Unexpected Mini-Haul: Target & Walmart

Unexpected Mini-Haul: Target & Walmart

Helllllllllo everyone! It is one GORGEOUS day out today here in brick-oven Arizona. We've been around 75 degrees all day long, it feels so nice, especially with the wind blowing.  This is truly Spring, but unfortunately this weather will not stick around for long as the temp will be back to the high-80s to high-90s the next couple of days.

I was running some errands earlier at Target and Walmart...and well...here is another unexpected mini-haul post. :P It's nothing much, a few lip, eyes and face products I've been eyeing and some non-beauty stuff also.

I picked up two face related products, Maybelline Dream Wonder Powder and Hard Candy Glamoflauge Lite. I've heard many people, a couple beauty gurus rave about this powder so I wanna try it out myself. I'm always up for trying out new setting powders,  a good powder can really help those with oily skin like myself. As many of you may know, Hard Candy Glamoflauge is my go to full coverage concealer, so I was super exited when I came across these while browsing the aisles today. I also heard emilynoel83 talk about them in one of her recent videos and I really wanted to get me hands on one asap. I want to love this as much as I love the Glamoflauge liquid concealer.

For eye products, I picked up Rimmel Scandal Eyes eyeliner in Nude because I needed a new one for my lower waterline. I've heard good things about it so why not give it a try right? I also got Milani Shadow Eyez, it's like a jumbo shadow pencil, I'm pretty much obsess with those and I don't have one from Milani yet so thought I should pick one up. I picked up shade Champagne Toast, this could be a highlight shade or a base. I also picked up their new Eye & Brow Highlight; seems like an interesting concept.

I'm pretty late in picking these up, but I finally gave in and bought two Lip Intense...I was trying so hard not to buy them too. Let's see how great they are; the chance of it being a hit is pretty high because Milani does not joke around. While I got these, I was also looking for the Rimmel Show Off but I think they weren't in stock or my Walmart doesn't carry them. I also got the Power Lip...I've never seen this around before, I think, ever. I thought the shade was pretty and it applies with a built-in brush.

My cousin was raaaaaving about this new Charcoal Cleanser and told me that I needed tot try it out and what not. What the hay, I picked it up. I'm not sure what I'm anticipating or have any expectations for it. I'll keep ya'll updated though.

I needed to pick up some Lysol No-Touch Refills and I found the Aloe Vera & Vitamin E scent....Oh my GOSH! I was obsess with this scent when I first got it from SoftSoap, I kept repurchasing it and even got the biggo bottle to refill. It's actually still in my other bathroom. This soap was a must get. My Brother, on the other hand, liked the Citrus one so that's why I got that too.

The last couple pf things I picked up were all from Target's Dollar Section. A couple of My little Pony coloring books, a jumbo Hello Kitty coloring pages and a Disney Princess journal. Cause hey, who is ever too old to color and Disney PrincessesNot this gal! :D

Let me know if you've tried any of these and how you like them or if you want me to update ya'll on any specific products.

Alrighty guys, that's it for this mini-haul. I'll see ya back here tomorrowThank you for visiting and thanks for reading! :)

Hard Candy Baked Eyeshadow Duos - Peace & Blind Date

Hard Candy Baked Eyeshadow - Peace & Blind Date

Helllllo everyone! It is Thursday once again. With just a blink of an eye, it is now the 1st of May. We're almost half way through the year, can you believe that? Wow...

But hey, it's May, it's pretty much Summer in Arizona. If you're anything like me, I don't wanna be cooped up indoors all day, I just wanna be out and about, basking the sun's warmth. I tend not to wear too much make up during the Summer, just a quick-fixer-upper and I'm out.  I don't want to waste 15 minutes blending out my eye shadow, I'd rather be out. Don't get me wrong, I still have my therapeutic make up applying session maybe twice or three times a week. Just not everyday, it's Summer Vacation now.

So today I wanna talk about my favorite baked eyeshadow products from the drug store, and they are Hard Candy Baked Eyeshadow Duos, I have two, Peace and Blind Date. When It comes to baked products, Hard Candy and Milani automatically comes to mind, and now ELF too. I like Milani for their baked blush and ELF for their baked eyeshadow and blush as well. However, with Hard Candy, they not only have amazing baked bronzers and blushes, their eyeshadows are quite the gems themselves.

Unfortunately, I only have two to share with you. The Walmarts around here have very minimal selections, but I am on the prowl for more; I'm still looking for Secret Rendezvous - pink and cranberry shadeHigh Maintenance and Rush Hour - both gorgeous shades of brownRock N Roll - pink and brown comboPearl Green and Blue - perfect pastel shades. It'll be a while until I am able to gather all of the duos I want.

All of the duos from the line is highly shimmery. The duos include one light shade and a darker shade. The light, light enough to be a highlight and the dark, dark enough for the crease, able to add definition and used as a liner. The shadows, both, are amazingly pigmented. Like I do not need to sweep my brushes back and forth many times in order to pick up the shadow. One sweep, pack it, and depending on how intense I want it to show up, I repeat the steps again. It doesn't take much honestly, because when I go for these duos, I am either in a hurry or rushing through my make up. This could be applied with fingers or brushes, it is very forgiving and extremely blendablefingers or brushes alike. Like most baked products, this shadow could be worn dry or wetWear dry for a soft, shimmery effect or wet for a dramatic finish. That's what I especially love about it. It's a duo but technically could be a quad. Wet and dry really does make a huge difference in the pigmentation and finish.

The first duo I bought was Peace. I used this duo nonstop for about a month after purchasing it. Peace is highly shimmery, consists of a golden-y champagne and a medium brown. I love, absolutely love this duo to bits. The champagne shade is perfect as a highlight for the inner corner and browbone. But when worn wet, it turns to a golden shade, kinda metallic-y. The brown when dry, is soft medium brown, gives the right amount of depth to the eyes. When wet though, it could be worn as a liner, yes, it is THAT intense. It is such a versatile brown, I sometimes reach for it even when I'm using another palette. This brown and shimmer compliments my skin tone very well. I am fair/light with yellow undertones.

Hard Candy Baked Eyeshadow - Peace

I was able to pick up another duo called Blind Date sometime after. Although I do not use this duo as much as Peace, I am still glad I had bought it. I looove this pink shade. When I'm suuuper lazy, I would wear this shadow alone; either alone by itself or to set a cream shadow, both of which I apply with my fingers. It brightens, but still gives my eyes some dimension. When worn wet, the pink turns a tad darker, which I only wear when I'm wearing make up, make up. For lazy days, it may be too intense so I opt to wear it dry. I am not a huge fan of the white, pearly shade though but it is indeed very useful. I wear it dry as a highlight in my inner corner and browbone. I also apply it on the center of my lids, like on the eyeball with my fingers when I'm done with my eye make up, just to give it more dimension; this method can be worn wet or dry, depending on how intense I want it to show up.

Hard Candy Baked Eyeshadow - Blind Date

Like most, if not all baked products, these duos are too, domed shaped. I have not hit pan with any of these so I can't tell ya how much eyeshadows are exactly packed in there. I've been using it diligently for a good while though and there seems to be plenty left. These duos are all $6, I found mine at Walmart and I do believe that Hard Candy is exclusively sold at Walmart...I may be wrong but I have not seen it anywhere else.

If you're interested in these duos, I recommend getting the more neutral shades, like PeaceHigh Maintenance or Rock N Roll. They're just very low maintenance, how ironic that High Maintenance is listed, perfect for a quick on the go look.

Thank you for joining me today and thanks a bunches for reading. See you all back here tomorrow for another inspired make up post. Byeee. :)

I was particularly fond of the desert and sushi barYummy!! I am still reminiscing about the food today. Gotta run the food away today and tomorrow....

So if you remembered, I said yesterday that I was out and about. Well, I picked up a few things from Walmart and Ulta...had the Rewards Coupon thingy to redeem before it expired today. Besides that, I also had the $3.50 off anything over $10 coupon, I picked up a few things I've been wanting to try out.

I have been dying to get my hands on these NYX Butter Lipstick ever since I've seen them on their site. But living in Arizona, these products takes forever and a day to be released so I'm always late... Luckily I found them at Ulta last week but didn't actually get to pick them up until this week. I really loved the Butter Lip Balm and Butter Gloss, so I reeeeeeeeally have high hopes for this Butter Lipstick. Plus, NYX's lip products has never, ever let me down before.

I own quite a few of the Butter Gloss and Soft Matte Lip Cream, so they're nothing new to me. I really adore these shades, it was kinda love at first sight so I had to pick them up. Of the two Lip Cream, one is a lilac-pinkish shade while the other is a light coral, both are extremely gorgeous. They are definitely opaque enough to be worn alone. And ya know how much I love matte lips, these are my favorite! As for the Butter Gloss, I though this shade was pretty and I can use it to top off nude lipsticks.
I was so elated to see that the Ulta Rewards redemption this quarter included NYX Butter Lip Balm as a level one prize. I was able to get Marshmallow, and I really wanted Macaroon too but sadly that store didn't have it in stock...GRRRRR. I chose an Ulta Nail Lacquer in its place, I do enjoy their formula and I like this shade too.

I used to use Essie cuticle oil, but I ran out of that recently so I decided to try something new. I love Burt's Bees lip balms so why not give their cuticle cream a try. Will let you know how that goes in a later post.

Essence Nail Art Express Dry Drops claim to take only seconds to dry....seconds. Only seconds.... I'm doing Easter nails for Manicure Monday, lots of nail art that needs speedy drying. That will surely determine whether it works or not. I hope it does work, it's only $2,99.
Nothing to rave about with these two skin care products. I've used Dickinson's for years and have talked about it many, many times before. Not a day goes by that I do not use it. Same can be said about this Biore cleanser... though they changed the packaging, I hope they didn't change the formula also.

Hope you all have a peaceful Saturday. See you'll back here tomorrow for another Sunday Mask recipe! Thank you for visiting and thanks for reading. :)
