Manicure Monday: Many Shades of Purple

Hello all and Monday greetings! I was gonna wish you a happy Monday but I highly doubt that was true. Haha. I mean, I can't complain about my Monday but I'd much rather it be the weekend still. Just a heads up, I probably won't go anywhere this week because I have to babysit my baby cousin all of this week. I am great with children, but it's one thing to care for them at home then taking them out. This little one is two months shy of being 2 years old so she is one heck of a hand full.
She took a reeeeeeeally long nap earlier so I was able to do my nails real quick. I was so tempted to just do a simple, classic manicure but what the hey... Let's just risk her getting up. :P But don't get me wrong, I didn't do anything extravagant either, just kinda added a bit pizzazz from the norm manicures.
Okay, here we go before she wakes up and cries for her parents. LOL.
Manicure Monday: Many Shades of Purple
Wet N Wild Mega Last Salon Nail Color in Disturbia
Ulta Salon Formula Nail Lacquer in Tutu Cute & Purple Haze
Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Smooth & Strong Base Coat
For the half moon designs, I didn't use anything fancy at all. I used reinforcement labels; as easy as that. Just place them on the nail bed as far up or down as you'd like the half moon to go. Peel the labels off before the nail color starts to dry.
For my thumb, I used a rubber band to stretch across so my line can go right straight across. As for the dots, I used the ends of the bobby pins. Use a light hand for smaller dots and a heavier hand for larger dots. See? Super easy uses of every day objects, no special tools needed.
On my thumb and ring finger, I used Tutu Cute. As mentioned up there, I used a reinforcement to create the half moon manicure and rubber band for the straight line manicure. Each finger took two coat each, one thin then one thick. Ulta's Nail Lacquer formulas tend to take a bit longer than most brands to dry. I waited at least half an hour for the coats to completely dry before I could move on to with the dots. I do like the lacquer itself though, very smooth and easy to apply.
Disturbia was used on my middle and pinky. I have made it known before that I absolutely adore these Wet N Wild Mega Last Nail Color but I just hate the fact that Wet N Wild does not have that large of a selection. Of the colors that they do offer, I own probably 7 or 10 of which I really, really like. I love the wide brush, it makes application 10X easier. The formulas are amazing, from the pigmentation to the long lasting to the chip and fade resistant and not to forget the super fast dry time, all for the price of a dollar something.
The lone index is coated in two thin coats of Purple Haze. Unlike Tutu Cute, which is a cream lacquer, Purple Haze is more shimmery which is thinner by comparison. Thinner the formula, the faster the dry time; my index finger took no more than 20 minutes to dry.
Please excuse the messy job, Baby was crying before I got to the cleaning and she was fussy throughout the entire composition of this blog. :/ Gotta make the best of this situation. Haha.
Y'all go ahead and enjoy the rest of your day now. Thank you for visiting and thanks for reading, Please come back soon! :)
