Manicure Monday: Zoya

Monday greetings my pretties. I hope y'all are having a lovely Monday because it is one fine, new day and I am grateful to be healthy and alive. Thanksgiving will be 10 days away, don't just wait until then to be grateful and give thanks. It should be done year round, all the time, for the big, small and not so little things. Around this time, every year for the last 3 or 4 years, I would donate food, canned goods and/or clothing and would make time to volunteer. I know it's not much, but it makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside. The Holiday Season is to spread warm love and joyous cheers, and I try to do exactly that.

Any who, today's post was originally supposed to be a tutorial on How To Winterize Your Nails but something came up midday and I was unable to finish it so as a back up, today's post is of my manicure for this week. I doubt that the tutorial will be able to go up next week as well because I will be doing special Thanksgiving manicure. I'm guessing that the tutorial will go up in about two weeks. I apologize to those who were looking forward to it.

Zoya in Julie & Neve

Zoya Professional Lacquer in Julie & Neve

Sally Hansen Diamond Strength Diamond Shine Base & Top Coat

Julie is the lavender shade and Neve being the deep, dark blue. Both shades took two thick coat to come out evenly and streakless. The waiting time to dry is approx. 20 minutes, but even so, do be care not to touch it or it might dent or be messed up.

I did use a base coat to protect my nails but I did not use a top coat. I hardly ever do wear a top coat, not unless I know that I need my manicure protected until the end of the week or else I just allow the nail color to fend on its own.

Again, I'd like to apologize for the confusion and delay. But please try to understand that in life, unexpected things occur that I cannot control. I'd like to thank you for your understanding. Like I said, the tutorial will go up in about two weeks. I want to do it to the best of my ability and not just BS it, because you guys deserve the best.

Although here are the steps I have created earlier. I am not 100% satisfied with the way it came out so I will redo them but just so you can get the gist of it.

Y'all enjoy the rest of your night now. Thank you for visiting and thanks for reading, Please come back soon. :)

February iPsy Bag: The Look of Love

My gosh, has it really been a month already? It just seemed like yesterday and some days ago that I was writing about the January Bag. But anyway, my February bag actually came last week, but there was a mishap with the Zoya nail polish, sigh, such a shame. But no use to cry over spill nail polish because they sent me a replacement bag and that came yesterday!
To no surprise, this month's theme is Valentine's Day, iPsy called it, The Look of Love.
February iPsy Bag: Look of Love
This month's V-Day themed bag include:
Pop Beauty Plump Pout Mini in shade Peony Petal (Full Size)
Zoya Nail Polish in Dot (Full Size)
City Color Be Matte Blush in Fresh Melon (Full Size)
Tini Beauty Eyetini Cordial Cream Shadow + Base in One in Ambrosia (Full Size)
IPKN NY Moist and Firm BB in Light (Sample)
I am super excited I finally get to try IPKN's new BB cream! IPKN stands for Independent Professional Knowledgeable New Yorker; I do believe it is a Korean brand just pursuing the New York Style.  I've only seen this brand on sites selling Korean make up, so this is the first time I see it elsewhere. I am always on the hunt for a good BB cream, and this claims to moisturize, heals damaged skin cells and scars, leaves a non-sticky matte feeling with no powder necessary. Hmm...interesting. Upon reading further into this product, I am getting mixed reviews, some says it is too yellow, orange and dark for their skin tone even though it was a Light, another had an allergic reaction to it, making her skin "itch like crazy". Nothing better than to test it out myself.
Heard nothing but good feedbacks with City Color. I am crossing my fingers and hoping that the blush will show up on my skin as it does in the pan. The color is just so beautiful!
I first heard of Tini Beauty through iPsy. What I got is basically a "revolutionary formula" of a cream shadow with a primer in one.  This claim really intrigues me and makes me really antsy to try it out. "sets to a transfer-resistant finish that doubles as a wear-extending base under powder shadow". We. Shall. See.
I'm a huge fan of Pop Beauty, but not so much of
lip plumpers. I'm not too crazy to try this out even though this "pout perfector" claims to combine "high-shine of a lacquered gloss with the long wear of a stain and is packed full of lip-plumping peptides". This just isn't my thing, but I will still try it out to see if it lives up to its claim. I got shade Peony Petal, the darker shad of the two that iPsy subscriber could have received.
Swatches from Left to Right: Eyetini Cream Shadow + Base in Ambrosia, Pop Beauty Plump Pout Mini in Peony Petal, City Color Be Matte Blush in Fresh Melon

I own a few Zoya nail polishes, love all the shades, love how it applies. I really like the color that I got. Maybe I will wear this this week. Check up my upcoming Manicure Monday post to see if I do.
Reason why my February iPsy was delayed...sigh...such a waste!

I keep forgetting to update you guys on the products, like last month's bag. Ugh, sorry guys. I'll be on it this month. Pinkie promise.
Thanks for reading guys! :)

New Year's Make Up

Happy New Years Everyone! Though this is a couple days overdue, I thought I'd still share with you what I wore for New Years. I got ready from morning and stayed out until late that night so my make up had to be long lasting and sweat proof. I pulled out products I don't usually use, but since this is a special occasion. Choosing the right foundation was also very important. I knew that there would be lots of picture taking so I had to choose a foundation that wouldn't make my face look ghostly white when the flash turned on.
New Years are notorious for being all about glitz and glam. I kept my face make up dewy and luminous with subtle pink cheeks and went for sparkle sparkle eyes and bright red lips to make a popping statement. *Please continue reading to see the full list of products I used.
