Kashuk Eye Makeup Remover, yet even that had a hard tome removing this stuff. I ended up ripping off a few lashes the first time I used it.

So now, I do NOT recommend this mascara to anyone at all. For $15, you can easily find a drug store mascara that works 100x better than this. Just no...

I decided to give this product a second try and I am as disappointed this time around as the last. When I tried this out the first time, my hair was longer and denser so it had no effect on it; this time, I had chop off a lot of my hair and made it less dense, I was hoping this spray will work but unfortunately it did not. The spray did nothing great for my hair, the only thing it did was made my hair smell really nice. Oh, that and it weighed down my hair a lot.

I did not like this product at all, kinda disappointed I received it in my bag. It's alright though, I gave it to my cousin and she sure appreciated it. My cousin has fine, thin hair and she says this spray really does give her the beach waves.

For all the dislike that I had for the Lash Out Mascara, I felt the exact opposite for this lovely liner. I love almost everything about this liner. First off, the color is to die for! iPsy offered either Blue or Green to iPsters and although I wouldn't mind receiving Green, I am so happy to have received Blue. I have used this a couple of times and each time, I have received compliments.

The color is vibrant, perfect for accents, it adds a pop to the eyes. The liner itself applies like a dream, the formula is juuuuust right, not too liquidy, not too dry. It stays on with the same intensity all day. The only "problem" I have with this is the brush. It's a little too long for my comfort. For me, a long brush is harder to control than a shorter one. But nonetheless, a really good eyeliner for a fairly good price.

I ended up keeping this gloss in the end because everyone I offered it to already owned it or didn't like the shade. It is now a permanent resident in my makeup bag that I have in my purse. It's a nice touch up gloss and pairs well with any stains and/or lipstick shade.

I am a HUGE fan of the Butter Gloss, probably one of the few gloss I can stand. I love the large shade selection, NYX is always great with that. I also really enjoy the scent, it's not a harsh chemical stench nor is it too perfumey, the scent is really light and fruity. I also like the formula too, it is not too sticky nor is it too slimy, everything is just right. The Butter Gloss lasts pretty long too, all the while without drying out my lips.

Sigh...mixed feeling about this product. I'm actually somewhat disappointed in myself for not loving it THAT much. I don't hate it though... It's complicated.

What I dislike about this... the finish and the oiliness. Like many other Korean brands, Laneige has a dewy finish. I'm fine with dewy finishes in the winter, not in the middle of summer. I have really oily skin and on hot days, the oil gets really bad! This dewiness only worsens as the day continues.

The formula itself isn't anything exceptional. I've tried and own better BB Creams with better coverage, more hydrating and lasts longer. I'm not saying this is a bad BB Cream, I've just tried better ones for lower prices. The only up side is this brand is now sold in the US at selected Targets. So for those who dislike purchasing makeup online, this brand might be for you.

I absolutely love the cushion concept. Many Korean brand of makeups are coming out with this concept, so it's okay that I am not entirely in love with Laneige. I can just look into other brands that already have the cushions.

So there ya go, my honest opinions on these products. Hope y'all enjoyed this update post. Please stay tuned for the July bag update coming soon in the next week or so. Around the same time, the August bag will be up also. Please look forward to them.

Thank you for visiting and thanks for reading guys. Please come back soon! :)

<3 HEART to HEART <3
Ticking Time Bomb

Maybe it's the fact that one of my high school friend recently got married; she now joins the married group which contains most of our graduating classThe ones that are left are either dating, engaged or a parentWhich leaves me, still a loner. HahaI don't hate the fact that I'm singleI just dislike the idea that I am still living the single life if that makes any sense. I have been living fine being a single, happily enjoying life. It's just until recently that I felt like I've hit a barrier and moving no wheremaking no progress, which admittedly put me somewhat in a slump. If I wasn't so family oriented, I probably wouldn't care too much but it's the fact that I am Asian whose parents still instill traditional values. It's not like they're forcing me to get married right away or forcing me on set up blind dates; they're just in their own way guilt tripping me. Randomly dropping a "Friends my age are already grandparents.. wonder when that will be me" or "Wishing I have a grandchild to play with right now"... just those comments. The fact that my parents are still very traditional, they still worry about me growing old by myself. They're not big on the whole idea of living the bachorlette life for the rest of my life. They prefer me find a nice man, marry him and grow a family before they pass so I'll have someone to lean on. I know it's out of love but at the moment, I sometimes cannot help but cry because what they want, I don't think I can succeed, it's not within my jurisdiction.

There's a Vietnamese saying that goes, "Having a grown daughter at home is like having a ticking time bomb", needless to say, I have been referred to as a ticking time bomb by all of my relatives. They mean no harm by it, it comes from love I guess. At 24 though, I guess I just can't help but take it kinda offensive. I can't blame anyone but myself though so..

I'm hoping and pray hard every night that it'll be my turn soon. But hopingwishingdreamingpraying for it won't get me marrieddoing something about it will. But..well.. it's just, I can't anymore. One, there's no one compatible around me and two, I don't have the nerves to do anything about it. Haha...problematic much? I've slowly accepted the sad reality that I will grow old myself, now if only I can prepare my family for that mentality also, that'll be great.

Then again, with all the babies, toddlers and kids surrounding me, I just can't help but wanting kids of my own. If it's anything I'll regret from growing old single, it'll be having childrenI've been caring for and been around kids at an early age, I've always dreamt of having my own kids, being a mother. Sigh... It's quite a dilemma.

WHAT TO DO?!? What to do?...

May iPsy Bag: Beauty's Fresh Picks Update

Heeeeey everybody! It is time for another iPsy Bag update!

First off, for the recordthis hair mask did not live up to expectations. It wasn't by any means a bad hair mask, it just didn't do anything special to my hair that my Suave Conditioner cannot do. It made my hair silkysmoothshiny and nourished my hair from the chlorine-filled pool and Arizona sun. I've also read from various reviews that this hair mask was able to nurse damaged hair due to bleaching and/or dried out hair from styling back to health. It also works well for those with fine, thin hair as this mask strengthen the hair strands and provides extra moisture for those with natural curly hair.

My hair has never been dyed or bleachednaturally straight and thickalmost never use styling tools and the only "damage" it suffers are from the chlorine and sun so this mask didn't really give me any oomphs. Like I said, my Suave Conditioner does my hair the same goods for less than a dollar while this is $12 for 60 mL and $40 for a 500 mL. Besides that, I really liked the smell though, I thought it smelt amazing.

I will recommend this hair mask to those with thin, brittle hair, naturally curly hair, frizzy hair and those whose hair is damaged from bleaching and dying them.

Hang Ten Classic Sport SPF50I am glad I received this in my bag this month. Although I did not repurchase it...yet, as it is $12.99, I'm glad I got to try it out. I have used this sun block enough times to know how it works for me. It smells great, it dries almost immediately, it's not greasy and it really does protect from the sun. Because I received such a small bottle, I was only able to experiment it on my face. I've worn it aloneunderneath a BB Cream and foundationmixed it with a BB Cream and foundation; I must say, I liked all of the combo listed above. It locked in the moisturekept my skin hydrated, made my makeup last somewhat longer. When mixed with a BB Cream or foundation, it gives off a natural glow which is so pretty.

I will continue to use NeutrogenaCoppertone and Banana Boat as these have worked well for me through the years and will reserve what I have left of this Hang Ten for special occasions like when I go boating at the lake or any other outdoor activities.

Pacifica Mineral Eyeshadow Duo in Duo #1 Celestial & OpalAfter I got over the fact of how cheap the packaging was, I was thoroughly surprised of how awesome this duo is. This duo is especially made for iPsters and unfortunatelyif you would like to get your hands on it, will have to purchase the palette. The palette called, Mystical Supernatural includes four shadows for $14 on its site.

subconsciously reached for this duo quite often ever since receiving it. There's nothing especially amazing about it, it's just I've been lazy and only wear one shade of shadow so I can get away with blending. This duo conveniently has a highlight and all over the lid shade. What did surprised me was the seemingly beige shade came out to a pinkish-white color and the seemingly light caramel shade comes out to be a pearly beigeBlendability wise, I"ll give it an A because I had no issues of it skipping or dragging on meEasy for the brush to pick up, spread on like butter. And guys, no fall outs! Oh yeah, I did put this to the ultimate test and wore it without a primer...yeah.. never again. It creased like three hours in. With a primer, it will
last all day, errr, most of the day.

I'll say this, as much as I loved this duo, I will not shell out $14 for a quad of eyeshadows. That is ridiculously pricey.

Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Matte BronzerA little goes a loooong way is especially true for this little guy. Which is good because if I were to purchase the full size product, it's $30. I cannot say I will never purchase the full size because I already owned the full size prior receiving this in my bag. This bronzer is by far my ultimate favorite high end bronzer, hands down. The texture is super creamysuper blendablesmells so delicious. It works with my skin tone well and I cannot only use it as a bronzer but also as an eyeshadow.

Although I have the full sized and now this deluxe sample, I cannot bear to use them. Only on special, special occasions will I pull them out and use 'em. They're too precious and pricey to be used everydayAhhh...

Avene Thermal Spring WaterI forget if I mentioned this in one of my posts already or not but I placed an order for two 10.58 oz bottles... Because this is pretty amazing and a major necessity in my daily routines. Yes, I came to love this "water" so much. I loved it so much this product actually made my favorite list this month.

Okay, so I guess here is where I gotta explain why I am so in love with this productI really don't know why guys. And if you read the reviews for this, comments from people who feels nothing special for this product greatly out numbers those who enjoys it. I am one of the few who likes it, which is a bit weird because it is technically just a can full of "water".

Here are some of the reasons why I am
crazed enough to buy cans with water for $18 each. First off, I used this as a setting spray for my makeup and have realized that it keeps my skin hydrated in the hot weatherkeeps my makeup in place longer and it refreshes my makeup midday. I also mist this on my face after a workout which instantly cools me off in a way that normal water cannot. And trust me, I've tried misting with water before. I also mist my face before bed which locks the moisture in until morning. I also used this once or twice after shaving my legs but I felt no difference there so I stopped. Although my brother did say he felt a feeling of refreshness after misting it after shaving.

Off to a family gathering I go. Enjoy the rest of your day guys. Have a good weekend!

Thanks all for visiting and reading! Come back soooooon!! :)
