Manicure Monday: Clean, Cut, Cute

Hello Monday everyone! Hope You all had an enjoyable weekend. Mine was crazy but fun.
Although I did spend the night at the hospital again. I am super tired today, heavy duty concealer was my best friend. But on the bright side, I did get to trim, file and clean up my nails. I tend to keep my nails short for the warmer months because I either go swimming with my cousins, do gardening or wash my cars. I've had bad experiences with long nails while do said activities...  Never again said I.

A couple of weeks ago, Sephora by OPI was on Hautelook for $3 each so I picked up five. They took forever to arrive but they finally did last Friday. Although I've worn nail colors from OPI and Nicole by OPI before, I have never tried Sephora by OPI. I have heard many great things about this polish so it's about time I tried it out for my own.

Comes Monday and guess what's on my nails for this week?!

*Bonus* On my toes for the next two weeks are Sinful Colors in Tempest

I thought this shade was absolutely gorgeous from the site, that's why I ordered it but upon seeing the shade from the bottle, in person, up close... I wasn't too sure. I already own a couple of shades VERY similar to this, one of them OPI. So if I already bought it, might as well give it a try; if I like it, I'll keep it, if not, I can give it to my Aunt.

Maybe because this is a shimmery polish, but the formula is very thin compared to other polishes. It applied very evenly and dried quicker than you can say quick. After the first coat, I wasn't convinced still. After the second coat, I can faintly see my nails underneath but the color has become a whole 'nother shade. I added another coat to get the total opaqueness. And so what you see there, took three thin coats.

I wore a base coat on all of my nails to protect them like I always do. However, with the exception of the middle finger, I did not wear a top coat. I am testing this polish out so to see how well it fends on its own. Would defeat the purpose if I wore a top coat. The middle finger I needed to wear a top coat to secure the stone and the bow.

Like I said, I bought five, a couple creams and some sheer. I will do a post on them if not tomorrow then Wednesday. So please stay tuned if you're interested.

Thank you for visiting and thanks for reading guys! :)

Manicure Monday: 'Basket Case' Full of 'New Years Kisses'

Hello everyone! It is once again Monday, so that means...another Manicure Monday!

I stayed away from Sinful Colors yet again this week and used a hot pink Orly polish instead. I've neglected other polishes for a while and it's time I should alternate them so it might be a while until ya'll see another post with Sinful Color polishes.

So this week, my nails are in a bright shade of hot pink...topped with silver glitter at the tip.

This is the result of one generous coat, no need for a second coat in my opinion. Orly polishes already has a shiny finish so if it was worn by itself, I wouldn't top it off with a top coat, but because I am wearing a glitter, it was necessary. The glitter would have been fine with one coat as well, but since I wanted to bling it out a bit more, I added a second coatconcentrating at the tip.

My manicures have been really simple lately. That's seriously what I've been into. No crazy, over the top nail art, just a simple manicure and some glitter. I hope you aren't
bored. Haha.

That's it ya'll. Thank you for joining me for another Manicure Monday. As always, thank you for reading! :)

P.S. I got summon to Jury Duty next Monday so I might not have time to do a post for Manicure Monday. I'll be gone from 8 AM to 5 PM. So I apologize in advance if that is the case.

Manicure Monday: Lilac Any Sense, Razzle Dazzle

Hello all! It is that time of week again! Monday.....Manicure Monday that is! :P

Last week, I sported some matte nails, which did not last me even half way through the week. I knew that was going to happen, but I really like to wear matte nails every now and then. I somehow misplaced my Essie Matte About You top coat and have yet to repurchase it. About time I should because using a matte top coat lasts me longer than a nail polish that is already matte.

It is back to high-shine nail lacquer this week. I've been using Sinful Colors nonstop so I figured I should let them rest and use my other polishes before they dry out. So I went with the Balm Hot Ticket this week. These polishes, if you haven't tried them, or if you have, you'd probably agree; They are sooooo opaqueonly one coat was needed for even coverage, and it is super fast drying, which is a plus. After painting one nail and continuing on to paint the other nails, I come back to the first nail and it's already dried. Not one of those dried on top but when you touch it it wrinkles because it's wet underneath. No, the nails were completely dried.

My ring fingers are my accent nails this week, I added some purple glitter polish from City Color I have yet had the opportunity to try. It just gives my manicure a nice sparkle, sparkle to not be boring. The glitter polish actually took me three coats with a base coat of a purple nail polish.

I'm still using Sally Hansen Diamond Shine Top & Base coat for my base coat. I don't think this is the best base coat I've ever tried, but it's definitely not the worst. I'll finish it up, then I'll try another brand. As for my top coat, I used my holy grail of all top coat, my Seche Vite.

So that's it guys, a simple manicure this week. Love this color so much. I forgot I haven't worn purple shades in forever. Rediscovered favorite!

Thank you so much for visiting and thanks for reading. :) Enjoy the rest of your night.

Manicure Monday: Dream On Matte

Manicure Monday: Dream On Matte

Hi, hi, hiii! Hope all is well. As we continue on with our daily lives, I hope that everyone still have the Sewol ferry tragedy and the still missing MH370 flight in your thoughts and prayers.  We could use a miracle right about now. With all the unfortunate news surrounding us everyday, it makes me cherish life and appreciate everything, even the little things so much more. I hate that it takes such tragedies to make me realize that again, but it's never too late. Thank you for being born, thank you for being alive and please remain healthy.

Welcome to another Manicure Monday all! Last week, I went Back to Basics with simple light pink and pale blue, topped off with subtle shimmers. I love pastels but after looking at something light like that for a whole week, I wanted to go bold this week. I didn't want to go too dark, because ya know, it is still Spring after all. But I also want to stay away from light shades and pastels this week. Something in-between...

Manicure Monday: Dream On Matte

Sinful Colors in Dream On (Matte finish)

Something bold yet bright like this b-e-a-utiful fuchsia, matte finish polish by Sinful Colors. Love Sinful Colors, but you already knew that; also love matte nails, you didn't know that until now. :P As much as I love it, I don't usually wear matte nails because they don't last as long. One or two days in, the tips start chipping which I do not like one bit.

All matte nails are kinda boring. To jazz it up a little, I accented my index (pointer) fingers in glitter polish topped with glitter bits. It has to contrast with the matte finish from the rest of the nails. Gold looks great with any color, it's so versatile , but I especially love how good this gold glitters works with the fuchsia shade.

Thank you for visiting and thanks a bunch for reading! :)
