Manicure Monday: Shades of Green

Heeeeeey guys! How are you guys doing this Monday? And how was your weekend?

It was a crazy weekend for me with the World Cup Finals and everything. It's been a while since everyone gathered and had a good time, so that was great. A bit ear-deafening with lots of screaming and cheering but it's all good. Asian family gatherings are normally like that..Haha.

On another note, for the first time in a long time, Arizona received our first major rainfall last night. Instead of being in the 100s, the temperature dropped to the mid-90s, which doesn't seem much but it feels a lot cooler. The only downside to rainfall is the humidity, 38% humidity to be exact. It feels like California weather to me and needless to say, I don't like it. :( Yet, I'm still hoping for more rain.

So anyways, it is Monday, ya'll know what that means. I get to switch up my nails! I welcome you to another Manicure Monday guys. This week, I wanted to go back to something simple and not too much on the eyes. Reason being, if you remember, I had my nails in flashy red, white and blue to display my Patriot Pride. I've looked at those for more than a week so it's definitely time to switch it for a more solid, less flashy shade.

Sally Hansen Diamond Strength Diamond Shine Base & Top Coat (not pictured)

As always, after prepping my nails, I paint a base coat to protect my real nails. I am still using Sally Hansen Diamond Shine.

Ulta Salon Formula Nail Lacquers are usually opaque with one coat. So that's what I did, one thick coat of Mint Condition. With the exception of my middle and ring finger, I left a tiny gap from the nail bed, so the color is kinda just floating. For the middle finger, I painted the whole nails, from nail bed to tip. I did the same for my ring finger, except I just used another darker shade called Rise & Shine. Again, what you see above is one thick coat of Rise & Shine and Mint Condition.

After those are dried, and it will take a while with this Ulta Lacquer. I used the biggest dotting tool I own, you can use a bobby pin, a toothpick or even a pencil for this, to make three big dots at the nail bed. For my middle and ring finger, I dotted four dots vertically (up and down).

That's basically it. After that was dried, I used the Diamond Shine as a top coat also. This top coat is by no means a quick dry one, so it'll take a while. It will help protect the lacquer from fading for this next week and will also help slow down the chipping.

I initially didn't really like the final product. I actually wanted to redo them, but after looking at them for a while, it doesn't look so bad anymore. What do you guys think?

So that's it for the manicures this week. Show me what's on your nails. I'd love to see your creativities or even nail polish shades.

Thank you for once again joining me on my blog. I look forward to your visits everyday and thanks for reading. Please come back soon. :)

Manicure Monday: St. Paddy's Inspired Greens

Happy St. Paddy's day all! Ever since elementary school, the "rule" for St. Patrick's Day was to  always "wear green or you'll get pinched", it kinda stuck to all of us throughout out lives. Even though I'm already in my 20s, I still hear my friends go on about it. So in honor of St. Paddy's Day today, I decided to do my nails green for this week.
I didn't want to go all out and have leprechaun costumes, pots of gold, rainbows or anything typical like that. I did however, attempted to do some clovers...yeah...it didn't turn out right. So I just "fixed" it and made it into an abstract green flower.
