Today's Make Up: Wednesday Brights

Heeeey allll! Happy Hump, Hump, Hump Day! Jeez, that sounds kinda wrong. Haha. :P

It was such a long night for me last night. I cramped so bad I could not sleep until 2 or 3 in the morning. When I was able to fall asleep, the power went out, which is really, really odd. Where I live in Arizona, we do not get power outage at all, maybe once every two or three years during  really bad thunder storms, not in the middle of a bright, clear, sunny day. It was only out for probably an hour but the house got so hot without the A/C I could not sleep it off. When it finally turned back on, I fell asleep for about 20 minutes before the alarm rung for me to get up. Hooooorible night, lack of sleep, cramping, slight headache yet I am oddly in a good mood.

I was in such a great mood this morning that  instead of my usual simple, natural makeup, I opted for brighter colors to match my mood. Nothing over the top, nothing too extravagantly fancy, just more colors than what I'll usually wear.

Sephora by OPI Mini-Haul - Hautelook Order

Hi everyone! How has your Tuesday been?

I think I figured out why I was so sluggish yesterday. Uncle TOM and Aunt DOTTY came to visit! I usually don't get cramps, not one bit, not at all. They just come and go within a week. But this time, I've been cramping all morning and it's barely day one. I think I'm gonna cry... Needless to say, I'm not having a less than pleasant day.

So a couple of weeks ago, Sephora by OPI was featured on Hautelook again, I could not raesist and placed another order. This time, I bought twelve, but only eleven has arrived safely. I'm not quite sure what happened to the last one, but I'll wait a couple more days until I contact them.

I don't remember how much these are originally priced at, but I got all of these for $3 each. It's still a little pricey for nail colors but I guess I shouldn't complain since they are high end and the quality is amazing!

As you can probably see, I got mostly shades of purple. I think purple compliments my skin tone well and they're quite a sight to see when applied. As much as I adore the purple shades, I couldn't resist the brights. So yesterday, I did my manicure in those brights you see there which I ended up calling Fiery Passion.

These Sephora by OPIs can and will last up to a week even without a top coat. I have tried it before and it has not let me down anytime. The application makes me not dread doing my nails as it was very quick and effortless.

If you're interested in picking these up, they're usually up on Hautelook on Mondays for their #ManiMonday event. If you do decide to give these a try, I recommend getting their creme formulas, one coat and you're good to go.

Manicure Monday: High Line Green

Hello all and welcome back to another Manicure Monday post. Just like that, we head into the second week of June. I cannot believe it, and World Cup starts next week... I can't believe it's been four years already. It seemed like just yesterday that I was indulging myself watching the World Cup, but just a blink of an eye, four years later. Time is seriously flying by in lightening speed.

But anywho, my manicure from last week using Sephora by OPI in Seeing Pink Elephants could not withstand last week as it chipped and looked pretty hideous. Didn't feel like going for Sephora by OPI again this week so I chose a color and brand I tend to not use.

GREEN NAILS THIS WEEK!!!

I could have just left it with the plain green nails but that's not my style this week. Haha. I used a green glitter polish to top off the green polish but it still looked plain. So I decided to use a purple glitter polish on the tips. Eventually I pulled the purple down mid nail. I'm surprised it actually looks pretty good for a spontaneous look.

I did one thick coat of High Line Green, two thin coats of Limelight and one thick, one thick coats of Razzle Dazzle.

Today's Make Up: Green & Orange

Hello all! How are you doing this fine Thursday? I'm having the most wonderful day because I slept soundly like a baby all through the night. I woke up refresh and re-energize, ready to take on the day; which I do need because I had to accompany my Grandmother to her doctors' appointments all day.

Lack of sleep for just one night visibly took a toll on me physically, I'm still a Panda... :( Thank goodness for heavy duty concealers!! I used the lighter side to conceal my dark circles and the side that matches my skin tone on other minor blemishes. Although this concealer is in a stick form, it isn't dried as other stick concealers. I didn't need full coverage today so I chose to wear a BB Cream. With this specific BB Cream, I do not use a brush to apply but rather with clean fingers. In my opinion, the beads are distributed more evenly with fingers. Because this BB Cream has very light coverage, I decided to set it with a rather full coverage powder like L'Oreal True Match. I contour and highlight with my favorite bronzer and highlighter like I normally would. To finish off my face, I used a bold orange blush and with a super light hand, I applied the blush to the apple of my cheeks. This Rosy Cheeks is crazily pigmented, apply it with a bit of force and you're a clown. Gently does it.

I prepped my eyes by priming it, this will ensure no creasing and fading midday. With a flat eyeshadow brush, I packed Champagne all over my lids and inner corner.  I pulled it slightly above my crease and ended it at my outer corner. With a clean fluffy brush, I lightly dab the brush into the shadow and dust that on my browbone then still using the brush, start buffing out the edges to clean 'em up. I thinly lined my upper lash line with my favorite liquid liner and did not extend, flick or wing it out whatsoever. It ended where my lash line ended. I rimmed my lower waterline with a Nude pencil liner to open up my eyes a bit before taking the green Creme Shadow Pencil to my lower lash line. I started at the outer corner of my lower lash line and worked my way in, all the way to the inner corner. Starting from the outer corner again, I went over the previous line, this time stopping 2/3 way in. I repeat for the third time, only this time I stoped 1/3 way in. With a detail or smudger brush, I kinda just lightly go over the cream shadow to even everything out. Don't press too hard because that might end up picking up the shadow itself. Using the Eyeliner side, I start lining a third of my lower lash liner starting from the inner corner. With the Shadow side (the bigger end), I go over the liner. This just basically soften it up a bit. With a clean finger, I lightly smudge the transition point of the green and pearl so they'll blend together. Lastly I curl my lashes and apply a coat of mascara to the top and bottom lashes.

I think orange paired with green is such a lovely combination. With the green under my eyes and orange on my cheeks, my lips should be orange also. After I thoroughly scrubbed my lips and applied lip balm to it, I took my Revlon Balm Stain in Rendezvous to the inner part of my lips, top and bottom. I let that sit for two minutes before going over it again, dabbing it with my fingers afterward. Then I take the NYX Butter Gloss in Apple Strudel and applied that all over my lips to give it some shine and color.

After everything is applied and I'm ready to head out, I used Avene Thermal Spring Water to set. I am currently still testing this out but from what I can see, this really helps keep my make up in place and controls the oil on my T-zone.

Today's Make Up: Lethargic Wednesday

Hi all. Hope your Wednesday is going well. I am so tired today, could not sleep for the life of me last night. I kept tossin' and turnin' for some unknown reason. Something unique about me is that if I lack sleep, I will instantly get splitting headaches, on-going all day. Which in turn makes me grumpy and blegh. On top of that, I've been nodding off all day... needless to say, it's been one loooooong day for me. I just cannot wait for the day to be over so I can hit the sack early.

Running on low to zero energy, I still had to run out to Costco for a few things and did some other quick errands since I was out. Believe it or not, I was so tired that I was even contemplating to skip my therapeutic make up session. In the end though, I kinda just
half-assed everything. Not proud of that at all, but ya know.. that's life.

I was either a Panda or a close relative of, my dark circles were so bad. I didn't need to use any face products because besides my eyes, my skin is behaving very well. I dabbed some concealer under and around my eyes to cover up my dark circles and brighten up my eyes.

Doing fancy eye make up is the least of my concern today. First I used my Brow & Eye Highlight to highlight my browbone and inner corners. I can skip anything but not highlighting my inner corner. Since I have slightly smaller eyes, highlighting the inner corner not only creates a more awaken effect and it just opens up the eyes. Then I used a pencil liner to tightline my waterlines and used mascara on my lashes after curling them.

I wore a brighter, bolder lip color to take the attention away from my plain face and simple eyes. I didn't need anything long lasting because I was gonna be out for a short while. I opted for something I don't normally reach for.

Sorry guys, for the excessive EXO pics and rants for the last couple of days. It's just.. I'm so torn about this whole EXO-Kris-SM situation. Not that I wanted to, but I kinda took EXO (or any other idol group) for granted, as if they're always gonna be around. Never in a million years would I ever dream of this happening. Things like this reminds us that not everything lasts forever, be thankful for everything everyday. Do NOT take anything for granted.

Today's Make Up: Colorful Eyes

Hello everyone! Are you having a fabulous Tuesday? I've been out since nine this morning and didn't get back until like an hour ago. It was such a long and tiring day, both physically and mentally straining. But it was helping out a friend so it was worth it.

I realized that I have neglected my bright, colorful eyeshadows for a very long time. All I've been wearing lately are natural eyes or cream shadows. I guess I can always wait for Summer to sport bright, vibrant, colorful eyes...but Summer is Summer, now is nooooow. So guess how I wore my eyes today? Yep, a very colorful eye look.

I moisturized and primed my face like always. I will be using a BB Cream today so I needed a concealer that is full coverage. I love this Amazing Concealer because a little goes a loooooong way, blends like a dream yet very lightweight, not at all heavy like some other full coverage, creamy concealer can feel; it is also super creamy yet does not settle in the fine lines, even in super hot weather. Because this concealer already gave me full coverage, I now only need to even out my skin tone and cover minor blemishes like redness and dark spots. A little less than a pea size will be enough to do the job. I set everything with a pressed powder, contour and highlight as always with my most used bronzer and highlighter, NYC and Hard Candy. I used City Color Spring Fling Blush in Petal Pink, it is a fresh matte pink and coral blush. It's one of those blush with two shades and you swirl your brush to pick up both. It gives my cheeks color yet kept it every subtle.

I prep my eyes by priming it so my eyeshadows will last longer, appear more vibrant and prevent creasing. On a flat eyeshadow brush, I took Cool Blue and applied it to 1/3 of my lids. Then I flipped the brush over and took Hot Pink onto the rest of my lids. I kept going back and forth packing on Hot Pink and Cool Blue, blending it out to my liking. I didn't want it to be too light so I packed on the shadows about three or four times and blending it out. I especially blended where Hot Pink and Cool Blue met so it has a softer transition and does not look weird. With a blending brush, I took Cherry onto my outer corner, outer V and crease.  I start out with just a dab, blend, go back with another dab, blend and continue until I'm content. Cherry is such a bold color that I do not want to risk my already established eyes to look muddy and therefore ruined. Being careful always pays off. After all three shades are on my eyes, I took a clean fluffy brush and blended and buff everything to my liking. I used my favorite liquid liner to wing out my eyes. I took my cream shadow pencil to my in corner and browbone, blending it out with my fingers. I also took the pencil onto my lower lash line to help balance out the eyes. Lastly, curl and mascara.

Since my eyes are already BAM, BAM, BAM bright, I went with a natural pink lip. I didn't want to be top and bottom heavy, that would've been too much...? I wore Revlon Super Lustrous lipstick  in Pink In The Afternoon. I love Revlon Super Lustrous lipsticks, definitely one of the most comfortable lipsticks I've ever worn. It's long-lasting, it's comfortable, it doesn't dry my lips out, large selection, affordable...Nothing at all to complain about these. If you haven't tried these yet, I urge you to try one, it is SO worth it.

Manicure Monday: Lilac Any Sense, Razzle Dazzle

Hello all! It is that time of week again! Monday.....Manicure Monday that is! :P

Last week, I sported some matte nails, which did not last me even half way through the week. I knew that was going to happen, but I really like to wear matte nails every now and then. I somehow misplaced my Essie Matte About You top coat and have yet to repurchase it. About time I should because using a matte top coat lasts me longer than a nail polish that is already matte.

It is back to high-shine nail lacquer this week. I've been using Sinful Colors nonstop so I figured I should let them rest and use my other polishes before they dry out. So I went with the Balm Hot Ticket this week. These polishes, if you haven't tried them, or if you have, you'd probably agree; They are sooooo opaque, only one coat was needed for even coverage, and it is super fast drying, which is a plus. After painting one nail and continuing on to paint the other nails, I come back to the first nail and it's already dried. Not one of those dried on top but when you touch it it wrinkles because it's wet underneath. No, the nails were completely dried.

My ring fingers are my accent nails this week, I added some purple glitter polish from City Color I have yet had the opportunity to try. It just gives my manicure a nice sparkle, sparkle to not be boring. The glitter polish actually took me three coats with a base coat of a purple nail polish.

I'm still using Sally Hansen Diamond Shine Top & Base coat for my base coat. I don't think this is the best base coat I've ever tried, but it's definitely not the worst. I'll finish it up, then I'll try another brand. As for my top coat, I used my holy grail of all top coat, my Seche Vite.
