Today's Make Up: Just Another Wednesday

Hi all! How is your Wednesday coming along?

I am having a typical Wednesday, meaning I'm running on no more than 4 hours of sleep, feeling a tad under the weather, yet running around town doing errands. Well, to be fair, it's not errands, just picking up my Grandma at the hospital and taking her to a temporary nursing home.

Leaving her at a nursing home is the last thing any of us wants, but we've all come to an agreement that sending her to a nursing home temporarily is the best option for her as of now. The 24 hour care and assistant will help her greatly. Just hope she'll recover soon. We only want the best for her.

I used nothing on my face today, just a hydrating moisturizer with SPF to protect my skin. I also misted my face with Avene Spring Water to lock in moisture and keep my skin hydrated throughout the day. I didn't have that many major blemishes and surprisingly no dark circles to be concealed.

It is one hot and humid day here in Arizona, so I chose a primer that I know can withstand my super oily lids. After priming my eyes, I used a flat shadow brush to pack Sin onto my lids. I'm not doing anything fancy, just adding some brightness into my eyes. This shadow is super gorgeous, alone and paired with another shadow. It adds color and dimension all the while give my lids a little sparkle sparkle. What was left on the brush, I used on my browbone as highlight. I used The Curve to line my eyes, not too thin but not too thick either. I am a huge fan of thick liners on bare face. I applied two generous coats of mascara to the bottom lashes to sorta balance the liner on top.

I applied Stainiac on the inner parts of my lips and popped my lips a few times so the color will transfer evenly. This was an order I placed on Hautelook a while ago and it just arrived last week. I am working on a haul post for it and will be posted soon. So please look forward to it. To finish off my lips, I applied City Color Lip Balm in Baby Pink. This lip balm will keep my lips hydrated for the next couple of hours while providing me with a gorgeous color combined with Stainiac.

I've been into the barely there makeup lately. Yes, makeup is great, makeup is fun but we gotta have confidence. It's okay to go out bare faced. Makeup will only help enhance our beauty, not change anything. I wish I had realized this sooner... Own it gurrrrl! ;)

Manicure Monday: Abstract "Facetious"

Hello all! It is the beginning of the week again, so who has the Monday blues? I do... on my nails that is! :P

Welcome back to another Manicure Monday guys, and just like I had promised, today's manicure is created using wHet, which I received from my July iPsy bag.

I've been into the non-traditional manicures lately. Last week, I sported half moon manicures so it'll be very repetitive to repeat that this week. So I thought of a few more creative ways to sport my manicure this week using tape.

Never, ever skip the base coat because that will not only protect your nails from staining, it will also strengthen your nails.

My pinkies are the only nails to be fully painted, I used two thin coats to get the full opaque color. I used two coats of glitter on the tip to glam it up a little.

For my thumb, I decided to go with a half moon again, but this time, a smaller moon. I cut a loose leaf paper reinforcement in half and placed it on my nail. I did two thin coat, letting it completely dry in between.

I kinda free styled with my index finger, although it would have been neater with tape, but oh well! I wanted the tip to have an angle. It turned out better than I expected.

For my middle and ring fingers, I used clear tape to give me the slant. Remember to first stick the tape on your skin before putting it on the nail. It'll just take off the excess stickiness. I placed it on my nails to my liking, here, I placed them opposite of each other. Like my other nails, I did two thin coats. Immediately after I did the second coat, I pulled the tape off so the nail color doesn't dry on the tape. After Facetious is completely dried, I used Starry Silver Glitter on the half that is plain. I could have left it plain but what's the fun in that? I used three coats of glitter.

After everything is dried, I used Sally Hansen Diamond Shine as a top coat on every nail. From the way this nail color applied, I doubt it will last me until next week without prematurely chipping on me. But I really do need my manicure to stay on as long as possible this week.

WHAT IS THIS PERFECTION?! I knew it was gonna be good and was bracing myself for this album but this is UNEXPECTED. They literally blew me a away...GAHHHHH!!!

The album, which includes 13 songs are all amazing. Their voices harmonize giving me goosebumps all over and sends chills down my spine. The title track is nothing short of perfection. Although I wish for more sexiness in the MV, I guess this will have to do. Last but not least, the dance. I AM NOT READY FOR THIS HIP THRUST ACTION!

JUNSU IS KILLING ME SLOWLY THIS COMEBACK.... I mean, look at him. Blonde suits him so well. I won't even fight, I'll gladly volunteer to go with you to your backseat ANYTIME Oppa.

Sephora by OPI Mini-Haul - Hautelook Order

Hi everyone! How has your Tuesday been?

I think I figured out why I was so sluggish yesterday. Uncle TOM and Aunt DOTTY came to visit! I usually don't get cramps, not one bit, not at all. They just come and go within a week. But this time, I've been cramping all morning and it's barely day one. I think I'm gonna cry... Needless to say, I'm not having a less than pleasant day.

So a couple of weeks ago, Sephora by OPI was featured on Hautelook again, I could not raesist and placed another order. This time, I bought twelve, but only eleven has arrived safely. I'm not quite sure what happened to the last one, but I'll wait a couple more days until I contact them.

I don't remember how much these are originally priced at, but I got all of these for $3 each. It's still a little pricey for nail colors but I guess I shouldn't complain since they are high end and the quality is amazing!

As you can probably see, I got mostly shades of purple. I think purple compliments my skin tone well and they're quite a sight to see when applied. As much as I adore the purple shades, I couldn't resist the brights. So yesterday, I did my manicure in those brights you see there which I ended up calling Fiery Passion.

These Sephora by OPIs can and will last up to a week even without a top coat. I have tried it before and it has not let me down anytime. The application makes me not dread doing my nails as it was very quick and effortless.

If you're interested in picking these up, they're usually up on Hautelook on Mondays for their #ManiMonday event. If you do decide to give these a try, I recommend getting their creme formulas, one coat and you're good to go.

Wet N Wild Fergie Lipstick - V.I.Pink

Hello Thursday everyone! How is your week going? I am super tired today for some odd reason. I went to bed really early last night and woke up more tired than I was before bed. The cool temp, about high-50s/low-60s this morning, and AC blastin' sure didn't help my case of getting out of bed....I'm actually nodding off as I type this, what the heck?! I hate feeling lethargic like this.

But anyways, I want to share with you (probably) the most used lip color product I've used as of late. It's a pretty versatile lip color in my opinion, I was able to wear it with a bare face, full face of make up, a smoked eye or even nude eyes. I'm talking about Wet N Wild Fergie Center Stage Perfect Pout Lip Color Lipstick in V.I.Pink. It's actually not too much of a surprised, I did mention it as one of my go to pink lip products a while back.

However, I really shouldn't...but I do anyways and I feel guilty for doing it. When I rediscover a past favorite product, I tend to grab for it more often and forget that I have many other choices to choose from. If I catch myself, I'll force myself to choose something else but I usually don't catch myself doing it until I admire my lips after applying it, which by then is too late. I will not go through the hassle of removing it to reapply a new color. Too much work and harsh treatment for my lips.

V.I.Pink is a mauvey-pink with hints of lilacy-lavender...does that make any sense? I swear, I am sooo bad at describing colors. It's just an overall a very pretty color, very easy on the eyes, very flattering on all skin tones, not to mention very affordable and the quality ain't too shabby either.

The color pay off is great, what you see is what you get. It's also very buildable, just one swipe gives enough color but doing one or two more swipes will indeed give full pigmentation. It is very creamy, glides on the lips with ease; it's like spreading butter on corn on the cob. It's also not too sticky, it has a light tackiness to it, but it's not super-glued-lips sticky. Great as it is, this is by no mean a moisturizing or long wearing lipstick. Lip balm before applying this lipstick is NOT an option. Even so, my lips becomes dried after a few hours of wearing it. Same goes for the lasting duration. I have it on for about three to four hours, I start noticing the color fading a bit, like it's not as vibrant as it was when I first applied it. This lipstick originally has a slight shine to it but as the time ticked away, the shine will also leave. Reapplying the lipstick isn't an option either, my lips still feels dried even after doing so. It actually makes it feel super heavy, which I do not like one bit. So what I do is take it all off and start again at step one, with a hydrating, moisturizing lip balm.

I like how this lipstick shade is bright enough to be the center of attention when worn with a bare or natural face or simple eyes but still subtle to be paired with a smoky eye. This lipstick is pretty with whatever color its paired with.

An honorable mention is Penthouse Sweet, a gorgeous Barbie pink. Although I don't reach for it as much as V.I.Pink, it's also used quite often, more so than most of my lipsticks.

Removing Make Up

A quick, short post today. I just want to share with you what I use to remove my make up.

Top: Kirkland Make Up Remover Wipes (Whole Box, Single Package)
Bottom: Sonia Kashuk Eye Make Up Remover, Cotton Pads for Face

I pour some of my Sonia Kashuk Eye Make Up Remover onto my cotton pad and place it over my eye for about 10 seconds, gently pressing it every so often. Repeat for the other eye. I take my Kirkland Make Up Remover Wipes and wipe my face clean. I usually hop in the shower after I take off my make up, but even if I don't, I still take my little fish cleansing brush with a single squirt of Clean & Clear and thoroughly cleanse my face. Pat dry with a towel. Right before bed, I apply my Juicy Beauty moisturizer.
