Today's Make Up: Mommy & I

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!!!!!!!!
To the all the mothers, grandmothers, mothers-to-be,
Today is dedicated to you, not that we need a day to show you that we love you, respect you, admire you... with the selflessness, kind, loving nurture you've used to raise us with, everyday is Mother's Day

I LOVE YOU MOMMY!!!! Con thương Mẹ nhiều lắm.

So today is Mother's Day, whether she's healthy, happily alive on this Earth with you or she's at a better place looking down at and always by your side, today is a day dedicated to these Mothers. I'm assuming that many of you are/were spending time with your Mom; I know because I am. We actually went to Dim Sum for a Mother's Day brunch with the family. We're going to head out for a Mother's Day dinner at Pacific Seafood Buffet in a bit. So it's an all around Mother's Day celebration today.

My Mom got married and had me when she was 30, now, she is now in her mid-50s. Looking at her now, I've realized that she's aged from when I first looked at her yeaaars ago. She is still beautiful as always. But through all the years of her working hard for my brother and I, all the sacrifices she's made, the hardships she endured, it had withered her. But my Mom is never one to put herself first, she never took the time to beautify herself, she never spent money on herself. Even now, we're no longer in any hardships, she still puts herself last. I tried all the time to beautify her, but she says that's not her and she's not used to it. All she does on a daily basis is tint her brows and BARELY line her lower lash line...
But today...  mwahahah. I finally got her to put on a little more than her usual. I'll get to that in a min, but first, what's on my face today.

I started off by priming my face and concealing my problematic areas. I am using my Holika Holika Aqua Petit BB Cream, this is water-based so it is very lightweight and natural looking. I applied this with a beauty blender. I almost never skip this step, setting everything with a powder, which I used this Dream Wonder for the first time. I used a very light peach blush; it's one of those very subtle border-line nothing there type shade. I didn't want to wear too much color today but this actually gave me some color back to my face.  I contoured like I normally would and highlight.

I primed my lids with NYX HD Eyeshadow Base today because I wore some vibrant colors and this will make it show up a lot better. I used the Milani Eye & Brow Highlighters for my browbone and inner corner. On a flat eyeshadow brush, I took the nice seafoam green and started packing it in my innermost corner all the way to the outer corner. I keep packing it until I am satisfied with the color tensity. I then flipped my brush over and picked up the light teal shade and packed on from mid-lid to the outer corner. I packed this so that it is slightly darker then the seafoam. With a detailed brush, I used a purple-ish blue shade for the outer corner, outer V and crease. I blended and buffed everything out until there are no loner any harsh transitions. I took a pencil brush, and with purple shade, I started lining my lower lash line starting from the other corner working my way in. I went over it maybe twice and I was happy with the results. I went back to the flat brush and took some glitter and dab that on the middle of my lid, right on the ball to add a little dimension. I lined my upper lash line thinly and winged it using Essence Extra Long Lasting Eyeliner Pen. I also took this pen and started dotting a few dots on my lower lash line to create an illusion of fuller lashes. I used a nude eye pencil to rim my lower waterline to brighten up my eyes so it doesn't seem enclosed with it being so top heavy. Then just curl and mascara top and bottom.

I did a lot of eating and talking today so I wore something moisturizing and comfortable, yet can still give me some color. I wore one of my Color Whispers today in Petal Rebel. It stayed on for most of the meal.

On my Beautiful Mom

Mother's Day
I didn't have time to take a picture of her make up, but here are the 5 products I used on her today.

FACE
Skin79 VIP Gold Collection Super+ BB

EYES/BROWS
Sonia Kashuk Eyeshadow Palette in Eye On Neutral 02
Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Perversion
Milani Brow Tint Pen in Dark Brown 02

LIPS
NYX Butter Lip Balm in Panna Cotta

For my Mommy, since she kept telling me, "no too much make up", I cannot go overboard. I bought this BB Cream specifically for her; she basically only needs to use it as a moisturizer for the morning and she's good. This BB Cream has an SPF of 25 and it improves wrinkles and is able of whitening. My Mom has a lot of sun spots and such. This was able to conceal most of her blemishes, evened out her skin tone whilst giving her UV protection and moisturization. She wanted to stop here but pfffft, no.

My Mom has very little, thin lashes and eyebrows. I inherited my abundant of brows and moderate of lashes from my Daddy, thank goodness. I used her Milani Brow Tint Pen to shape her brows and a Glide-On Pencil to titghtline her upper waterline. These two steps she was totally fine with, because she actually does them herself. However, she wanted to stop there, but my Mom not only has hooded eyes, her eyes are also uneven. I used a couple of matte shadows to reshape her eyes up a little.

Finally I finished her off with a tinted lip balm. She has very dry lips and she's only used to wearing lip balms. Her lips are also very pigmented so I chose a shade that complimented her skin and bright up her lips a bit.

She was more than elated to be finished. She told me she doesn't understand how I can sit through that everyday. Hearing her say this... it saddens me and I realized that my Mom has sacrificed so much in her lifetime for the sake of her children so we can live comfortable lives. One of those things is her femininity... My Mom is very dedicated to our family, she is a loving, caring wife to my Daddy and an understanding, nurturing mother to my Brother and I.

From this point onward, I want her to live comfortably and not be burdened any longer. She deserves it more than anyone else I know. She is the best Mother I can ever ask for.  :'(
