Manicure Monday: "Silver Lining" of Caviar

Welcome back to another Manicure Monday all! How was your weekend?

It is a typical Monday for me. Lazy and unmotivated BUT, still pushing through all day to get things done. Gotta beat myself up with a good work out to make up for the weekend.

So here we go, on the nails today!

Manicure Monday: "Silver Lining" of Caviar
Wet N Wild Mega Last Salon Nail Color in Silver Lining
Wet N Wild Wild Shine Nail Color in Black Creme

Sally Hansen Diamond Strength Diamond Shine Base & Top Coat

I've done abstract, brights, bold nails for the past couple of weeks, and while those are fun, I was craving for a neutral, sheer type manicure this week. Silver Lining is just the type of nail color I have in mind. It is a pearly opalescent shade of silver. I picked this up from K-Mart some time ago from a limited edition collection.

Since I wanted something sheer, I only did two coats on each nail. I absolutely enjoy the wide brush because it applies beautifully and easily. The nail color just glides on, covering the nail with each stroke. The first coat took about five minutes to dry while the second coat took a tad longer.
After an hour of seeing how plain the manicure looked, I decided to jazz 'em up with little black dots that now resembles caviar. I placed the dots in different positions on the nails to add variety. Since this is just for accent, I didn't want to use the good nail polish so I just used Wet N Wild ones that are 99 cents at Walgreens.

After the nails are completely dried, I used Diamond Shine as a top coat and applied in each nails evenly.
And that's it! Quick, easy manicure for this week. I know this week looks rather boring compared to other weeks but this is how I feel this week.

What do you have on your nails today? Feel free to share!

Thank you for visiting and thanks for reading. Please come back soon! :)

Today's Make Up: Wednesday Brights

Heeeey allll! Happy Hump, Hump, Hump Day! Jeez, that sounds kinda wrong. Haha. :P

It was such a long night for me last night. I cramped so bad I could not sleep until 2 or 3 in the morning. When I was able to fall asleep, the power went out, which is really, really odd. Where I live in Arizona, we do not get power outage at all, maybe once every two or three years during  really bad thunder storms, not in the middle of a bright, clear, sunny day. It was only out for probably an hour but the house got so hot without the A/C I could not sleep it off. When it finally turned back on, I fell asleep for about 20 minutes before the alarm rung for me to get up. Hooooorible night, lack of sleep, cramping, slight headache yet I am oddly in a good mood.

I was in such a great mood this morning that  instead of my usual simple, natural makeup, I opted for brighter colors to match my mood. Nothing over the top, nothing too extravagantly fancy, just more colors than what I'll usually wear.

Manicure Monday: Clean, Cut, Cute

Hello Monday everyone! Hope You all had an enjoyable weekend. Mine was crazy but fun.
Although I did spend the night at the hospital again. I am super tired today, heavy duty concealer was my best friend. But on the bright side, I did get to trim, file and clean up my nails. I tend to keep my nails short for the warmer months because I either go swimming with my cousins, do gardening or wash my cars. I've had bad experiences with long nails while do said activities...  Never again said I.

A couple of weeks ago, Sephora by OPI was on Hautelook for $3 each so I picked up five. They took forever to arrive but they finally did last Friday. Although I've worn nail colors from OPI and Nicole by OPI before, I have never tried Sephora by OPI. I have heard many great things about this polish so it's about time I tried it out for my own.

Comes Monday and guess what's on my nails for this week?!

*Bonus* On my toes for the next two weeks are Sinful Colors in Tempest

Manicure Monday: Clean, Cut, Cute - Sinful Colors Tempest

I thought this shade was absolutely gorgeous from the site, that's why I ordered it but upon seeing the shade from the bottle, in person, up close... I wasn't too sure. I already own a couple of shades VERY similar to this, one of them OPI. So if I already bought it, might as well give it a try; if I like it, I'll keep it, if not, I can give it to my Aunt.

Maybe because this is a shimmery polish, but the formula is very thin compared to other polishes. It applied very evenly and dried quicker than you can say quick. After the first coat, I wasn't convinced still. After the second coat, I can faintly see my nails underneath but the color has become a whole 'nother shade. I added another coat to get the total opaqueness. And so what you see there, took three thin coats.

I wore a base coat on all of my nails to protect them like I always do. However, with the exception of the middle finger, I did not wear a top coat. I am testing this polish out so to see how well it fends on its own. Would defeat the purpose if I wore a top coat. The middle finger I needed to wear a top coat to secure the stone and the bow.

Like I said, I bought five, a couple creams and some sheer. I will do a post on them if not tomorrow then Wednesday. So please stay tuned if you're interested.

Thank you for visiting and thanks for reading guys! :)

Today's Make Up: Lunch Date

Ello, ello, hello everyone! I had a quick lunch date with my girl friends earlier today; it was not preplanned but they didn't tell me last minute like last time so I had about 40 minutes to get ready.

Today's make up is once again nothing glamorous, just trying to look put together and presentable.

Today's Make Up: Lunch Date

FACE
Neutrogena Healthy Skin 3-in-1 Concealer for Eyes in Buff 09
Revlon Nearly Naked in 120 Vanilla
Revlon Nearly Naked Pressed Powder in Fair
Physicians Formula Bronze Gem Healthy Glow Bronzer
City Color Baked Blush in Guava
Wet N Wild Color Icon Bronzer in Reserve Your Cabana

EYES
ELF Eyelid Primer
Wet N Wild Color Icon Trio in I Dream of Greenie (cleaver name! ahaha)
Wet N Wild Mega Liner Liquid Eyeliner in Black
Essence Long Lasting Eye Pencil in Almost Famous
Maybelline The Colossal Volume Express Mascara in Glam Black

LIPS
Maybelline Baby Lips Electro in Strike a Rose

My skin has been behaving very well lately, just the redness and other minor blemishes to conceal. I chose a very light coverage foundation today so I will need some extra help under my eyes. This Nearly Naked foundation is able to minimize the redness and somewhat even out my skin tone, but it is not able to completely conceal and cover. But I am fine with that, this seemingly looks more natural to me. I set my foundation and concealer as always. I went for a more subtle contour since my foundation isn't full coverage. Do you also do that? Or is that just me again..? When I wear a full coverage foundation, I'm comfortable with going all out on contours, blushes and highlights but when I'm wearing something light like a light coverage foundationAmerican BB Cream or tinted moisturizer, I tend to tone done my contour, blush and highlight. To me, if my face has light coverage but has bold contours and blush, I think it looks weird... no? So anyways, the bronzer I am using is from Physicians Formula, and it's that multi-tone type concept. I swirl my brush in the bronzer area then dab it into the pearly area. The pearly shimmer isn't anything over the top, it will just give my skin a slight glow. To keep the glowing theme going, I wore a baked blush that had a subtle glow to it. I applied this on the apple of my cheeks and blended it back. Since my bronzer and blush are already glowy, I chose a matte highlight to balance out the glowiness.

I prepped my eyes by priming it, I used ELF today. I was in a bright mood today, so I chose a green trio from Wet N Wild called I Dream of Greenie (aha, looove it!). I applied "browbone" onto my browbone and inner corner. I packed "eyelidall over my lids, from innermost to outermost, keeping it clean by not flicking it out. Then I went in with "crease" to the outermost and outer V and pulling it up to my crease.  At this point, I went back and forth between "crease" and "eyelid" to add more until I am finally satisfied. Then I took a clean fluffy brush and blended and buffed everything out. Lastly, I took a detailed brush and took "eyelid" to my lower lash line. Then I used my liquid liner to line my upper lash line and winged that out. I used a champagne-y nude eyeliner on my lower waterline to open up my eyes a little bit, all of the bright colors can cause it to look smaller. Then curl and give them lashes a generous coat of mascara.

Since my eyes are a vibrant color, I want to balance it out with bright lips also. Nothing too dramatic, something bright yet sheer so there's an equal balance. I'm glad I have these Baby Lips Electro on hand, because they provide the right amount of neon to tie everything together. The shade I chose is Strike a Rose, it's a pinkish coral shade that I think goes very well with my green eyes.

Today's Make Up: Lunch Date - City Color, Maybelline, WNW

We had a fun lunch date. I was able to catch up with my girls that are now very busy being moms and wives. It was nice. Though all of them were talking about their children and husbands...which makes me feel very left out. Of course they didn't do it on purpose but it comes naturally. They're proud momsI don't blame themI just hope it'll be my turn soon. Haha. :P

Thank you for visiting and thanks for reading all! :)

Monthly Faves: February

I decided to come out with a new series, this series will be done monthly and will be posted the first week of the following month. Since this is the first week of March, this post will be about February Faves.
Face: Sonia Kashuk Concealer Palette in Hidden Agenda
On days that I go without foundation or BB cream, this concealer palette is my best friend. I use this concealer regardless with a foundation or on its own. The neutralizer evens out the redness while the darker concealer covers dark spots and the lighter shade as a sort of highlight.
Eyes: Wet N Wild Mega Liner Liquid Eyeliner in Black
I think it's safe to say that I never, ever leave the house without eyeliner. Intense, winged, cat eye or just a subtle line, this liquid liner does the job well. I probably go through more of this liner than any of my make up products I own. That says a lot.
Lips: NYX Butter Lip Balm in Parfait
No matter if it's summer or winter, lip balm is the main necessity for me. Sometimes lip balms are just too plain and boring and I just don't feel like topping it off with a lipstick. Thank goodness for tinted lip balm. They keep things interesting, low maintenance style. My particular favorite for last month is NYX Butter Lip Balm in Parfait, a gorgeous light pink shade. It is very beautiful on the lips.
Miscellaneous: Vaseline Cocoa Butter Lotion & Petroleum Jelly
monthly fave vaseline
My saviors of the winter months. I lavishly apply the lotion all over before I go to bed. I apply the jelly to my lips after removing all of my make up. I leave it on for about 15 minutes before I take a toothbrush to exfoliate. I was able to protect myself from hurtful dry, cracking skin and lips because of these two lovelies.
Food/Drinks: Teddy Grahams Cinnamon & Gold Peak Sweet Tea
monthly fave food drinks
I've been munching and sipping these not only last month but for a good while now. Ever since I decided to "eat and live healthier" and completely cut chips and sodas out, I've really turned to Teddy Grahams and Sweet Tea. I know they're not the healthiest alternative but it's better than chips and sodas.
Song:  "A Day Without You" - S.M. The Ballad with EXO Chen & SHINee Jonghyun
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ry2pTJbjnPA
This song has been on repeat all last month. The lyrics are so deep and meaningful. Even if you don't understand what they're saying, you can just listen to their beautiful vocals conveying the lyrics. Not to mention...how sexy they look, especially Chen during the high notes. Dies...
Well that was fun. I hope you enjoyed reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it. A couple more days til the weekend. Yay! Thank you for reading. :)
