Today's Make Up: One Day Cali Trip

Hello beautiful people!!

By the time that ya'll read this, it'll be Sunday and I am on my way, getting close or Cali-bound already. Yes, I am embarking on a one day trip to Cali, there and back. Ah the memories... We used to do this every year when I was a little child. Then we stopped doing that for a while and just go on a two days one night trip but now we're back to this one day trip thing.

Please keep in mind that I wrote this post on Saturday evening because I have to be up today at 3 AM and out the door by 4:45 AM, the latest. I laid out my makeup in advance so all I had to do was apply sheet mask and on with the makeup within 15 minutes of waking up.

Avene Thermal Spring Water

I started my routine by using dr. brandt Microdermabrasion to get my skin to its best shape; I followed that with a hydrating face mask for which I left on for about 15 minutes while I went about with my hectic morning. After removing the mask, I gave my face a few slaps here and there. I continued with applying a reliable moisturizer, the one I am using is especially for combination/oily skin. I start off by priming my face to ensure that my makeup will stay on the entire day. I used Brightening Peach to conceal under my eyes and Hidden Agenda on other blemishes like acne scar and those pesky pimples. With my Expert Face Brush, I buffed in my foundation and set it with a powder. I used Sunny to contour and sculpt and Tiki to highlight. I used a matte blush in a natural color to keep everything looking natural and simple. This pale pink shade gives me color to my cheeks as if I am just naturally blushing.

I primed my eyes using Urban Decay today, before I did anything else. Then I took the Brow & Eyes Highlight to my browbone and inner corner of my eyes. With a flat eyeshadow brush, I packed Tickled Pink all over my lids, from inner to outer, lash line to over the crease. I thickly lined my eyes, starting from the lash line, I took it up to mid crease and winged it at the end. Next I used the Tear Liner on my inner half of my lower lash line. I start at the inner corner and steadily and slowly drag it back so it is more concentrated at the inner corner and fades. I coated my lower lashes with mascara only. I did not curl nor apply mascara to my upper lashes because my eyes will not be able to take the 20-ish hours of  having my lashes up. It's really hard to explain but my eyes are really sensitive even though I do not wear contacts or glasses. Put simply, I cannot wear mascara on curled lashes for a long period of time, 10 hours tops.

I gave my lips a good scrub down with a toothbrush and Vaseline before applying a hydrating lip balm. I swept the tint's brush on the inner part of my top and bottom lips and allowed it to bleed to the rest of my lips. About 3 minutes later, I applied another layer. I did not apply the Butter gloss as of yet because I'll be (try to) sleeping in the car and the gloss will smear all over the place. I will apply it before I set foot onto California's ground though.

After my makeup is done, I lightly misted Avene on my face to further help keep my makeup in place and keep my skin hydrated.
